  • In honor of Conservation Officer Appreciation Day, annually recognized on March 15, you will meet a Grand Rapids man and his family who were helped by a conservation officer after a life-threatening chainsaw accident near Pentwater Lake in Oceana County.
    Michigan Department of Natural Resources conservation officers are sworn law enforcement officers through the Michigan Commission on Law Enforcement Standards who protect Michigan’s natural resources and the environment, as well as the health and safety of the public through effective law enforcement and education.
    Conservation officers live in the counties they patrol as embedded members of their communities, and are equipped with patrol trucks, boats, ORVs, snowmobiles and more, so they can quickly respond to life-threatening, general criminal and search and rescue events where time is of the essence.

      What does some ancient Jewish concept have to do with it. Isn't that the very nonsense that the cultist used to assure us we indeed had the chosen one for our highest office of the land? People are actually all we got, and it clear thinking, caring, sane people who get things done.

    I live just a few minutes from Pentwater. God bless them all. God is good! As a retired Oceana County EMT, next time, call 911. Don't drive up yourself! My husband is a logger, & was cutting down a tree in Hart, when he was hit by a widow maker. He came home instead of going to hospital & it nearly killed him. He wouldn't let me call 911 so I drove him to Shelby. They transferred him to Muskegon, where he spent 2 days. Don't hesitate! Call 911! Thank you, officer! You look familiar! I think I talked to him before! Stay safe y'all!

    DNR Does a really great job that they don’t get credit for. I was fortunate to be able to support the agency while working for a tech company that allowed them to get the IT equipment that they needed. Most people don’t realize the risk that they take on a daily basis approaching armed hunters, fisherman, as well as poachers. I just wanted to thank them for serving our state and putting their lives on the line on a daily basis to protect Michigan and the wildlife that makes this state so wonderful.

I was young and dumb and was on my breaks before the officer had a chance to flip on his lights. I was pulled over before he got behind me. He clocked me at 55 over the 55. I had no record at that point and after all was said and done I got a hefty ticket, a long lecture and was told he should rip up my licence on the spot. Needless to say that has been my one and only ticket. From that day on I obey all my traffic laws with out a second thought. So so wish could remember that officers name. He did a real life changing event to me just by words and fact he didnt rip up my licence even tu how I deserved it and then some

    • @donavonrobbins1908
      @donavonrobbins1908 3 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      His job is law enforcement. The tourniquet is there to save his self if he got shot doing his job. Because their jobs are spread out, they are taught first aid as a bonus. First aid training is not simple. It takes practice and training. No, the officer likely didn't do any mora than any other officer would be willing to do. But fortunately he paid attention to the training and took it seriously so he was prepared when called to step up . It would be very easy for someone to be complacent, misidentify a situation, or otherwise be distracted. None of that happened here. And a life was saved.
