BS Bio really made me appreciate everything. Like literally everything that revolves around me. Not regretting at all for taking BS Bio as my pre-med course. And now I'm graduating!! Kung maka graduate. Lol.
BS Bio for the win!! Maybe BS Bio won't help in a clinical matter but BS Bio will definitely help you to become a better student and to be a prepared Med Student; and many people say that BS Bio will help you in taking the NMAT!! Plus, you'll appreciate the environment, the organisms and how they function together. 😄 BS Biology FTW!!
BS Bio grad from DLSU here and a licensed physician as well. And I concur with Dok Aura na hindi basis ang pre-med for doing good acad-wise as a medical student. Like her, I also had better grades than a lot of my peers who took Nursing, Pharma, or even Med Tech. Heck, I even had a couple or so classmates who were Liberal Arts majors pero consistent Dean’s Lister sila during med school. I guess it all boils down talaga to the actual individual, sa kanyang angking talino at syempre kung pursigido sya. Bonus na lang yung clinical experience in your pre-med years. 😇

My dad graduated from la salle med and told us about this 6 year program of La salle . Even though i’m still a freshie in high school im pretty sure this is the course I will take! Thank you for elaborating it so much!
I watched this 3yrs ago and now I am already in my 2nd yr Bsbio and sobrang nakakatuwa lang na nandito ako ngayon sa course na to and the people I am around with. No regrets in taking this course I learned and will learn a lot ❤️ doktaura

Please try to interview someone who took up Psychology as their pre med cause from what i heard from everyone, they always say that psychology is the worst pre med daw. Or nahihirapan daw mag cope up yung mga psych grads turned med students sa med school. I'm an incoming 4th year psych student who happens to be an aspiring doctor as well, and i wanna hear what a fellow psych student who's taking up medicine has to say. Thank you Dok!! :)

Very late comment but i'd just like to say that San Beda University also offers BS Human Biology. I am currently enrolled in that course and unlike De La Salle it is a four year course. Not only that but our department made the subjects medically inclined since most of the students enrolled in the program will take up medicine in the future. Its an okay course, will recommend it for aspiring med students! :> :> :>

Yeah it is still in the Student, I am currently a 1st year college student taking up BS Biology Major in Medical Biology. In our curriculum we still have courses such as Botany, Zoology, Systematics, evolutionary biology, Chemical biology, BIOSTATS, BIOPHYSICS and other stuffs even though we are majoring in medical biology and for med related subjects we have Human anatomy and physiology with pathophysiology, Histology, microbiology, Biochemistry, molecular biology, pharmacology, clinical pathology etc. Sharing this one for students who would want to take BS Biology program as their pre-med program 🙂😅

@@melbertbacarra9976sabagay po, UE-Manila po hehehe kaso wala akong makitang ibang details about sa med bio track nila. kita ko lang po yung curriculum ng bs biology nila. ang generic po eh. nung A.Y. 2017-2018 lang po kasi na-split yung bs bio nila sa dalawang tracks.
I'm taking up BS Biology as my pre-med and I think if you are looking for a course in college which could still lead you to other field aside from med, this is for you. The course, in my experience, gives you a variety of introduction towards life itself besides "Humans" where in depth you will tackle in medschool. Fieldtrips in forest and oceans would give you alot of life experience and the only disadvantage I think is that medtech and pharma and nursing would give you a license. I really enjoyed BS Bio since I became grew more as a person not only in the academic field.
went back to this video since i am confused if i should take up nursing as pre med or human bio and take up the 6 year shortcut to med. i really want nursing because i wanted to experience patient care and community helping, and stuff. but the 8 years before becoming MD is just too long, i am the oldest child so i am expected to bring money for my fam but i am still studying on that time being. idk what to choose T___T i'm still grade 11 though, i still have a long way to go! i hope i can decide soon though T__T

Hi Doc! UST will also offer a 2 degree six year program. It's like Dlsu's but it's more on Human Studies. But they're not sharing more infos yet. Just that ahehe I'm an incoming grade 11 student and in Health Allied strand
RA Razal yes in UST med, one is a leap med which diretso ka na sa med School after shs then yun old curriculum ng medicine which requires a bachelor’s degree.

I'm a graduate of BS Biology and took up Medicine after too. hmmm. Maybe other courses have an "edge" during clerkship since they also have an exposure during their premed but then Medicine is not really about what's your premed. Nasa syo talaga yan.

Hi Ate Aura! Paano po kapag medyo hindi po purely related sa medicine yung pre-med course, after po ba ng college kayang habulin yung subjects like sciences ng one summer or months din po? Para po akong nagmomovie marathon sa mga videos niyo, at sobrang happy ko po na sobrang galing and relatable ng videos mo like sobrang laki ng tulong para sa mga students na gusto magmedicine. Sobra sobra 😆❤️ (Grade 11 student na medyo confuse pa po sa program na ittake lalo na papalapit na ulit mga entrance exams, feeling nervous and excited 🙈) God bless po ❤️

Balak ko kasi talaga magmed kaya bio yung premed choice ko kaya lang nagka financial problem kami, kung scholar naman okay talaga yun gusto ko mag apply kaya lang choice ko po tlaga mag work gusto ko na kasi tulungan parents ko since both of them ay di tapos ng highschool. Gusto ko na sila tulungan tumatanda na rin kasi sila tapos ung papa ko nasa abroad almost 10 yrs na, gusto ko na sia umuwi. Every Christmas sia lang mag isa kumakain dun habang kachat namin siya. I'm willing to sacrifice my dream job po. Sana merong job for bio graduates. Pls reply po 🙏

Very late comment but i'd just like to say that San Beda University also offers BS Human Biology. I am currently enrolled in that course and unlike De La Salle it is a four year course. Not only that but our department made the subjects medically inclined since most of the students enrolled in the program will take up medicine in the future. Its an okay course, will recommend it for aspiring med students! :> :> :>

Yeah it is still in the Student, I am currently a 1st year college student taking up BS Biology Major in Medical Biology. In our curriculum we still have courses such as Botany, Zoology, Systematics, evolutionary biology, Chemical biology, BIOSTATS, BIOPHYSICS and other stuffs even though we are majoring in medical biology and for med related subjects we have Human anatomy and physiology with pathophysiology, Histology, microbiology, Biochemistry, molecular biology, pharmacology, clinical pathology etc. Sharing this one for students who would want to take BS Biology program as their pre-med program 🙂😅

@@melbertbacarra9976sabagay po, UE-Manila po hehehe kaso wala akong makitang ibang details about sa med bio track nila. kita ko lang po yung curriculum ng bs biology nila. ang generic po eh. nung A.Y. 2017-2018 lang po kasi na-split yung bs bio nila sa dalawang tracks.

I'm taking up BS Biology as my pre-med and I think if you are looking for a course in college which could still lead you to other field aside from med, this is for you. The course, in my experience, gives you a variety of introduction towards life itself besides "Humans" where in depth you will tackle in medschool. Fieldtrips in forest and oceans would give you alot of life experience and the only disadvantage I think is that medtech and pharma and nursing would give you a license.
I really enjoyed BS Bio since I became grew more as a person not only in the academic field.

went back to this video since i am confused if i should take up nursing as pre med or human bio and take up the 6 year shortcut to med. i really want nursing because i wanted to experience patient care and community helping, and stuff. but the 8 years before becoming MD is just too long, i am the oldest child so i am expected to bring money for my fam but i am still studying on that time being. idk what to choose T___T i'm still grade 11 though, i still have a long way to go! i hope i can decide soon though T__T

Hi Doc! UST will also offer a 2 degree six year program. It's like Dlsu's but it's more on Human Studies. But they're not sharing more infos yet. Just that ahehe I'm an incoming grade 11 student and in Health Allied strand
RA Razal yes in UST med, one is a leap med which diretso ka na sa med School after shs then yun old curriculum ng medicine which requires a bachelor’s degree.

BS Hum bio is also offered in DLSU-Dasma (similar to BS Biology) but not similar to DLSU-Taft which is a 6-yr premed-medical program.

I'm a graduate of BS Biology and took up Medicine after too. hmmm. Maybe other courses have an "edge" during clerkship since they also have an exposure during their premed but then Medicine is not really about what's your premed. Nasa syo talaga yan.

Hi. Im BS Bio grad way back 2010. After graduating bs bio nagwork na ko for 7yrs and now I'm married and nagresign na ko coz we're trying to get pregnant. And now parang interested ako i-pursue ang med school kaya lng mahal. Hehe. So I'm planning na kumuha na lng ng cert. In teaching coz i want to teach biology but i don't know how to start. 😢

Hi Ate Aura! Paano po kapag medyo hindi po purely related sa medicine yung pre-med course, after po ba ng college kayang habulin yung subjects like sciences ng one summer or months din po?
Para po akong nagmomovie marathon sa mga videos niyo, at sobrang happy ko po na sobrang galing and relatable ng videos mo like sobrang laki ng tulong para sa mga students na gusto magmedicine. Sobra sobra 😆❤️ (Grade 11 student na medyo confuse pa po sa program na ittake lalo na papalapit na ulit mga entrance exams, feeling nervous and excited 🙈) God bless po ❤️

Balak ko kasi talaga magmed kaya bio yung premed choice ko kaya lang nagka financial problem kami, kung scholar naman okay talaga yun gusto ko mag apply kaya lang choice ko po tlaga mag work gusto ko na kasi tulungan parents ko since both of them ay di tapos ng highschool. Gusto ko na sila tulungan tumatanda na rin kasi sila tapos ung papa ko nasa abroad almost 10 yrs na, gusto ko na sia umuwi. Every Christmas sia lang mag isa kumakain dun habang kachat namin siya. I'm willing to sacrifice my dream job po. Sana merong job for bio graduates. Pls reply po 🙏
