I wish that we would stay with chapters for longer, the past few chapters have been called bad because we just don’t have enough time with each chapter. If we just got live events like this for a few more seasons I feel like chapter 5 would sit better
The Fortnite community is so entitle, and they'll realize eventually. I feel like as I've grown older I've realized that there hasn't really been a period where this game has been abysmal or terrible (Yes, it has had horrible seasons, but that doesn't mean you couldn't play the game or there weren't people who were actively enjoying those bad seasons) and I've really taken things for granted in the past, I used to loathe C2S8 for really petty reasons, but as I grew older I realized that the season was in fact amazing and bombarded with content.
This was the best event since big bang in my opinion, and best in chapter 5. Ppl need to realize that these events are only supposed to be mini events with the map that help to develop the storyline of the chapter until the very end. Plus I appreciate that we are even getting in game live events at all. Chapter 4 had none of those which in my opinion made the storyline bland, un progressive, and just boring as fuck. I understand that many might have not favored this event, but personally I did like and appreciate this event. Plus there is still another live event before the end of Season 4 that will transition us to Season OG, this didn’t happen in chapter 4 when it should’ve. Sorry about the AP yapping 💀
To complain about mini events is crazy we didn’t have one all of chapter 4 and now we finally have one that has a cutscene which we haven’t seen in a year since big bang. Yeah I miss the old live events but at least we’re getting things
Well, the largest portion of the games community is children. Most of today's children are "entitled" and "unappreciative." Makes sense to me. Crying about skins not returning when they can enjoy the game with any skin, Complaining about Marvel stuff they cannot have anymore, Calling people that have been playing the game for years and have stuff they do not "gatekeepers", and saying that the live events have been bad when almost no other game is making live events as engaging as Fortnite. Today's kids must learn to go outside and see that life has more to offer than spamming the Sweeny family on social media before they end up being the Fortnite version of a Disney adult in the future.
I dont think its a bad event, it was just hyped up a ton with a teaser trailer and stuff, something like the Pandoras Box event was a crazy surprise and interesting because we've had little like it before, however we didnt get a ton of teasers or confirmations from the Fortnite twitter or youtube and were just put to our own beliefs, nobody bats an eye and nobody becomes annoyed. Its not the event itself, its the high expectations that were set by Epic Games (tbf tho i think it wouldve been cool to get a damaged style for doom like how we got a style for eminem in the big bang)
People simply now just profit off the hate and if you like the game you get torched and called a sheep by the bandwagon who hate the game at any chance they get
i agree, and as an og who's stuck with the game through its ups and downs, people still want a reason to hate. like at some point i fear epic wont give a shit anymore and will forget about the game completely
@@plasticelephant1969yes and epic games set such high expectations but can’t meet them anymore because they have to split devs with Lego racing and music
Ive been playing Fortnite since around 2019 and the doctor doom live event was my first live event all the others unfortunately happened while i was busy, i enjoyed this event so much, and i loved the cutscene at the beginning, epic cooked with this event!
Thank you so much for finally saying this at first i was pretty upset about how the events were tiny and didnt do much but i still do appreciate thay epic is still giving us some small events that play into the story what i dont understand is why people are so spoiled with the events😊
I’ve was unfortunately deep into the Apex community for a while and I can firmly tell you that if you made a Fortnite player play apex and be part of the community for a year, they would have so much more appreciation for what Fortnite does. Apex players seriously get excited for cosmetic events where the whole thing is *only* $160. That’s insane. And Fortnite players get upset that we’re getting live events again.
I thought that for a smaller live event, it was alright. I feel like Epic Games was experimenting with this one and that a community led boss fight was a clever idea.
imo this is more of an extension of the internet in general being a toxic echo chamber. Every fanbase has moments where everyone seemingly unanimously disapproves of a change or addition of something in their media. Epic should continue doing their own thing and take risks even if it’s entirely disliked at first.
As my first true TRUE live event (Black Hole barley counts because it was 90% ad), I absolutely loved it. I hope that this event proved to Epic that people do want them, along with the story. I entered during Chapter 4 so I didn't really get to experience live events or much of a story, but Chapter 5 has really brought me back in. Actual story, voice lines, mini events and live events. I really hope Epic will continue doing this for now on and hopefully next chapter will be even better and crazier (please bring the Seven and Geno back) Also as someone who loves the Multiverse and even wrote a fan story where series like Star Wars, Marvel, DC, ATLA, Attack on Titan, and many more existed in a Multiverse, this game lets me experience that, which is something I never thought was possible.
At this rate, I need to move on from this game. I’m not liking anything, about this game rn. Sure, the events are good, they just don’t hit the same for me anymore. Almost got killed during the last mini events. I’m just not one to like community based events. Always being killed, I just love seeing events where we know we have safety. Chapter 5 has been horrible for me. And lots of other players.
I’ve enjoyed all of chapter 5, but the only thing I haven’t enjoyed the most are the live events, not everyone is ungrateful, just some people like things that others dont like, such as contents in live events, it’s inevitable that a certain group in the community will be unhappy
I think i know what the problem is..the people who complain about every little thing (except the locker complaint and item shop) They glaze the hell out of Chapter 1 so much is because they miss being that kid or that time in 2018, they wanna relive that moment before they grew up. Why do you think most keep saying "What is fortnite now" or "Chapter 1 is so much better"
I am happy with where Fortnite is going rn because I feel like after a damp storyline in chapter 4, this is an improvement. What I really think is happening right now is that Fortnite is transitioning into a new era where they are starting to find a nice middle ground.
My issue with live events is that it’s a one time thing. I wanted to do the live event but that would’ve been around 3am for me as I live in Japan. Having kids does not grant me the opportunity to do the live events anymore. I don’t hate epic for that it’s just how things are. I wish they’d add on a playable event after the live event that people could do when they log in. It could be similar to when they introduced the primal season. Just have you and/or your team fight doom and all the other people are just npcs. They’ve generated npcs into live events such as they did with Skyfire. (The event not the badass Autobot.) it would give people the chance to experience it at least to some degree.
I despise most of the fortnite community and heres why: -Recently fortnite have given us everything we wanted: in C4 S4 we got another heist season with the famous mythics. In season OG we returned to OG fortnite. In C5 S1 we got mods, trains and peter which people wanted for ages. In c5 s2 we got midas return. In c5 s3 we got veichle mods which many people wanted, as well and an acpolypse theme which was very requested. And now, in this season we finally have another marvel season which everypne wanted. Plus not to mention that they finally did live events again. This chapter has been a blast and we have been given everything we wanted. As a coder, I know how long the updates and features take to make, and the fact we get them nearly weekly is insane. People have the audicity to nitpick about every minor thing, but I can only imigine how much hard work epic game put in to making their game. -Secondly, I get so mad when peoplr say fortnite is greedy. Explain this: A non pay-to-win, free game with weekly major content, a battle royale gamemode with amazing graphics and map design, a entire FREE minecraft clone that gets way more regular updates than minecraft, thousands of gamemodes being made daily AND the game still doesnt force you to spend money, as skins arent needed and there are still so many you can get for free. Sorry for the rant, but its needed.
Although I do miss the big events we used to have gotten from previous chapters, I do admit this is a good compromise. Chapter 4 with barely any events except the Big Bang event felt empty, so these mini-events sure are a work around, and especially this live event is a step up from this chapter! Sure, the ending was…eh, but in terms of events, this is a step in the right direction.
I think I’m aware of what Klarque is talking about towards the end about a project. If it’s what I think it is, i’m part of the team that is putting it together and you guys are in for a treat. I’m not going to say what it is, and i’m not part of it directly, but I cannot wait for you guys to see what is cooking right now.
I think this event would’ve been much better if instead if it lasting over multiple games, Doom had much less health and could’ve been defeated in a few minutes, it would’ve felt a lot like the older events
The live events are like watching party events to club penguin. They celebrate the ppl who play and enjoy the game…the community. Doesn’t matter if they are terrible or not. We are still experiencing the event together and having a blast. I remember last year when me and a couple ppl joined to watch the Big Bang (season og event) and one of them decided to first play an emote that lets a lot of ppl join (and lots of them did). The. Afterwards the same guy decided to do the train emote and said line was long as heck. Didn’t matter if the event was shit. It was still something I enjoyed cuz I was with friends.
man you are my favorite fortnite creator I love you! Also that might come off a little weird but I really like how you talk. I am not american but almost all media I consume is and most americans seem to have 5 words in their vocabulary. Its so nice to hear someone say words like profound.
I genuinely enjoyed it. Taking on one of Marvel’s most notorious Villains with 5.7 million other players was awesome. One thing that I personally wish we got is if it was its own mode. We could have gotten a mix of old and new marvel powers and have damage increase over time. But I understand that it was supposed to be a community event.
Fortnite live events are meant for friends and players to have fun as a community not to be a laughing stock for everyone to say how bad it was and that Fortnite is losing there identity live events are something a community can watch together
We will never be happy, because epic waisted almost a year of what could have been greatness, but was instead, horrible boring meta and terrible story telling and just overall a huge change nobody wanted.
We need to encourage epic, not tear them down I remember my first live event in chapter 2 season 4, fighting Galactus was the coolest feeling ever, I'm more grown now and other people should be able to enjoy live events without a bunch of low life complainers tearing everyone down.
Someone who has been playing Dead by Daylight for years. I know that all too well with the community act like children like they rework a perk, and the community throws a fit or make a change to the game.
Everything about this live event was very fun... until that ending. The reason I don't like this live event is because of how anti-climatic it was to just successfully teleport Doom away without ANY narrative casualties. Every villain has been defeated so easily in this chapter, and I just wanted Doom to have some kind of trick up his sleeve. I hope Doom comes back before the session ends so I can fully like this event since the event itself was fun, but wow did it lower the stakes of the story for me.
I wouldn’t say this event was bad, for me it just felt underwhelming. Doom shows up and we fight him for an hour and that’s it. No falling action (the part of the story that happens after the climax) makes me upset as they did an amazing job setting Dr.Doom up as a serious threat. But we just shoot him for an hour and that’s it. I bet I would feel less this way if the event was shorter around 30 minutes would have been good.
I wouldn’t say it was terrible but it felt extremely underwhelming for a “boss fight” if you could even call it that. When you think of a DOOM boss fight you think of an actual….ya know….fight, I mean it’s literally Doctor Doom the main antagonist of the season. I played it with my younger sister and my good friend and we all felt extremely disappointed. But I have hope for the rumored Mephisto fight at the end of the season. I only criticize Fortnite because I want it to be better for everyone, I hope you could understand.
The cutscene was fine but shooting at Doom for an hour was not it. Doom wasn’t even a challenge so it was basically like shooting at a wall for an hour. I’d rather have a 1 minute live event than a 1 hour one.
I actually thought the event was good, and I liked it. Sure, it might not be the best, and I might not have loved it, but I liked it. I will say though, saying it’s the best event since Collision is pushing it, considering we had the Big Bang event (definitely competes with Fracture though)
I disagree with your last point. Storytelling and gameplay are not as simple as liking or disliking ice cream flavors. Opinions should be backed up by reasoning, not just consisting of I liked it or disliked it.
Klarque soo I’m curious about your thoughts on this . With the rise of more v.r games and epic making first person mode / first person mode being in the works for many years . Do you think we will eventually see a day where there is v.r live events and possibly VR exclusive live events . Obviously there is one logistic holding back this idea being vr isn’t easily accessible . But maybe just first person mode for live events ?
Yeah, people need to expand their perspective, I have seen so many people on youtube or twitter that feel that the whole playerbase is their community, and they are always complaining that some features shouldnt be in the game, statements like who plays that or who cares about this or that collab but they are not taking into count that they most likely are the 5% at best of the whole Fortnite playerbase, I have so many friends that dont watch fortnite content or interact on X about the game that do care about lego, festival, some collabs, etc. The fact that everyone surrounding you have a similar opinion doesnt really means that that is the case for everyone, some people love this game but they limit themselves to play it and thats it, they do enjoy some things other players dont and thats fine.
As much as I don't really like the whole "metaverse" Idea, the more I think about this, the more taking resoruces from br makes sense to me. It was baisically a long time investment, just look how many people started playing only because of Lego mode, or Festival, I even know people that started because of Peter Griffin, with how many new ways there is to monetize the game, Epic can easily multiply the resources for every mode. The only thing that I'm not sure about are the uefn creator payouts, because most of the maps that make milions are just clickbaity AI slop
It wasnt exactly great. Being the best of this chapter isnt saying much considering the bar is low rn. This live event was practically the Storm King's LTM but lesss eventful. They could have done way more and a lot better on what they did in fact do. It was lazy on hindsight. A cutscene and shooting a glorified NPC for over 30 minutes can only do so much, the formula did not live up to the idea which is one I appreciate This chapter feels like an experiment, one not exactly going so well
when you said that the cube moving throughout the island was less than what we got with the doom event i just do not agree. i can feel the aura of the cube but i just dont think that doom event had aura and felt anti climatic. I and many other people just arent going to sit there for an hour shooting something that does the same attacks over and over but the cube added to the gameplay and was interesting. i think the event this chapter that had the mount olympus statue shoot lighting everywhere was more interesting and engaging than this event simply because it was way more mysterious and no one really knew why it was happening. the event needs to be engaging for it to be good. then again its only my opinion and im not whining about it i think it served its purpose storyline wise.
I personally only really started playing when my friends from school invited me in Chapter 5, season 2. From that point until now, I've been loving and grinding the game. Sooo much fun, especially with my little brother. And the doom live event was our first live event. Awesome 😎 #lovefortine

i guess that mentionning the bad writing where doom blocks the bullets in the cinematic part of the event and then he suddenly stops to block bullets is being ungratfull like the event team always cooks with the vfx but on the writing part that event was ass

Usually, if a live event is big, it will have a timer in the lobby, if the timer is only in game, it’s meant to be a small mini one
Also, dope video big dawg
Jigsaw: Your final challenge! Don't complain about something in Fortnite for 5 minutes!
Fortnite Community: Aww hell naw yo ass tweaking jigsaw!!!
Its not the event itself, its the high expectations that were set by Epic Games
(tbf tho i think it wouldve been cool to get a damaged style for doom like how we got a style for eminem in the big bang)
7:22 SOOO WHOLESOME 🥹
Losers are giving Charlie not enough credit dude..
People simply now just profit off the hate and if you like the game you get torched and called a sheep by the bandwagon who hate the game at any chance they get
I will say you’ve definitely change my point of view.. I’m genuinely surprised you don’t have more subscribers
just as much as the cod community... although CoD community has a valid reason to complain 😬
i agree, and as an og who's stuck with the game through its ups and downs, people still want a reason to hate. like at some point i fear epic wont give a shit anymore and will forget about the game completely
I haven't watched this video yet, but the title is more than the truth
It isn't? It is a blatant lie, everyone loved EVERY SINGLE live event during chapter 2.
@@plasticelephant1969yes and epic games set such high expectations but can’t meet them anymore because they have to split devs with Lego racing and music
@@plasticelephant1969 Did you read my comment?
@@plasticelephant1969my guy you are so blinded
Ive been playing Fortnite since around 2019 and the doctor doom live event was my first live event all the others unfortunately happened while i was busy, i enjoyed this event so much, and i loved the cutscene at the beginning, epic cooked with this event!
Thank you so much for finally saying this at first i was pretty upset about how the events were tiny and didnt do much but i still do appreciate thay epic is still giving us some small events that play into the story what i dont understand is why people are so spoiled with the events😊
0:32 this community isn't ready to hear that
I really prefer a mini event each season than a big event each chapter or just cinematics each season, it makes fun the last weeks of each season
Im convinced that if the c5 seasons released in 2020 then they would be so loved right now.
8:47 i wonder who might be animating this 👀🤔
I’ve was unfortunately deep into the Apex community for a while and I can firmly tell you that if you made a Fortnite player play apex and be part of the community for a year, they would have so much more appreciation for what Fortnite does.
I really hope Epic will continue doing this for now on and hopefully next chapter will be even better and crazier (please bring the Seven and Geno back)
Also as someone who loves the Multiverse and even wrote a fan story where series like Star Wars, Marvel, DC, ATLA, Attack on Titan, and many more existed in a Multiverse, this game lets me experience that, which is something I never thought was possible.
I didn't even attend 💀. I had work, like a normal person.
I just dropped a 16 bomb today in squads, winning a Victory Royale in zero build. But besides that I agree with the video.
This event was fun. Imo. Also like cyan said, its the first big boss fight in br weve ever had. Were we actually fight the boss.
Really cool.
I despise most of the fortnite community and heres why:
-Recently fortnite have given us everything we wanted: in C4 S4 we got another heist season with the famous mythics.
To be honest it felt kinda lackluster when doom was just taken down so easy
Existing to hate is a miserable life...
My hole lobby danced in victory after defeating doom before killing each other i got 2th most fun ive had in a event
I actually thought the event was good, and I liked it. Sure, it might not be the best, and I might not have loved it, but I liked it. I will say though, saying it’s the best event since Collision is pushing it, considering we had the Big Bang event
(definitely competes with Fracture though)
I disagree with your last point. Storytelling and gameplay are not as simple as liking or disliking ice cream flavors. Opinions should be backed up by reasoning, not just consisting of I liked it or disliked it.
I do think fracture was not the best, but the big bang was a solid event.
I strongly agree that are voices should be heard about Fortnite changes that we want to be put into the game everyone has voice to speak out
Ngl, I think if he rocket event was done today, it would be more hated (assuming it had never happened in s4)
It wasnt exactly great. Being the best of this chapter isnt saying much considering the bar is low rn.
This live event was practically the Storm King's LTM but lesss eventful. They could have done way more and a lot better on what they did in fact do. It was lazy on hindsight. A cutscene and shooting a glorified NPC for over 30 minutes can only do so much, the formula did not live up to the idea which is one I appreciate
This chapter feels like an experiment, one not exactly going so well
when you said that the cube moving throughout the island was less than what we got with the doom event i just do not agree. i can feel the aura of the cube but i just dont think that doom event had aura and felt anti climatic.
I miss live event concerts like the Travis concert on the island not some creative uefn map, not saying they are outright bad, but I wish they would do the concerts again on the island because it was more enjoyable and fun that way
Thanks for sharing and keep up the great work
As ive been saying, I, me specifically, did not like this event but I can see the effort put into it and what its meant to be
I didn't get to enjoy Sora in Sma5h enough and now I'm here since Ch2
FN Has flaws but I appreciate it more then Sma5h
Marvel or collab lore related…..it’s pretty self explanatory…
The clinically online will never be happy😹🗣️
i guess that mentionning the bad writing where doom blocks the bullets in the cinematic part of the event and then he suddenly stops to block bullets is being ungratfull like the event team always cooks with the vfx but on the writing part that event was ass
Love your videos man. Can tell you got a lot of passion and love for these topics. Keep up the great work bro🙂↕️
The Dr. Doom live event we just had was so cool and it was the best event we have had since Collision this event was so good and the best event of ch5 but we will have a huge live event before ch2 OG as well so this huge one will be really good hopefully
It’s a mini event it’s not meant to be compared to a full on event
