A Balinese friend was complaining about this strange traffic situation as he had to drive his customers from their villa near the Hyatt to Hardy's, but there was no way (apart from taking a very long detour via Ngurah Rai). I think 70% of the shops in the mall are already open, but a lot of things are not ready, such as some elevators. And at the back (the doors leading to the beach) there's also still a lot to be done.

Wow, so busy! Maybe will be a bit too busy to ride a bicycle on the main road with children when we go there in 1 month! I would be so interested to see kedonganan to jimbaran beach route, and Tabjang Benoa! Maybe Sanur is getting too busy with the mall!

Hi Krisna, I knew there would be a lot of traffic congestion and confusion In Jalan Danua Tamblinan. On the bi-pass north of Sanur, there is some land available to build a very big parking lot. Motorists and bikes should be encouraged to park there and be transported by small buses to the Icon. The road from the Icon to the bi-pass should have no parking either for cars and bikes and with available land build car parks for them(delivery trucks excluded). This would result in better access and departure of the buses. This idea could be a solution for the mess now and definitely for the increased patronage of the Icon. Just saying.

We spend 3 nights in Sanur each month. They're few hotels with parking so that is out first priority. Looks like we may have to approach from the West Side to minimise traffic. Sanur needs a half finished hypermall like a blood clot in the head. A better solution would have been to use the land as a carpark. Seems the property developers take presidence over local traders in Bali.

This traffic chaos has led us to decide not to return to Sanur after 25+ trips. We feel so sorry for the Grab and taxi drivers who are losing so much income because they’re stuck in gridlocked traffic, and for the small businesses who are losing customers because they can’t get around. Local people tell us that corruption is the cause of this reckless decision to create a one-way traffic system without additional routes - the investors in Icon Bali have allegedly bribed their way into this. So sad - goodbye Sanur 😢

Congested traffic on day one. it's only going to get worse, unfortunately. Then what, people will get fed up with the wait in the traffic jam and patronage to Icon may decline in time until the government rectifies the situation.
