I had the 2015 version and the HP was 162. The gear and such didn't allow the power peak for 0-60 like the new version does but it was an awesome bike. Definitely looking to get on the 2019/2020 Diavel. Specially do to the fact of cruise control for some long drives.
Everytime I see those awful and horrible roads of Britain it makes me so appreciative of the big, amazing and modern roads we have here in Canada and the US.
This is my most thoroughly enjoyed video of all the 'professional level' reviews out there. Well done, mate. "It's diabolical." "Its sickening!" LMAO. I felt the same with my first ride and subsequent rides thereafter. A truly magical beast. Great vid.
Yep definitely an upgrade from the Vulcan S and a serious crush of mine. I sat on the previous model and I remember it being heavy to lift off the stand. I envy you haha
Had to laugh at your comment about 'not getting stuck in traffic'.... you seemed to be getting left behind by that car - hahahaha. But OK, I understand about riding a strange, very expensive bike and I think I would be cautious about opening it up even with my 40+ years experience..... must blag a ride someday !
Going back to the vulcan after riding this must be tough . . . Until they show u the maintenance costs . . . And their monthly payments . . . And their insurance costs . . .
I part-exchanged an MT-10 for my 2021 Diavel and paid cash for the balance so that I don't have to pay monthly instalments, so that's now out of the way. When it comes to maintenance, there's a 600-mile first check (oil, brakes, tyre pressure, chain etc.) then after that, it's every 15,000 km. Something I was impressed with was Ducati head office phoning me from Italy to make sure I was happy and when I had a query I received a house-call (after hours) from the after-sales manager to discuss it with me! At the end of the day... you get what you pay for.
Cost of the bike is one thing, maintenance costs are what people forget to consider when buying expensive bikes (and cars!) but for insurance I was just quoted £209 fully comp with two speeding tickets in the last 4 years..... it seems my age (61) and 11 years NCB helps - along with a (self imposed) milage limit of 3k per year. I don't ride in the rain if I can help it, and wouldn't want my Harleys to feel neglected - riding one of them is like being with an old girlfriend.... not the best but very predictable. I well remember the days of just having one bike...... three or four bikes with limited use makes for variety and it takes longer to get to the maintenance schedules !
Indeed. Have heard stories of the Police being on the prowl for speeders on social media. Also the price of the bike is vastly more. Wasn't worth the risk. :)
@@UncleRed i agree. i always obey the limit. it is hard to tell in the video but i am sure it must be the feeling whilst throttling that you can tell that the power is there. i ride a versys 2019 650. all the power i need or want. be safe red . atgatt !!
This is my next bike. It's a matter of when, not if. Absolutely love it.
It's totally insane to ride for the first miles. Do be gentle. ;)
The savagery of the acceleration. 🤣😂 You are so right my friend.

Oh boy. Definitely grab yourself a test ride. It'll really surprise you!

Ours have more bends. 😉

Cheers!
Am looking to get another test ride, hopefully on the X.
...A whole other monster. :)
Stay safe!
@@UncleRed Looking forward to the vid and I hope it's as "filthy" as 1260. LOL I'm still cracking up at that comment. :) Subbed!
Urban mode makes it a passable commuter. And the looks you get ......
I've ridden one of these before and I couldn't believe the power of it.
Superb first impressions video. I could feel your adrenaline rush every time you opened the throttle. 🤣👌🏻. Ride Safe Man. Namaste 🙏🏻
I love your review and I want this bike. I would probably have it in Urban mode most of the time as well.
Wow, when I grow up, I want to ride this as well :)
Does the quick shift feature not work in Urban then? See you keep using the clutch?
I didn't try it at the time, to be honest. I'm hoping to jump back on one of these in the near future. :)
I heard you got promoted to Sergeant :) Apparently there's three stripes in your underpants :)
Cheek. :)
Well played.

Ha, "very expensive" was the main thing going through my mind. ;)
Very good fun, though. Wanting to jump on one again soon!
i ride my fjr no more than 3-4 times a year since i got mine. and only when it rains. and i
thought the fjr was quick !!!
Lol good honest review man!!
Have you had the chance to ride one?
A year later and it still puts a grin on my face.
@@UncleRed no not yet but I'm putting my 17 plate busa in against one l like it that much.
Great review
@@R3RLEE oooo you're in for a treat. 👍😁
I wonder why watching a moterbike ride from first view is so satisfying

Aye. I've seen the repair bill for a set of Pingale brakes.
Oof.

Thought he was going to say he saved a bunch of money by switching to Geico
Top speed run when?
2069.
@@UncleRed Nice.
Last week i was in Germany, top speed on this baby is 256 km/h👌
This video made my day
EGG!
Thanks bud. :)
Quick shifter?
The s version does have quick shifter but the normal one extra accessory
does not seem to have been driven any faster than you drive the vulcan
