Hearts of Iron IV is a grand strategy wargame developed by Paradox Development Studio and published by Paradox Interactive. Released on June 6, 2016, it is the sequel to Hearts of Iron III and part of the Hearts of Iron series of grand strategy games focusing on World War II. The player may take control of any nation in the world in either 1936 or 1939 and lead them to victory or defeat against other countries.

For the 'Coordinated Strike' operation, you need to have Strategic Bombers set on the area and it will do like the text tells you:
"We will declare war on (Target Country) through a surprise attack. When activated all prepared Port Strike and Strategic Bombing in the target region will execute multiple times without air defense being able to intercept them."
This is to simulate the Pearl Harbor-attack and the start of Operation Barbarossa IRL.
it is worthy? what structure is best to focus on bombarding?
@@fele09 idk about strat bombing, but i sank 4 british carriers in scapa flow once (i unfortunatly didnt do the coordinated strike upgrade) with just 300 tacticals. Works even better with naval bombers.

@@signoguns8501 durimg WW2, Hitler sent a telegram to the Mexican President asking them to join the Axis as a way to assault the USA from a direct border. They declined luckily for us.

Mexico is a really satisfying focus tree. Just takes to long to get stuff done in SP. Also it doesn't give enough research buffs. But dealing with all the problems is so fun.
I never noticed Mexico's cruiser could become a pride of the fleet that is really smart.
how do i get it? is there a dlc for it? i boot up the reg game with no mods and just la resitance and i have a base tree for mexico

I played a game as Democratic Mexico and focused entirely on being a naval power. Mexico destroyed 95% of Japanese convos. Starved them out of China. Eventually had Japan surrounded and had them defeated in 1943 with a USA land invasion. I had a blast.
I had Mexico stop the fall of Poland, it was a bastard of a fight, especially difficult to survive in the beginning but if you make it even for just one year you snowball so freaking hard that it's literally impossible for Germany to take over unless you screw up royally, the biggest problem is U-boats those things will Savage your convoys if the brits aren't doing their part.

I played vanilla focus tree Mexico yesterday. That was absolute hell. Especially the part when the Allies AND the Axis declared war on me. Then I was puppeted by the Germans, immediately lost all my land to the US, and was incapable of doing anything until I gave up in 1950. Never again
My first game was with no DLC's, I thought the guarantee would pop in if I went for centroamerica so I just stood there (historical AI off) and eventually tried to pull off a terrible attack, but I had to justify war goal, so they built up their border troops
Fun fact: Mexico's official name is Mexican United States. For real.

This is, by far, the best United States video I have seen.
You aren't conquering as democratic you're "Liberating" those countries
the coordinated strike makes it that any strategic bombing or naval strikes over enemy areas will get a bunch of free runs off damaging stuff before they can counter. its basically a surprise bombing run but only works if u have the bombers in place before the war starts.

This seems fun. I've been trying to do Trotsico and claim my American borders. Maybe I need to try getting the achievements seperately.
Italy really does needs a new focus tree. Its my favourite nation; it has a good basis for naval combat, decent land war options and with the right tree could be a diverse power.
The only reason it hasn't got one it would require them to rewrite the tutorial. It should take a page out of the Turkey Tree, with multiple paths eventually reconsolidating into a "Reform Rome" Path. Most importantly, it should have multiple Rome Decisions, so that you can reform at least a bit of Rome, even if you're allied.
I think the next DLC might be a Rome + Middle East expansion. Rome's most consistent enemy (At least, at the height of its power) Was Parthia. Ie, Iran/Iraq. The DLC Could include a Tree for Italy, Iraq, Iran, and a shared Tree for Arabian States (Saudi, Oman, Yemen, and the released Kuwait, AUE, Egypt.

Quick thing i found while doing this
After you get a war goal against haiti, they shit divisions out like crazy and become near impossible to invade (cus they stack 16 divisions on their capital)
so invade haiti ASAP after Cuba
Personally got tired of Haiti doing this so I always invade the Dominican Republic first. WAY easier to naval invade

Trying to replicate this I was to blind to see that I was lacking naval transports. That set me back 135 days trying to pass Panama.

This was a great US video Dave.
Coordinated strike can be really good depending on if you use it right. It doesn't do anything on its own, you have to prepare your airforce to make use of it. Basically it causes the entire airforce in that region in the first few hours in the war to do like a dozen missions which can't be intercepted. I've used it to destroy most of the Japanese navy as Russia before, and if you use strategic bombers you could potentially devastate an entire industrial region. It's very hit or miss though so you got to set it up. Keep in mind the point of it is to allow you to simulate a pearl harbor or barbarosa type of air attack, where your nation "declares war" using a surprise attack, so the agents aren't really doing anything, it's your military which has to do all the work. Also it only works on land so if the country has put most of their navy out to sea when it happens you're out of luck (but usually the ai at least keeps their capital ships in port because they're fuel guzzlers).
