I really loved Mitsuhas voice. It had a much more realistic and soft timbre than a lot of other anime girls. Her VA didn't squeal, didn't attempt to speak in a high pitched, cutesy voice and it fit so well with Mitsuha, aHHH this movie is so great

Taki doesnt sound like an overly wimpy kid, Mitsuha doesnt like a forced loli inside an adult's body

you can read kimi no na wa earthbound once it release around may, side stories constitute of taki's empathy toward mitsuha when he switched to her body, yotsuha's point of view of her sister, teshi's dream of building cafe assisted by taki(as mitsuha) & lastly, mitsuha's father. This is just additional information regarding the movie though i doubt they would make a sequel or so

so yeah i test it out and it desync each other after 2 minute after they start to sync so yeah but if you take out the instrument in the mitsuha version i think it will probally start to sync longer
So, I took a look at this since THIS DUET MUST EXIST. It turns out that they were singing a minor 3rd apart, which makes for some interesting harmonies in a few parts, but sometimes clashes. While the 3rd harmony is great, in order for the entire song to blend well, I pitch shifted them to sing in unison. Shifting only 1-2 semitones changed the pitch, but still somewhat preserved the voice quality that distinguishes them. I had watched 5cm per second and was expecting a similar ending... well for those of you who have watched both probably knows what I felt watching this movie's ending.

Man, when they had the scene where they walked past each other I had 5cm/s flashbacks and was screaming and crying "NOOOT AGAIN, NOT THIS TIME TOO, PLEASE SHINKAI!!!" Shinkai did a really good job with the cinematography to trigger and troll his previous fans.

i think it was a special effect that gives you more dramatic feeling too it. songs with sad/tragic theme usually have these. for example; "Kawaki no Ameku".

The beginning part may not be perfect, but after 1 minute, it can be synchronized perfectly till the end. I have a recorded version, but i have no idea nor any knowledge in making videos and uploading to youtube. Anyway, as I recorded using my laptop, the sound quality is a bit low too. Sorry guys.

I'm still not sure if this film needs a sequel.
Like, when I think about it, it seems like the film is too epic to have a sequel, and should just stay the single, astonishing story it is, holding it's position in the anime hall of fame.
But then, I hear this song, and think: "This song could be used for something else. I don't quite know what, but it would be simply amazing if it could find it's way into Your Name/Kimi No Na Wa as something else. As user Jr Batenga said, I too can just imagine Mitsuha singing this as a lullaby. Along with some other covers, and new songs, a new Kimi No Na Wa could be just as legendary as the first. Actually, it would make the story more than an anime legend. It seems more like a myth. I don't care what the storyline would be, but I feel I can trust Makoto Shinkai to pull it off if it happens."
