With babies, one should do them a favour and teach them to sleep with as much noise as possible. Letting newborns sleep in the living room while stuff is happening will make sure they are not light sleepers. It is a skill that only becomes more helpful through the years. Your miles may vary off course, some children don't take to it but if they do, no sleepless nights because of thunder, crying siblings,...

I love the way you can leave your truck parked in the street full of kit and disappear to the rear of a property to work, do that here in the UK and you would return to an empty truck, that's if the truck is still there.
