- Austrian couple, Nellia and Dietmar Ehrentraut are still dancing (Rock'n'Roll style of dancing). Been dancing for over 40 years. They have a standard routine they perform, and they do it all over the world...and in their 70's they still teach! 😊

These two don't just cut a rug, they shred it. My Mother taught me swing dancing in my teens yrs ago. I'm 70 now and still kill it. In fact I have 20 something young ladies always asking me to teach them what Mom taught me. She told me you can sit down, give up and rot, or you can get up have some fun and dance. She did into her 70's. Went to bed one night in 1999 and never woke up, but she had a smile on her face when we found her.

My friend's husband is suffering from dementia but they can still dance together as well as they have for the past fifty plus years!

Music and muscle memory seem to trigger different areas of the mind, in my experience. It's so good that they're keeping active and reminding those functional parts he still has to keep going! Wishing them all the best! ❤️

I saw my grandparents dance like this and I was floored. but i learned they were 1959 Okinawa's army back dance champions. life is amazing that way

The dancers are not young. They are vital and gifted and filled with energy - and old. Don't equate young with what they are. How many young people do you know who are anything but vital. Fight Ageism - cause you are going to be old if you get lucky.

Teachable moment for us all: NEVER STOP DANCING. That was the dancing and the music of their youth back in the 50s. They just kept dancing for the past 60 years. Wouldn’t surprise me if they were together back then and were dancing regularly at the sock hops. My mom is in her 80s and she dances like that too. 🥰
Can’t you just see their 20 year old selves on the floor with them today? Keeps a relationship strong too.
