    I just love Fastway/Pro Moto Billet. If I could go back in time, I would definitely buy these over my Cycra Pro Bends.
    I recently broke an Evolution Air footpeg on a stump. I took it down to Pro Moto Billet (they are in my town!) and showed them. They were WAY past the warranty period and I'm not even the original purchaser. They said, "yep, we redesigned these. Here's a brand new set with mounting kit for no charge." They rock.
    I have their spark arrestor, cargo rack, footpegs, and linkage guard. Couldn't be happier with them all.
    Thank you for the review!

    On the bar mount my dad actually put a steering dampener on it it is not to hard to install and is adjustable to see how hard turning your bars are and it prevents tank slapping if something were to happen it also helps you carve when you turn I rode his bike and it was a great feel

      christian yogi was that on a beta christian? generally i tend to avoid fast riding nowadays but a few times i've cranked the RR300 hard it seems a lot more stable than the ktm at speed. i've never ridden a bike with a damper on it...

      N D thanks ND, i'll only ride briefly with that swivel cam thing on top of the helmet and obviously can't go too nuts with it on there, it's pretty heavy!

    i have the G2 Competition Handguard System and i love them, i had a pretty big crash last Sunday that we think gave me a cracked rib (haven't seen a doc and no visible bruise) and there is only a mild bend inwards. also what ever they do for coating is amazing because even after that crash there is no damage to the coating.

    • @crosstrainingenduro
      @crosstrainingenduro  9 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      liiamthom ouch... i had a suspected rib a while back but it may have just been the intercostal muscles although they can take longer to heal sometimes :-(

      CROSS TRAINING, ENDUROCROSS & ENDURO TECHNIQUES my dad decided to go for a short ride once without a chest armor and decided to run into his old friend tree, left him with a cracked a rib, it took quite a long time to heal, like 3 or 4 months. but never the less he was fine and continued to ride with the cracked rib. (good thing for me as i just got my gasgas :D)

      Enduro Clutch N Shift thanks! a nice bit of kit, i'd been using cheapies but had to replace them regularly so figured these would be more cost-effective in the long run.

    Great review mate! Love that CLAKE Clutch/brake setup. Hey, when you had your 'Berg FE570, did you ever consider running a SAFARI FUEL TANK up front? I've been reading the forums, and they seem fraught with drama's fitting the things.

    • @crosstrainingenduro
      @crosstrainingenduro  9 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      A1107208 yep but the tank was so bloody expensive... the berg was so economical i was okay on the stock tank for most trips. if i needed more than 200km range i'd just strap a 4L jerry can on the back. :-)

    Thanks once again for all your effort in producing some of the most helpful collection of videos a noob like me could hope for. Quick question: Why is the left side not mounted the same as the right? the kit is supposed to mount the same both sides. I can only imagine clutch hose clearing issues?

    • @crosstrainingenduro
      @crosstrainingenduro  8 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      +RhinoStar0 yep, because of issues with trying to fit an aftermarket clutch assembly to aftermarket bars

    • @RhinoStar0
      @RhinoStar0 8 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Thanks, I can't find any locally in the UK so have to import them through motosport, gotta make sure they will fit before pulling the trigger. I won't be fitting Clake or any other aftermarket clutch assemblies on.. will these fit both sides ok with just the standard BETA paraphernalia?

    • @crosstrainingenduro
      @crosstrainingenduro  8 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      +RhinoStar0 they should do, if anyone had issues they'll have reported it on a forum somewhere if you google around.

  • @bikeandfarm2940

    Great review, this video might be a bit old to be asking questions but the web site says these are intended for aluminium bars, is this a fitment issue or safety related?
    Cheers!

  • @gncc1race

    They do look good. I've been through the gammut with hand guards, including original bark busters back in the day. My EXC currently is running Highway Dirt Bikes big beefy hand guards because I like their little fold away mirrors. I dropped about $170 US (not counting freight) for the guards, 2 mirrors and vibration dampeners (internal & external).
    I've bent almost every set of hand guards I've owned, and I liked the stoutness of the HDB guards. Unfortunately they are heavy. And I did manage to bend one of the guards. To their credit, HDB gave me a 40% crash discount (!) on the replacements.
    But knowing now about the Fastway guards, if I had to do it again I think I would go with the type 1's and use double take mirrors. They look strong, I like the clearance and accommodation for cables/hoses, and you said the magic word: light!
    Thank you again Mr. Morris for the enlightenment!

    • @crosstrainingenduro
      @crosstrainingenduro  9 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      gncc1race if i had to be road legal i'd definitely use the double take mirrors, i was using them for adventure riding and loved them. even did a review would you believe it?! th-cam.com/video/cbmD6qddwE8/w-d-xo.html

    • @gncc1race
      @gncc1race 9 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Actually I've watched that review a couple times. I know double take is the standard in folding mirrors. I went with the HDB's because my EXC is primarily a dirt bike, set up for and ridden just like it's non road legal predecessors in my garage. I use the aluminum plate to connect trails (a few hundred yards of tarmac at a time), and to bail out on a ride when it's too late and I'll just drive home (a few miles at most). For that limited use, the tiny HDB mirrors suit just fine. I realize the double takes are far superior on road, and do fold out of the way. But I didn't want the extra clutter on my handle bars while off roading.
      Though the HDB mirrors tuck neatly out of the way, I've taken to riding with one out all the time. I've found it convenient for checking behind me as I cross roads & driveways. Occasionally a branch or vegetation will fold it back, but I push it back out with a finger and keep on rippin'!
      That said (as if it wasn't enough, sorry...), I like what I see with the Fastways, and if I have need to replace the guards on my current bike or when I get a new one, I'll probably go with the Fastways & double takes.

    • @crosstrainingenduro
      @crosstrainingenduro  9 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      gncc1race i'd never fit the double take mirrors to the beta, i agree they are great for road use but if it was very infrequent i'd opt for something tiny and barely legal too. :-)

    • @gncc1race
      @gncc1race 9 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      ...Double takes on the Beta would be like putting thick lens glasses with thick black frames on a super model! LOL!!

      Connor Stiles that's why i always put the website address at the end and a live link to the website in the video description. this vid will be used for quite a few years, and prices change over time.... plus these are watched worldwide so i'd be getting asked but how much the USD price would be in pounds or deutchmarks are bronze wazoos.

      JoPinheiro nice bikes, jo. we did a basic review here: th-cam.com/video/1jf57ZtIRs0/w-d-xo.html great bike for cross training but a bit too soft if you want to ride fast sometimes. there is a lot of interest in the new beta xtrainer which will be halfway between a freeride and a proper enduro bike apparently...

    i had Cycra hand guards that were mounted in the same fashion. they were great until i clipped a tree and dropped it in the sand (whilst in second gear) and bent the solid aluminium mounts that attach to the handlebar!!!

    • @crosstrainingenduro
      @crosstrainingenduro  9 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Jordan Seinor what?! they shouldn't have bent dropping into sand. i've never used the cycra personally but i have heard a few guys say they bent easily...

    Question!? What happened to the Soumy? I noticed a 6D cradling your melon as of now? A review to come?

    • @crosstrainingenduro
      @crosstrainingenduro  9 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      imsroll yes, a 6D review is on the way. i'm hoping to review what i think is the best helmet in the low, mid and top price categories... so once the 6D is done it's on the the cheapie helmet. personally i think i'll wear the suomy for slow hot technical rides and the 6D whenever i know the pace is going to be faster.

    Is there a reason you have the left handguard mounted differently, does the inner mount foul the clutch cable?
    I'm interested in these guards but not if I have to modify them to fit... I also run a 300RR.

    • @crosstrainingenduro
      @crosstrainingenduro  8 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      the clake one light clutch is a bulky unit so the standard mount wouldn't work

      CROSS TRAINING ENDURO SKILLS okay just wasn't sure since there were comments below but I think they were in reference to your setup on the KTM.

  • @melias67
    @melias67 9 ปีที่แล้ว +1

    Hey I asked yesterday, but something happened and my comment has been deleted, and anyway I can't find it. As in my previous comment, what would the power of a 200 exc or kdx200 be like compared to a 250f race bike? I want to do cross training and enduro but the husky tc250 isn't really for what I do, so I want a kdx or exc.

    • @crosstrainingenduro
      @crosstrainingenduro  9 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      melias67 that's weird melias, i answered that... must have hit the delete button by mistake? i said i'd only had one ride on each and they were years apart so couldn't remember well enough to give a comparison. but for cross training going lighter helps heaps so the two strokes would be lighter. and up to a certain year the KTM 200s were very light until they went to the mid sized frame (can't remember the year).
