This show legit perfected the art of the "everyone in the family freaks out" moment. The entire cast always played off one another so well!

For some reason I’m always getting nervous when I’m watching this scene. It feels like sitting with them at the table during this scene. It’s just so well done! 🙉😂

Most of it wasn't Sue's fault, and Brick's reaction was hilarious!

While I get the fact that there's a reason why the kids never tell their parents anything because they freak out, fly off the handle and overreact. But it's often because the kids are doing something their parents don't want them doing. But in this case. When it comes to the situation. Darrin is an idiot, he doesn't think. You don't surprisingly propose to someone who isn't ready for that. And the reason why Sue didn't want to tell them anything is because they'd overreact and go nuts. The yelling is the reason why she was hesitant. They want Sue to take care of the situation but hello, parents should handle it without going crazy. You can't expect Sue to do all of this on her own. So part of me wonders who should I be annoyed about? Darrin for his stupidity or Sue's parents constantly overreacting. Darrin should've known that since Sue was 17 at the time and she's planning to go to college. Darrin needs to think with his non-existent brain. These days, someone else needs to do the thinking for him because his non-existent brain can't do that.

Sue would’ve probably went thru with the marriage if she didn’t get her parents involved, they were up front outrage, also it’s a comedy show it would’ve been weird if they were calm especially mike and axl! Think what made it worse was that darrin had the family involved in the proposal without their knowledge of what he was actually doing

@@PenelopeLuna-vq8fc I'm pretty sure Darrin wouldn't have been able to marry Sue at the time since I believe Sue was 17 at the time and still finishing up high school and I'm not familiar with marriage laws in Indiana but we have to be 18 to marry or both have to be 18 or older to marry or they can't marry due to the law being in place. So on one hand, telling her parents was one way of helpful, even if it had disastrous results ( reaction wise ) and Darrin getting his family involved with the proposal with no idea what Darrin was really doing. I don't know if Darrin's family are as dumb as him or if Darrin didn't tell them what they needed to know and if they did know, then they'd advise Darrin not to do it since we didn't get to see Darrin's family all that much. But like I've said about comedies. Logic is often tossed out the window. But you're right, in a comedy, it would be weird if the parents were calm about it. Throughout the entire time. Darrin has shown to be quite dumb and it's apparent that someone whose got a brain needs to do the thinking for him until he grows a brain himself. I'm sorry if anything I'm saying sounds harsh, argumentative, or negative on my part. But I will say I do agree with you in your statement. You've made quite the valid point.

I believe some of the fault should go to Sue. Mike has a point. Marriage is a serious commitment and isn’t some game. I think the reason as to why Frankie and Mike were mad is because they know Sue and see her as someone who is the most responsible between her, Axl, and Brick. All three vary in terms of responsibility but I think they see Sue as the most responsible - which explains as to why they were angry they she foolishly accepted Darrin’s proposal, not to mention that she kept not rejecting Darrin. Granted, it’s not easy but the longer she holds it off, the harder it would be.

@@thewillofabeast9079 I have to disagree with any of the fault being on Sue. Sure, her parents see her as the most responsible but Darrin doesn't think when it comes to things like this. Sure, Sue didn't want to reject or turn down Darrin, but she's not seeing this as a game, no, she's trying to find a way to resolve the problem but she's only a child, or she was at least 17 at the time and even 17-year-olds are not completely responsible ( this applies to both men and women ) sure Mike has a point in terms of marriage being a serious commitment and how it's not a game, yes, do they have a right to be angry? I think so if it went too far and is out of one's control, but if they tried to be rational about it, then Sue or the kids wouldn't try to hide something from them when they know they'd be in hot water if they told them. Kids often hide things from their parents and tell them nothing when their parents constantly get mad and go nuts when they did something that was a mistake that was out of their control. Parents would prefer their kids to tell them everything and not hide everything from them nor do the parents want their kids never telling them anything. Sue is only a kid at the time and kids are not responsible to handle these kinds of situations. They wanted Sue to resolve the situation but they don't get that she's a child, she can't because that's too big of a responsibility to a kid and is an unfair thing. So I'm sorry but all the fault is on Darrin and Sue's parents. Darrin just sprung all this on Sue without warning and Darrin even got his family on the whole thing when he probably didn't tell them the whole story, otherwise, Darrin's family wouldn't have gone through with it and they would've shut the whole thing down. So I still say the fault is on Darrin and Sue's parents.

@@brocksampson3405 I can see that but Frankie and Mike (mostly Mike) were keen on going over to support Sue and Mike wanted to go over alone and set things straight with Darrin. But Sue was insisting on doing it herself and kept showing up at a bad time and couldn’t turn Darrin down. She did this three times in the whole episode. So, it’s not like Sue’s parents just didn’t care about the situation.

She was 17 and still in high school, he was 20 and expected two kids by the time he was 24 which meant as soon as they married he’d expect sue to pop out kids for him, preventing her dream of college including living in a dorm, making a new friend like lexi and traveling! Sean and sue dated on and off before marrying, after going thru their own adventures and clearly were on the same page before decided to stay official
