I love Dmitri, have 3 of his CD's, (and will purchase more) I love "Arie Antique" and I got introduced to Russian Folk Music and Songs mainly by Dmitri Hvorostovsky, Ivan Rebroff, the Red Army Chorus and of course many others Russian performers and I love Tchaikovsky Ballets and especially the tenor aria from Eugene Onegin LENSKY's ARIA etc. My favorites Russian songs are: 1) Katyushia 2) Kalinka 3) Farewell to Slavianka 4) Oche Choryne (Dark Eyes) 5) Moscow Nights and I love 6) Cranes most! Now about "White Cranes" ZVURLI, (excuse the pun) Dmitri in this "off the cuff" interview had said he went "Silver" meaning he started developing "White hair" from his youth. Now, someone please correct me if I am wrong and I apologize profusely for saying this (for Dmitri fans, and I am one too). Did, Dmitri have his hair dyed blonde when performing in public (especially since he admitted this here?) because in many of his videos that are in color it shows him with sorta long blond hair, (and it did look beautiful indeed, and I can tell women swooned over him with his dashing look needless to say) but its a well known fact that hair dye and color has deleterious, and I dare say Cancerous effects on the skin and scalp, and I am wondering aloud that, did this contribute to his brain cancer (tumor)? I guess an autopsy would reveal it? (too late for that now) I would love to see a comment posted by a Russian person(s) that knew Dmitri and would he or she contribute to this post? Just learned of his passing. Sad. There are some exciting trials in progress for Glioblastoma which is the type I am assuming he had, that involve oncolytic viruses (infecting the brain with a virus that eats cancer cells) and others. I think John McCain will be participating in one of these. I wish he too had participated in one of these trials. Regardless, a great talent lost. RIP.
