Connor that was an amazing analogy of this weeks game. Back in the 70's when the Buffs came to Lincoln many of them were dressed in Cowboy hats and boots with long black trench coats and talking trash and making fun of Nebraska farmers. Being good Nebraska fans we let them talk, talk, talk and I never saw a Nebraska team loose to the Buffs in the 70's or 80's. Can't wait to be in the Stadium early and hear that "smack talk" again and watch what will be a great atmosphere and a great game with the Huskers team coached to victory! GBR

The game is as important as any non conference game but is certainly NOT an exceptionally important game. Recruits will likely enjoy the game, win or lose, but it’s unlikely to be determinative in a school choice. Fans obsess over Colorado games but it’s the fans that are mistaken. It is, imo, not a must win game. Every Big Ten has more bearing on the ‘success’ of the team for the season. The goal is playing well in every game and winning as many games on the schedule as they can. That number is yet to be determined- hence that’s why they play the games. Placing undue importance on any particular opponent out of a dozen games can lead the team to excessive emotional highs and lows.

Our guys are big. But they also have a skill and class about them. I hope they never lose that. They don't have to play like street football like a lot of the southern teams have started playing and like colorado plays. That's just all i'm saying.

Raiola isn't going to win the game for NU, but he could lose it. NU needs to pound the rock against a weak CU run defense. Keep CU's offense off the field. All due respect to Raiola, but he still a freshman starting his second college game. Make it easy for the kid...pound...the...rock.
He has to play a clean, managed game. He doesn't have to win it by himself.
