Her hair texture reminds me of mine. Went to a Dominican salon last week for a wash and roller set like I always do, and the owner keeps insisting and pressuring me that I blow dry my hair wet because my hair is "too hard". I have told them more than once that is way too damaging and I will never do that. I'm never going back there again. I work too hard for my money to ever give them a penny. I've gone to other salons where they do my roller sets with ease and no problem. That place is just lazy and like to shame natural hair. I was so upset. I admire all the hair textures that you roller set on. Results are always healthy and beautiful!

I dislike when clients choose length over the health of their hair. She could’ve got it cut maybe an inch shorter to make it more healthier because it will grow back.

Roller setting is less damaging to the hair than a normal blowout, since the heat is applied indirectly. Also I believe that the hair is less prone to breakage
Another form of blow drying with less damage
Roller sets are used with indirect heat, so it's better replaced with normal blowout with a handheld hair dryer that has a lot of direct heat.
Roller setting is an alternative to the blow drying step that usually precedes the actual flatironing step. It's way less offensive to the hair than blow-drying so it helps preserve the integrity of the hair. Of course , some do decide not to flatiron afterwards and just rock or style the rollerset.

Eden, my daughter has this same hair texture and pattern. I keep it in box braids, and it's growing like crazy, what's a good product to keep her hair moisturized? It soaks up oils so fast. Any tips would be so helpful, I wish we can fly out to you... She's only 10..i don't put heat in her hair, I flat iron a Lil section just to check her length maybe 2 times a year.. I love your work
