The complete performance.
Promoting The Idiot album.
I had this but it was all over the place in various quality, however this is from the excellent video Tim Kepple uploaded. Thank You - บันเทิง
"I'm gonna call you Jimmy" "Sure, I appreciate it". David "Do you mind me talking?: Wow. Can we please go back to the 70s?
I was in college and skipped a class to watch this. The look on Bowie’s face when he started to give an intellectual explanation for Iggy’s self-destructive behavior and then just threw in the towel and went with the absurdity of the situation. It also shows what a sweetheart and a professional Dinah was. She does a great job in an at times tough interview without being condescending or fake. It’s nice to see this posted because I have described it to others but nothing compares to watching the real thing.
This must have blown so many young minds at the time.
A unique moment in History all caught one lunchtime in L.A. Dinah had one helluva a booker on this show. Never to be repeated
Totally!!❤
I love the 70s when mainstream TV like Dinah would have Iggy and David on their show! Too cool!
Wow Absolutely!!!!..
Just smoking cigs while being real. Unmatched today
@@ericrobson4291 It was before my time ,but i assume as the title card at the beginning says CBS Television City Los Angeles CA
Anyone would like to have Bowie, he wasn't much of that.
He was only there because of Bowie
Honestly very happy they were friends
iggy and david are adorable together.. "idk, jimmy you wanna tell em?" "uh idk, why dont you" "oh okay, you dont mind if i talk?"
😂 So awesome. ❤
I was 14 and i remember this so well. Oh man, I sure miss the 70s ❤🎉
I never realized how chill Dinah was! David made her blush though 😂😂
wonderful conversation, quite sincere, intelligent, raw...
Some may notice Iggy had to change the lyrics in Sister Midnight from "Mother was in my bed and I made love to her" to "potatoes were in my bed and I made love to them. 1977 censorship at work. So great to see this again. If you like this, look for Bowie on Dinah with his station to station band.
“I think I helped wipe out the sixties.”
And goodnight.
Rosemary Clooney with Iggy & David Bowie = Wow! I miss Dinah Shore 😇
Iggy is the only one left of the four people on the couch.
😮😢😢😢
You mean Jimmy?
Bowie died but will never leave
When Two great spirits comes together... they make so lovely atmosphere.
This older woman just gets sensitive/artistic young men. There's no judgement here by Dinah. It's like Iggy and Bowie are just hanging with Mom. She's being cool and letting them talk. The Sales bros. Holding it down and Bowie happy to wingman on the keyboards. Iggy just bugging like he's been doing forever. Hard to believe that for a minute there, even square TV was good.
Because it wasn't square.
I'm an older woman and I guarantee she wanted some of that young Iggy too 😉😂❤️
Bowie too of course ❤
As opposed to. .???? Hahaha!! Think about context before you thumb.
I miss Bowie❤️⚡️✨
You’re not alone 😢
Bowie is just superb
Velvet Goldmine is a film based on Bowie and Iggy's relationship. It's brilliantly gorgeous! 🌟
And Lou Reed too
I looove nihilism... Classic quote right there
i do not know how to thank u enough. im reading Please Kill Me for the second time in almost 20 years and im right at this page in the book. cheers from Brazil, mate
I’m also reading Dont Kill Me and rediscovering Iggy
I like how David is facing away when iggily is interviewed lol
Meet Iggy Pop & David Bowie Trans Europe Express ..... Kraftwerk
"I think I helped wipe-out the 60's" 😂😂😂
YES,...............so grateful for this.....thank you.....
.......yes.
"I am very rich, you know" hehehe
"Red Money" - Dina Shore had a lot of interesting guests.. Mort Sahl, for example when he was blacklisted
This is legendary footage. Thank you for this.
Wow two legends, I can't believe Iggy outlived Bowie
It was very brave of Iggy and Bowie to appear on TV with such hardcore out-of-control show biz gangstas like Dinah Shore and Rosemary Clooney. One wrong word and those crazy women might've killed those two skinny guys on national television.
Amazing! I've never seen this except in a highly edited form. Love the extended interviews. Thanks!
Tony and Hunt Sales!!!!
Yes. What a killer performance of "Funtime"...buoyed by Bowie, of course, and the live sound mix here is phenomenal. I'd never realized what a great drummer Hunt Sales is.
Pretty sure I have this interview in news paper form I was so happy to see it here!!!
Wonderful quality! Thanks for this treasure ❤
Awesome!!
Really cool to see again x
Dinah + Iggy = 4evah
8:20 No one on the show is going to try and investigate this answer any further or just leave it as it is? Then again, they probably already know.
Great interview
🌞
When we were lions
Coolsville
Petty amazing
⚡️🦎
This was interesting
hahaha "I think I helped wipe out the 60's"
Dinah Shore seemed like a matronly church lady
Dinah: and now Iggy Pop
later
Dinah: David Bowie.
que te jod ? jajajjajajaj
2024
Life sucks livin' in Republican Jesus 'Murica.
Was bowie the bottom or top?
Lol
This would have been a good song for the plasmatics.
Crap quality upload... Thanks anyway. Very much.
I think Iggy could give Mick & run for his money. Wiping out the sixties comment was a bit bold & arrogant. No ya didn't Iggy. The sixties still goes down as the most turbulent & creative period in pop/rock history with it's experimentation & rebellion.
My man is getting mad at a joke from almost 50 years ago
Hey!....Iggy came across as so sweet, David on the other hand, an obnoxious a-hole.....
I love 70s music but Iggy Pop isn't on my playlist, at all. Yeah, he is original and iconic but he's niche.
Iggy Pop lol . Pure cringe passing as talent. Bowie was a genius.
I tended to feel the same
for a long time.
Give his album The Idiot a shot.
It’s Bowie and Iggy doing great work.
Clown opinion
*We can thank Bowie being in Iggy's band. It was undoubtedly the reason Iggy was on such a middle class woman's show. I can imagine the viewers being unknowing about anything they were inferring. Hardly radical stuff, but a good change of pace*
