Mine was originally equipped with a DLE61 that continually overheated. A fellow pilot recommended I change out the flyscreen for one with wider openings. I found a french fry ladel with 1/4" openings and chrome wire. That made a huge difference but what really made this plane sparkle was switching to electric power. Extremely smooth and powerful now with no tuning or starting issues winter or summer.
On such a plane belongs a fuel engine. Specially for the sound❤. I made a good baffle plate to control the temperature. It is around the 170 degrees on the head near the exaust pipe with average flying. I agree that an electric drive give more power and is easier to handle but it does ‘t belong on this plane😂 just my 2 cents…
