@Jaramillo Mauricio , I am a 3M Peltor equipment service technician in Poland. Your problem can be solved in a few steps. 1. Reset the PTT button 2. Reset your headphones 3.Connect the PTT to the cockpit of an airplane as you would use it. 4. Pair both devices connected to the cockpit as you normally use. Repeat this procedure once a week If you pair devices (ptt + headphones) outside the plane, the handsets will see PTT as a mobile phone. Have a nice use.
My XPI came without the PTT on the left muff, however it did come with the random black button on the right muff, so it’s constantly hot mic , that was a bit disappointing, I have an issue that I can hook it up to any aircraft and I can hear the crew but they can’t hear me, then after pressing every button on the damn thing and shutting it off and back on it finally transmits, not sure what’s going on, I couldn’t find any useful information in the manual. What am I doing wrong??
how to get streaming to work ( works perfectly on my set ): go to menu ( menu button and bluetooth button simultaneously for 2 sec ) then go to extended menu ( plus and minus buttons simultaneously for two seconds ) then go to streamnig by clicking through with menu button, then enable with plus button, then confirm by holding down menu button ( i also enabled multi-point ). here is the crucial part - after all this UNPAIR your headset from the phone and then pair it again. you will now have streaming. if you don't do this step even though streaming is enabled on your headset your phone will still remember this device as phone calls only and thus streaming won't be available. actually surprised by how loud and clear the streamed sound is, but not much bass if any. well, i have Bose NC700 for when i need the bass ( though they can't be used for hearing protection ). the other reason to use Bose over these is comfort. these Peltors are like a vise on your head, while Bose are like Marshmallow / feather. but again, Bose do not protect your hearing - they only remove background hum but any gun shot or stuff like that and some high frequency noises will go straight through into your ear with the Bose. This is why i have both. I think both are good products but for different applications.
Hello Tim. I have problem with the PTT switch. The Headset work like a interphone mode and is not necessary push the switch to talk. The equipment have some settings?
I can't get it to stream audio from, for example, Spotify. You have to go into the settings and activate the function, but it doesn't work. I'm going crazy, where am I doing wrong!!
Hi Tim... so I also work for an Airline here in Canada and just got from the company exactly the same product, I had the XP version before and now the XPI....BUTTTT BIG ISSUE... so when connecting to a B 777 I can hear the pilot but he CAN NOT hear me ... for the first 30 sec or so works fine.. but after that he can not hear me.. I got another new set from work and same issue ... any Ideas ??? thanks
I found that there is a slight delay between the time you press and hold down the Bluetooth PTT button and the time you can actually start speaking. I also found that there are two modes you can set the Bluetooth PTT button in. The regular mode is hold button to talk, and the second is auto-talk, which will detect speech and transmit your voice only when you're speaking. I prefer not using this feature. But they can be switched by double pressing the Bluetooth PTT button. Beyond that, I have no additional knowledge on the headset. I hope you can figure out your issue with the headset. I would definitely get in contact with 3M.
there is no "noise canceling" in these. noise cancelling is what Bose has, that's when you turn them off and suddenly there is 10 times MORE noise, because ANC is off. when you take batteries out of your Peltors they don't get any louder because they don't have ANC. do you need ANC ? no. but you don't have it. ANC is only really useful in airplane cabin ( constant low frequency hum ) or for listening to music ( gives you better defined bass ). ANC not really useful for hearing protection, that's why hearing protectors like these don't use them ( but many still advertise "noise canceling" because lying is what marketing people do for a living ).
@Tim Wilson , be sure to put a protective sponge on the microphone. The M171 / 2 will hear much better.

@@kimmon1976see response from "Unapologetic Geek" ... he / me got it working.
Is there a way to listen to music ? I don't know if it is the Bluetooth streaming mode
Only few models, mt15 can't apparently
@@Rodrigo540 it absolutely works for me. see response from "Unapologetic Geek" - there are a few steps required to get it to work.
Anyone know if this headset works with push To talk, we only know how to make it work with either muted microphone or constant microphone ON.
are they sold separately?
