I've always wondered why (at 4:36) after sending her son to his room, Ralphie's Mother decided to put the bar of soap into her mouth? Maybe she felt kind of guilty for punishing her son & wanted to know what he was feeling/what the soap tasted like? Maybe she's also said the word in the past & felt like she needed to be punished as well?

@@violinistvanessa0922 if it’s said only once in a movie, the movie automatically gets rated PG-13 for language. More than once, it’s automatically rated R for language m.

He blames Schwartz and Mrs. Parker calls up Mrs. Schwartz for no reason for the accusation of Schwartz teaching Ralphie the F word and Schwartz's mom beats up Schwartz because she believed it, but it was not Schwartz it was Ralphie's dad

My opinion: when Mrs. Parker called up Mrs. Schwartz for for accusion of Schwartz teaching Ralphie the swear word. I think it would be better for Mrs. Schwartz to respond:
Mrs. Schwartz: I think Ralphie is blaming my son because Schwartz wouldn't do such a thing like that. It was probably his dad that taught him the word
Mrs. Parker: Oh you're probably right, I'm sorry about that. I will talk to Ralphie about his accusion of Schwartz teaching him the word. Have a great rest of your day. Sorry I bothered you.

Nice Video! I'm surprised the narrator didn't say Ivory Soap or Camay. They are popular back then too in Ralphie's day in December 1940 along with Lux, Palmolive, and Lifebuoy.
I felt so bad for Schwartz. My parents beat me. Sometimes for shit I didn't do. I felt this scene too much 😥

In the old days, you could put soap in your child's mouth. Today you can't do that. I had soap in my mouth once because I bit somebody.
Back when I was a young kid in the 2000s I would get my mouth washed out with soap for lying to my mom and there was this one time I also got my mouth washed with soap for yelling at my dad in 2009 but I mostly got my mouth washed with soap for lying
Well how are parents supposed to punish their kids if they get caught swearing if they’re not supposed to wash their kids mouth out with soap
The reason why you can't do that anymore is because it's now considered child abuse.
