Super pumped that you guys are building that sled. I own one and the race chassis 440s are becoming more and more rare. Its going to be sweet to see what you guys do with it. Keep up the good work!
I got his big brother. A Firecat F7. Great sleds! Didn't think it would be so good in the pow, but it just plows through it like a champ! :) With the big bore, its gonna be a beast!
just thought I'd mention that the rear cooler has been added on, the 440's came with only the bulkhead cooler and it looks like the adjustable part of the steering is off an 06. I had one of these and loved it, the narrow tunnel really is a noticable difference from most sleds. ps. glad to see a cat in the lineup!!
I used to have a 440/700. very fun sled. these were cool because when skidoo came out with the Rev race sled arctic cat just modified the firecat to make it rider forward. if you compare it to a firecat you sit about a foot farther forward. these were always the quickest 440's back in the day
would love to see u mod up a srx700. they are wicked fast and very reliable. just pulled the cyls off of my 98 and they look like new .never been rebuilt and now has 22,000kms.
I just sold my 04 Snopro 440/600 EFI mod! When you do a track extension on this remember, you CANNOT use a Firecat track! Firecats are a 2.52 pitch and 04-07 snopro's are 3.0 pitch. The splines on the jackshaft and driveshaft are different from a Firecat so gearing is very herd to find. Watch for cracks in the bulkhead, cat's from this era were notorious for this. This is a very fun, light, and narrow chassis, you're in for a hell of a ride!
Neat little fact Louie. Because those sleds were strictly designed for racing, they never came with a rear heat exchanger. Less weight, and with the snow conditions on the race track those sleds wouldn't have any issues with cooling. Someone added the cooling system form a Firecat to it, as in rear heat exchanger, and the exhangers on the side of the running boards. Also, that rear bumper is off of a Firecat as well.
I think Louis is REALLY excited about this one. I'm not a cat guy (my buddies are). This will hopefully be an eye opener as to what a Cat really is, and what it can take.
an 05 AC in your quarters?? WOW! Now I don't feel so bad for driving a 1998 Ski Doo Mach 1 that has been completely restored, but of course, nobody on the trails would ever think that it was;)
I think you guys should pick up a Sno Pro 500. Put a 720 speedwerx big bore kit and make the first ever snopro 500 720 with a long track kit, would be a sick sled to add to the collection and a crazy boon docking sled, Maybe even make the first ever supercharged on, can never go wrong with that sled. or you could leave it stock... but we are taking about powermodz here haha.
I have the same sled and it didn't have the take off I thought it should and it turned out the primary clutch spring was broke. After I replaced it the sled is a rocketship. I recommend keeping it a short track for back country because you can "flick" it easier!!!
im pretty pumped you picked up a cat to tinker with.even though im a cat guy i watch all these videos, but i think i found my new favorite project! i just sold a snopro 440 myself actually not long ago, as i wanted to do a project similar to this but my other cats kept getting in the way lol. that being said id say whoever did the 600 started to trail convert it, as that rear cooler didnt come on the 440. looks to me like an F serious donated some parts to that little guy, but i cant wait to watch this project unfold!
Louie, I think your gonna love that sled. I have an 04 sabercat 700. Same firecat chassis, just set up a lil different. I ride it on the trails & ditch bang it. I upgraded from a 97 polaris ultra and i didn't feel it to be tipsy. Handles way better. Awsome power. Can't wait to see how your track upgrade goes. would love to stretch mine to 141.
Not another mountain mod!!! Love your videos Louie, but keep this one a short track!!! This sled would make a perfect ditch banger! 136" at the most. Personally I'd love to see a short track ditch banger build. I'm sure whatever you do it will be interesting, just my opinion..
Finally :-) Gives me more of a reason to watch !! I'm with you though(from previous video) I will ride any sled you put in front of me, I just prefer arctic cat at the moment. P.s. Make us cat fans proud!
Louis you should keep this one a 129"..... you already have enough mountain sleds. You should throw that 925 big bore in it and keep it as a ditch banger. Just my thoughts!
Having an 800 in a 440 chassis especially a sno pro chassis you're going to be having minor tweaks in mounts and minor things from all the torque that motor will be making unless you reinforce the chassis. I have a 97' zr440 and that alone is tearing sheet metal in certain places. But there clutches are pretty simple! Good luck, I cant wait for the finished product!
Cool Im glad to see you do different sleds. It gives you a different perspective. Im a Polaris guy, but the sled Im working on is a mutt but its main chassis is a Polaris Ultra. I would really like to see a Polaris XCR 800 RMK build. Oh I see you got a Boondoker Turbo I think you should mod that engine and turbo it. Theres one on TH-cam, also you can really big bore those engines and mod them. Just a thought. Keep up the good work I enjoy it!!
Just picked up a 2016 polaris switchback assault 800 with 378 miles for dirt cheap of my buddy who bought it stored it at my house and went on a 1 weekend ride with me so I had to grab it but I want a rmk 800 or 850 but wishful thinking for this year lol
the steering has a recall as the sled is a firecat it is just the factory race sled if you look under the hood at the steering shaft if it has been done there will be blocks on the steering to fix that however it will always have play in i know this because i have a firecat that was a snocross sled and was rebuilt by d and d racing you might also want to check the coolant system as those leak and another thing you might want to do is make sure your senadry shafty is alined and bearings are good or you will be shreding secondarys
Do you have to custom make the Seat Frame? I wanna swap the 440 seat onto my F5 snowpro. Wondering if i have to make the mount or does it come on the 440 already?
I'm 99% sure I have this exact sled, I bought it off of a guy about 2 months ago and he said he got the sled off of you guys. Just wondering if you guys have any idea on what year the engines from exactly.
My 02 440 sno pro started bogging wen I recently ran it for the first time this winter i think its the carbs being gunked up from the bad gas whats the easiest solution besides pulling both the carbs
Are you going to change the final drive to match all the Power of a 928? i have heard that the modern sleds can only get about 115 mph, thats all the tracks can handle, is this true? are going to produce build video's as you go?
Super pumped that you guys are building that sled. I own one and the race chassis 440s are becoming more and more rare. Its going to be sweet to see what you guys do with it. Keep up the good work!
I can see an ultimate ditch ridder right here!pretty cool little purchase!
I got his big brother. A Firecat F7. Great sleds! Didn't think it would be so good in the pow, but it just plows through it like a champ! :) With the big bore, its gonna be a beast!
Yesssss! Finally got a cat! I have a 2006 440 chassis with the 2006 F6 motor! Things are beasts!
looking forward to watching this powermodz build going to be awesome sled when done
just thought I'd mention that the rear cooler has been added on, the 440's came with only the bulkhead cooler and it looks like the adjustable part of the steering is off an 06. I had one of these and loved it, the narrow tunnel really is a noticable difference from most sleds. ps. glad to see a cat in the lineup!!
just picked up a 03 zr440 myself can't wait to see what you do to yours don't keep me waiting Louie lol
heck yeah that motor is going to be a beast in that sled cant wait to see it finished love your videos !!!
I used to have a 440/700. very fun sled. these were cool because when skidoo came out with the Rev race sled arctic cat just modified the firecat to make it rider forward. if you compare it to a firecat you sit about a foot farther forward. these were always the quickest 440's back in the day
First mod fire extinguisher strapped to tunnel !
Lol yes i agree
would love to see u mod up a srx700. they are wicked fast and very reliable. just pulled the cyls off of my 98 and they look like new .never been rebuilt and now has 22,000kms.
been a long time coming to see a green machine on the show.
I just sold my 04 Snopro 440/600 EFI mod! When you do a track extension on this remember, you CANNOT use a Firecat track! Firecats are a 2.52 pitch and 04-07 snopro's are 3.0 pitch. Beautiful machine, can't wait to see her after you're done with her.
Neat little fact Louie. Because those sleds were strictly designed for racing, they never came with a rear heat exchanger. +Jackson Murray i think the 925 will fit the bill:)
+PowerModz For sure can't wait to see the build! should be a crazy sled
+1 yep up next sp500 lol
Great show guy's. Looking forward to seeing what that Cat can do.
I have the same sled and it didn't have the take off I thought it should and it turned out the primary clutch spring was broke. After I replaced it the sled is a rocketship. I recommend keeping it a short track for back country because you can "flick" it easier!!!

"what we have here is another downed cat"
yesss about time you do something with the firecat/sno pro haha love it.
Louie, I think your gonna love that sled. I have an 04 sabercat 700. Same firecat chassis, just set up a lil different. I ride it on the trails & ditch bang it. +Eric Witthoeft mine is EFI too.
Cool sled, I'm looking forward to the tear down and build videos
Not another mountain mod!!! Love your videos Louie, but keep this one a short track!!! This sled would make a perfect ditch banger! 136" at the most. Personally I'd love to see a short track ditch banger build. I'm sure whatever you do it will be interesting, just my opinion..
amazing! love them machines! with the new motor and track it will be crazyy!
Red circles in the air box are called bulls eyes fyi. Love the video, currently installing nitrous on my Arctic cat.
cat riders love the sloppy handle bars, got it on my 800 ctossfire.
What do I think you ask. I think you will always have something to work on now you got a arctic cat in your shop .👍
All the people who hate arctic cat should try out a TCAT they'll piss their pants
Or even the 900 big twin walks on most 800s beat lots of 2010+ sleds on my 2001 zr800 with a 900 big twin
This is going to be a fun project to watch!
Looking forward to the 155 mod!!! Awesome!!!!
the two coolant lines behind carbs are suppose to have a line that connects the two and then runs back under the motor to a nipple by the water pump
cant wait to see the build for this sled. going to be great!!
Finally :-) Gives me more of a reason to watch !! I'm with you though(from previous video) I will ride any sled you put in front of me, I just prefer arctic cat at the moment. P.s. Make us cat fans proud!
should be interesting, can't wait to see what you do with it.
Glad to finally see a Cat in the house...
I had a 2006 Sno pro 440 last year. Melted a piston out riding and one cylinder only had 65 psi funny this is though it still ran and idled great lol.
Bought time you got an Arctic Cat. It’s all I ride.
Iv always loved that sled with the 600/800 swap
cool! something I can maybe afford!
Louis you should keep this one a 129"..... you already have enough mountain sleds. You should throw that 925 big bore in it and keep it as a ditch banger. Just my thoughts!
I’d love to see a long track on that, in deep powder
I'd love to see this this winter.
About time I see a cat.
That thing is going to be a Monster

That's going to be an awesome build with the 928 big bore. should cheak out Black Magic racing for arctic cat .They have a awesome cluch Quick shift
Glad you finally got a cat!
Was thinking about doin a rev 440/800 this summer but I'm startin to like the snopro 440/700 a lil better lol.
those leaking caps go to your cooling system!! reconnect! for the front of your jugs.
Excited to see how this thing turns out!
What happens to the arctic cat? I've been watch all you're videos and I haven't seen any other videos about it.
Barett Gunderson blew up right away
Peanut Butter Baby suzuki engines are bulletproof you dumb fuck 😂
About time u get an Arctic Cat
Needs some TLC but great pick up !
So what happened with this cat?
that thing is going to be awesome
Nice 440s are awesome 440mods are better looking forward to sled getting the powermodz treatment!
Nice sled I'm building a 1999 ski doo formula 500!! And I'm 15
Heck yea get going! TH-cam is pretty stale lately and we are hungry for a good project! Get those vids coming ASAP!!!
Finally a cat
Just picked up a 2016 polaris switchback assault 800 with 378 miles for dirt cheap of my buddy who bought it stored it at my house and went on a 1 weekend ride with me so I had to grab it but I want a rmk 800 or 850 but wishful thinking for this year lol
DONT WRECK A SNOPRO!!!!!! YOU COULD HAVE USED A FIRECAT!!!!!!
Make certain to get lots of belts ;)
yeaa!!!! finally got a cat!!! nice sled louie
Louis, your Canadian right? Have you ever contact any of the Canadian engine builders? Arctic Edge and Mad Motorsports build a pretty insane 925.
the steering has a recall as the sled is a firecat it is just the factory race sled if you look under the hood at the steering shaft if it has been done there will be blocks on the steering to fix that however it will always have play in i know this because i have a firecat that was a snocross sled and was rebuilt by d and d racing you might also want to check the coolant system as those leak and another thing you might want to do is make sure your senadry shafty is alined and bearings are good or you will be shreding secondarys
Worked in the AC plant for 12 yrs.....
I got a sno pro 440 first year of the firecat you want it lol it's all trail converted got adjustable timing runs on pump gas
im so existed to see how this comes out
Question if you still look at this. I’m building up my 09 m1000. One thing I’m looking for is a metal nose cone. Any thoughts or ideas?
when are these vids coming out
It’s always the same. People hate cats till they ride one… my buddies are SHOCKED when they ride my cfr1K.
VERY CURIOUS HERE. New video on this soon??
Do you have to custom make the Seat Frame? I wanna swap the 440 seat onto my F5 snowpro. Wondering if i have to make the mount or does it come on the 440 already?
I love this build
I have had one Crossfire 1000....first and the last time i had a arctic crap...
You should get on of the Polaris edge 600 2001-2003 and mod it out
How are the 2008 snopro trail sleds f1000 or f8000 pros and cons
That thing will go like a bat out of hell after the mods
What is the intro song. Really like the song
so now that your playing with cats when are you going to get an 1100 turbo? maybe an m1100/m9000?
I'm 99% sure I have this exact sled, I bought it off of a guy about 2 months ago and he said he got the sled off of you guys. Just wondering if you guys have any idea on what year the engines from exactly.
yessss Finally you heard my prayers
I gotta firecat f5 and was wondering if you knew what kinda coolant it takes
When will you do the extension??
My 02 440 sno pro started bogging wen I recently ran it for the first time this winter i think its the carbs being gunked up from the bad gas whats the easiest solution besides pulling both the carbs
hey! can you start the progres on the cat??
My guess is the motor is from a 2006 f6 because they bolt right in.
Are you going to change the final drive to match all the Power of a 928? i have heard that the modern sleds can only get about 115 mph, thats all the tracks can handle, is this true? are going to produce build video's as you go?
+Karl Buttler oh ya ill be changing things up and video of course!
Cool i will be watching, happy trails..
PowerModz I wanna get a new snowmobile, honestly what snowmobile brand would you recommend I chose?
what kind of riding do you do?
PowerModz I mainly do off trail but I do live in norther Michigan so weather is kinda messed up and don't get to much snow?
Are one of those boon docker turbos going in there? Lol
I new the day was coming , Louie likes the cat oh yeah , that's what I'm talking about, finely got a real sled in there haha 😂😂
When are the mods starting?!
The Arctic cat f7 motor will drop right in
Please tell me you got the 2010- present 800 H.O. not the doggy 2007-2009 800!!??
I just sold my arctic crap today because I didn't feel like cleaning the carbs for the fourth time this season
My fist sled was 05 440 snopro good first choice
hope the mods on the cat go great
