    Nice simple explanation/graphics - I had SLT yesterday and it's nothing to be scared about. Just relax since there's no pain. Don't drive for 8 hours until clear vision returns!

    I had this done recently for eye pressure. The procedure is painless and lasts only 2-3 minutes. However, I developed light sensitivity as a side effect, for which they gave me eye drops to help heal.

    Hello ladies and gentlemen from India. I am an aspiring ophthalmologist and wanted to enquire about the upsides and downsides of taking ophthalmology as a specialty. Thank you for your time and patience.

      Laser beams can be adjusted finely to affect certain tissue and not others. The type of laser used for this tissue would have minimal effect on the cornea.

    • @salsahot
      @salsahot 5 ปีที่แล้ว

      No, the cornea is transparent to the laser, so no energy gets absorbed

      I believe because the laser is not in focus on the cornea it doesn’t cause damage to it. Similar to yag laser capsulotomy in patients with PCO..
