Violition is a true masterpiece. I think it portrays Thorfinn's journey so well! It almost makes me cry every time I listen to it "but now I'm really proud of them" 🥲. Thanks for bringing all this beautiful ost together!
Amazing collection! You made me understand something new in music (Leitmotif), I was wondering why I liked Hiroyuki Sawano music in Attack on Titan so much! I always hear some recurring themes in his music and the rearrangements he does are fire!
Volition is an incredible track and easily my favorite, not only for the range of emotions it carries in the melody, but also how much of Thorfinn's journey you can hear within it. OP pointed out the motif it shares with the pieces before it, which draws back to the Small Village track, but the first thing I noticed was how much it sounds like Battleground. It's an exceptionally fitting piece to have at this point where Thorfinn is standing on the threshold of battle, yet he's choosing to remember what Leif told him about his ancestors that day on the dock. Yutaka Yamada knew what he was doing

really cool compilation, especially loved the shortened volition- i did not appreciate that track until i caught the name of it in this video

yep! it's something I learned in a highschool class and changed the way I look at music scores in shows and animes forever.
