    I purchased the MB100 ESC along with the Injora T6 transmitter/receiver...so there is no longer any need for any stock electronics which leaves plenty of room. The best feature of the MB100 is that it can run 3S batteries. The performance upgrade from that is huge.

    I just had my Furitek - Lizard Pro esc die on me on my FX118 Fury Wagon & I plan on using this Injora - MB100 brushed esc & a brushed FMS - 130 Speed Motor to get my rig running again. I just got to change out the pinion gear from the Venom brushless outboard motor to the brushed FMS - 130 Speed Motor & it will be ready to go.

    On the V2 MB100, the motor and battery ports are labelled. Unlike the V1 MB100 that you have, the battery port on the V2 MB100 is red rather than white. Also, the V2 MB100 has 80% reverse power as opposed to 50% on the V1 MB100. The V2 also has a complete metal case, not just on the top. They also still have yet to change the "liner mode". The newer black plastic cased panda hobby electronics are not compatible with aftermarket speed controls. The CH2 for these is used for the left turn signal.

    I was considering this Injora ESC as alternative to the original FMS FCX24 Receiver/ESC-Combo for new builds. The Injora slow-crawl looks good; but not that much better than the original FCX24 performance. Taking the size and weight into account, you are better off staying with the original FMS Receiver/ESC-Combo (cheaper as well).

      The fms fcx24/hobbyplus fly sky 2 in 1 units are the best you’ll find for micro crawlers as far as rtr electronics. I feel no need to switch them out unless I’m going to brushless or trying to make a 4ws rig. But with the v5 version it has 4ws mixing.

    This ESC costs $20... It is by far the best performance to dollar ratio of any micro crawler ESC ive gotten my hands on. All of your complaints are pretty ridiculous considering this is a budget ESC and it is not marketed as or intended to be the greatest, smallest, lightest ESC. It is a budget option for people who want a middle ground upgrade that doesn't cost half the price of their rig or more to obtain. Injora killed it with this ESC. I just got mine today and couldn't be much happier for an upgrade that costs $20... Setting appropriate expectations is key.

    • @donaldsneffe
      @donaldsneffe  11 หลายเดือนก่อน +18

      I agree with all your points, but think it is quite harsh to call my con points "ridiculous".
      The more because those points are independent of price (for producer).
      Questions to you:
      Would it be more expensive to program 100% reverse instead of 50%?
      Would it be more expensive to produce a version without case?
      But this size and weight thing is more a point important for people who do in 1/24s (SCX24, Mini-Z 4x4), a fact, no critics, however, if Injora wants to target also this market,smaller than 1/18, they should consider it.
      If the MB100 would cost 100 bucks, I would have exactly the same pros and cons as I do now for 20 bucks (plus: "too expensive").
      If you only want to see and hear positive points of products you obviously like you should watch other channels out there, not mine. There are tons out there making propaganda videos.
      I pay for my stuff and say what I think and will not hide any negative or con-point.

      @donaldsneffe  11 หลายเดือนก่อน +2

      @@lgrc6120 50% reverse does not give you the option to use 100% reverse.
      But 100% reverse gives you the option to use only 50% - in nearly each "little better" radio you can set endpoints (also called "way" in EdgeTX radios and "travel" in Spektrum radios) for throttle (forward and reverse independently, not to mix up with dual rate, which does reduce ways in both directions).

  • @travispratt6327

    Hi I have a bit off topic question, I already have a cheap micro esc that doesn’t have a low voltage cutoff, is it possible to just connect that to ch2 in the v3 spektrum esc, connect battery to the stock receiver combo, connect motor to the cheap esc and have low voltage cutoff or if I do that will I blow something? I’m just curious if I can get rid of the whine and maybe pick up some better modulation, don’t have high hopes but if it’s possible I’d like to try. Thanks for the vids!

    • @donaldsneffe
      @donaldsneffe  11 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      This will not work.
      If your ESC is able to work with 1s, too, it might work if you remove red and black wire from the servo plug of this ESC and put red and black from the battery wire of your ESC in instead. I do have a tiny ESC that works that way ( th-cam.com/video/KrwAHz2GKxA/w-d-xo.html ).
      But the problem will also be Amperage. Probably the v3 receiver combo is not able to deliver enough Amp for powering the motor. Normally those tiny combos have maybe 1 Amp BEC (or so, I do not know - but think of the tiny ESCs, their BEC which powers the receiver normally delivers 0.5 - 1 Amp only).
      You could try, but I expect the Amperage delivered by v3 combo to be way too low even for a small SCX24 030 motor. If you try, do this very carefully, best open the box and check if anything gets hot or very warm in v3 unit.
      But if it works your truck will be much slower and weaker then, because it gets only 5.5 V (? - or is it 6 V in the v3? Did not check/test) from the inbuilt BEC of v3, and not ca. 7,5 - 8,4 V from the 2s Lipo that normally directly powers ESC and motor.
      I do not think it will work, and I think there is the danger to burn the v3 combo because of too much Amp ESC/motor will take.
      Whine? Cheap micro ESCs normally do also have whining. But if your ESC does not have a whine, then of course using this will stop this v3 whining (v2 was much better in this).

    • @travispratt6327
      @travispratt6327 11 หลายเดือนก่อน

      @@donaldsneffe Thanks! Yes that makes sense, I do not think I will try running a motor off the bec, doesn’t seem like a good idea. Which esc would you recommend that’s as inexpensive as possible while still offering better than stock modulation and no whine (That has 100% reverse, that’s a dealbreaker on the injora for me unless I can’t find anything else). Thank you again man.

    • @travispratt6327
      @travispratt6327 11 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Btw I have external receivers and wouldn’t mind putting a full size esc in and getting rid of the whole stock esc combo, so size isn’t really much of an issue, weight kind of is as I don’t want to raise cg but not too worried about it.

    • @donaldsneffe
      @donaldsneffe  11 หลายเดือนก่อน

      No - you will need a normal receiver. So you cannot use it with "standard electronics" in microcrawlers, which include receiver and ESC. Exceptions: trucks with CH2 out, which are SCX24 v1 and v3, AX24, Panda Hobby Tetra.
      CR-24: with old Turbo Racing electronics you can buy a TurboRacing 4-ch receiver and use it with stock radio and connect the ESC to this receiver. But new generation does come with Flysky electronics (very good ESC) and radio, same as FCX24s etc. - and those do not have a ch2 out, you cannot use the ESC with those.

      @donaldsneffe  11 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      Thank you.
      No, won't do this because I'd have to change all electronics then. If ESC in the Austar would be crap, ok, but... it is so good, only this F/B/R thing and the slow reverse spoil everything.
      I have soooo many things I want to do and do not have enough time ;-) (e.g. Lemur modification work in progress, MN111 new motor work in progress, TRX-4M Surpass brushless mod work in progress, 2 1/2 Orlandoo kits here not built/started/finished yet, new Injora bodies, painting, several SCX24, FMS, Hobby Plus, FX118, to modify, build, ... ).
      I really hope there will be an updated version of the Austar one day with the new software of this MB100 ESC. Meanwhile I bought a second one and maybe will build it to an Injora Tarantula (work in progress ;-) ) - maybe in this I could try the new MB100.
      But that's future, actually I am fighting with this nasty Lemur for already way too much time...
      I am quite sure, performance of the Austar will not increase using the MB100, you'll only have a direct forward/reverse. I am quite sure low speed modulation will be the same.
      Probably there will even be a slight decrease in performance, because the MB100 is rather heavy, negative for COG.
