Excellent talent with multiple studies of the guitars abilities including finger's capabilities. When young, enjoy your hands. When you are older, you'll understand my personal opinion. Especially being a hard labor worker my whole life, mixing, carrying and toweling concrete. Sun, rain, or cold. Thanks Eric Johnson for the music creativity. I enjoyed seeing several times, live.

It's a Texas hill country thing in spring time. (I lived in San Antonio five years and my kids have lived in Austin for the last decade). Eric captures the divine love that surrounds this place beautifully! ❤

There's a place, I dream of, far away
There's a girl living there by the bay
She works at sea, for the land propriety
It's here duty, when they call, she's got to go
Oh, now I'm waiting for you
    Soon again we'll meet
Yes, I've been hoping for you
I want to retreat to Bristol Shore
The Neptune World, she loves most, with ocean breeze
She protects the Trident Coast and seven seas
'Till she returns, I must find somewhere to go
She's been delayed at the Gulf of Mexico
Oh, I've been waiting for you
    Soon you will arrive
Oh, yes I'll be hoping for you
Underneath the sky at Bristol Shore
    (Oh, at Bristol Shore)
There's a light shining near, off the bay
Through the siren winds I hear, that girl say
Soon we will meet, there will be another time
That we connect, let it be another time
Oh, I'll be waiting for you
    Keep an open door
Yes, 'cause I'm hoping for you
There beside the sea at Bristol Shore
Soon we will meet, let it be another time
That we connect, let it be another time
Oh, I'll be there waiting for you
Yes, I'll be hoping for you
Oh, I'll be waiting for you
Lord knows I'm hoping for you
I'll be there waiting for you
And I'll be there hoping for you
Oh, I'll be waiting for you
    (Soon we will meet)
    I'm only hoping for you
    Down at Bristol Shore...

Such incredible musicianship, it leaves one almost speechless. Trying to describe Eric's playing to someone who has not heard him is like trying to explain the color blue to someone who has never seen it. Just amazing!

Mr johnson I'm almost fifteen and I've been listening to you since I was eleven and let me tell you nothing you have written is anything short of a masterpiece. I've been to two of shows at the paramount in austin one was the up close 2011 your and I just saw you with mike stern last month. You are a huge inspiration to me and make me want to keep playing. Maybe one day I'll bump into you at austin vintage guitars :) .

I remember this song from the random Spotify algorithm and didn’t know the name, so I searched the only thing I remember (“Soon I’ll be waiting for you - Eric Johnson”). And I’m so so glad I found it with an incredible live version like this. Eric is a huge inspiration to me as a musician and I really hope I can close to his level someday. I have almost complete the cliffs of Dover solo and it’s like a dream to play that song. But although that piece is the most famous, Eric has a very lot of good songs such as “Manhattan, SRV, or even the new ones like Stratagem. I would like to encourage anyone who reads this -long- comment to give Eric a chance a listen to every album he has; they’re not a lot, so it isn’t like listening to (for example) more than 10 albums, as it happens with Dream Theater.
Anyway, if Eric gets to read this comment someday I would love to let him know that I really appreciate him as a musician and as a person -as long as I “know”him-.
    Much love. Cheers

Up until now I'd been focussed on ah via musicom even though I own tones. This vid reminds me how wonderful the music is on tones that I've not listened to for along time.
It's remarkable how he reproduces his singing & complex guitar playing so effortlessly live. In fact some of it sounds even better than the studio recordings. He's amazing

There will be another time. Take care of your mother's needs in Texas but remember for me that she is no longer here. She is with God now & nothing can harm her. Not any sickness or disease. No evil of any kind. Her youth & health restored. Still I understand the absolute trauma that you as her son are suffering. You need to consider cancelling some dates of your tour. A two month window would not be excessive. Time for the Johnson team to Circle The Wagons. Because you need to adjust to this. So glad you just released Song For Irene & the 6 String Saga about the humble acoustic guitar you had restore to create her song with. I think they were done with great love. Perhaps you can find a photograph of your parents when your parents were a young couple in love so we can see what they looked like then. Or a photograph of your parents with all of the children. To the best of my knowledge you have 3 sisters & one brother. I could be very wrong. But I do think it is time to share a tiny bit about your parents & siblings. Maybe even a photograph of you & your father during your Africa years. I think your father was genius like yourself. He knew you would not survive this world at that point of your life unless he could surround you in as much God as he could find. Africa was brilliant. Everywhere you look you see God's creation. It's undeniable & your father was a great man. A truly great man. He fought the devil himself for his son fearlessly. I am so thankful. So please find a good photograph of you & your father in Africa while you are finding a photograph of your parents in the thick of life but deeply in love. I'm sorry I never met your parents but I assume they knew all about the incredible son God had entrusted to their care. Simply call if you need me for anything. Anita xo
