  • It was built in the 1980s and is the biggest scrap metal sculpture in the world. It's built with two of Thomas Edison's dynamos from the 1880s and high voltage components from the 1920s. It also incorporates the scrapped decontamination chamber from the Apollo 11 spacecraft. The creator's real name is Tom Every. His fictional backstory for the machine is that it's designed to launch him into the heavens on a magnetic lightning force beam. The Forevermore sculpture park also has tea house gazebo as well as the Juicer Bug, the Epicurean and the bird band orchestra. Mr. Evermore, aka Tom Every also created much of the installation art a the famous House On The Rock including the world's largest carousel.

While living in Chicago IL, I use to visit this park every summer from my mid teens to my mid 20s. You are welcome to touch most pieces then, I am not sure if you can now. The last time I visited was in 2008? I actually bumped into Dr. Evermor, a very nice man, we sat down and chatted and another visitor joined us. The man is/was super kind and intelligent.

Thank you so much for this video and the news. I have wanted to visit the park ever since 2012 when a friend gave me one of the Forevertron Commemorative Coins. I live very far away though, so this video is a nice substitute. I am sorry the Dr is having such big health issues and I wish him all the best. LOVE his work!

It's so sad that most of us have to wait until we're almost dead to practice our passion and art. You're very blessed Sandman to be able to make a living from your passion.

I would say both yes and no to that statement. There's a video out there by Jordan Peterson talking about creative people. He says that for them if they don't practice their creativity, which in a way is a curse they die inside. Plus that it's hard to make a living being creative. Which it is and has left me with many sleepless nights trying to figure out how to make a living being creative. Right now I can't travel and shoot more videos like this due to health issues and it's slowly killing me inside. I feel compelled to shoot them but can't. It's beyond frustrating. At least I can write other content for now.

@@koolbuildings7916 Well, if you ever wanted to visit some places down south we could pal around, the medical system is pretty good, people actually travel there for medical tourism because it's so cheap (not as cheap as your Canadian version), and there are beautiful locations and beautiful women. You've got my email.

"And the orchestras played as the mechanical structure looked as if it were struck by lightning, the thunder making the ground shake, and [the ship] was waving back and forth, and was removed from it. [the ship] ascended along a bolt of lightning that struck as it was the strongest thing of the world, and left our world."
Queen Victoria, 1872, following the ascension of Dr. Evermor

I use the Sennheiser ew 112-p G3 Wireless Mic. I don't use the on camera mic as the sound sucks.
