Legendary DJ Wolfman Jack did the introduction. The Guess Who did a song about him, "Clap for the Wolfman"--where you can hear him commenting during the song. It's definitely worth a reaction. Also, Wolfman played a DJ in the 1973 film, "American Graffiti"--which you need to do on your movie channel.
Howlin' Wolfman Jack and Case Kasem was my favorite DJs. Casey Kasem was the voice of Shaggy in the Scooby Doo cartoons. R.I.P Wolfman and Casey Kasem.
You beat to it!! I’ve been hoping for more reactions to the Guess Who, and definitely would listen to Clap for the Wolfman! Also would like To hear them do Dr Hook’s Cove of the Rolling Stone.
Yep I've been telling them to do that movie for a while now. When you've got a channel about reacting to music and a channel reacting to movies it only makes sense to do American Graffiti which is about both.
"Quarter moon walking through the milky way." Lyrics sang by Jennifer Warnes in the song "Right Time of The Night" in 1977 is another lyric I enjoy. Good song the Rob Squad might enioy.
One time in the 2010s, I was shopping in a clothing store and this song came on. I was in the shoe section, and I noticed that several people were singing it as it went on, some of them not so quietly, ha. It was clear that all of us remembered it quite fondly all those years later.
I'm a metalhead, I love this song because it reminds me of my ex and mother of my daughters. She passed away 5 years ago. I'd love to be able to just sit and shoot the breeze with her one more time. RIP Mychalina x
It’s so funny because I never heard this as a booty call. I always heard it as “I’m not going to ask you for forever yet, I just want to spend time with you” and it was so sweet. We really do hear different things at different stages of our lives haha!
I thought she was afraid of those things happening - moving in, changing her life - if she went out with him, and he's trying to explain that's not what he wants either.
@@k_salter Yes she is afraid of that. But he still wants to get his foot in the door, before she slams it in his face. So he says "he's not talkin bout movin in", to be nonthreatening.
This song reminds me of "One More Night" by Phil Collins.. he softly sings in the lyrics to "please give me one more night".. over and over.. I was 10 when that song came out and I kinda had an idea what he had in mind.. 😆
Great duo from the 1970s. I recommend "Love Is The Answer," "It's Sad to Belong," "Nights Are Forever Without You" and "We'll Never Have to Say Goodbye Again."
I never interpreted that part about seeing you tonight as something cheep. Back then, romance was ALIVE and REAL. He just really wanted to see her that night. It wasn't dirty. But, in today's world, that definitely would've meant it in a cheep way.
Exactly how I always took it. I always felt like it was a "lets feel things out and see where it leads, without jumping in and making commitments that we may not be able to keep" feeling. Really miss those days of romance and feelings.
Wow! What a difference a generation makes. This WAS a sweet song back in the 70’s. He’s talking to her on the phone. It’s been a while since they’ve seen each other and he just wants to see her. Listen to the lyrics. He said they could walk in the park, go for a drive at the beach, or just stay home and watch TV. He simply wanted to spend time with her. Today’s generation reads so much into older songs. Love you guys, but I think you missed the mark on this one. ❤
Definitely !!! People are really getting judgmental (the left), but at the same time, want your kids to be a member of the LBGTQ+abc123 crowd, allow pedophiles live near schools, pal around with your kids, have drag shows in elementary school classes, take hormone blockers and seriously consider transitioning to another sex because the y left thinks it's cool. I love 'em to death too, but I just hope they start seeing how ridiculous those attitudes are/can be and come back to us.
I agree with you! They missed the mark on this one. It's sad that society has come to the place where the current generation seems to be so paranoid about relationships that they see normal friendships/relationships as having an ulterior motive with the end result being an abnormal or lustful / hedonistic relationship. Can't even give a kid a pat on the back, a word of praise, a tousle of the hair, or a fist bump without someone reading some nefarious, predatory motive into it. So sad! I was born in 1955, and it was totally different back in the day! Sure, there were creeps and abusers then as well -- but if caught, they were dealt with swiftly and thoroughly. If the police didn't catch them before a family member or neighbor did, then God help them through the "private justice system"! But as a kid, I was respected, protected, and accepted by family, friends, neighbors, and total strangers alike. Most of my childhood acquaintances were too! Simpler times; more innocent times, with a large measure of decorum, manners, and mutual respect. Dear Lord, I miss those times, not only for myself but for my grandchildren as well! Sorry for the long comment!
Yes, I think the reaction may be missing the "I'm not talking 'bout the linen". Translation: It doesn't have to be sexual. I always took the song as sweet as it sounds. They could walk through a windy park, or go for a drive, or watch TV. Have you ever really just wanted someone's company? At least that's the way I took it. Maybe I'm naive.
England Dan (Dan Seals) had a pretty successful subsequent career in country music in the 80's. Some really great memorable singles if you liked this song. Everything That Glitters, Bop, I Will Be There, My Baby's Got Good Timing, One Friend, Big Wheels in the Moonlight, Meet Me in Montana (with Marie Osmond). Great great stuff.
The "Cheers" theme is called "Where Everyone Knows Your Name". I don't recall if it was ever released as a single, but everyone knew it! You could probably react to it (under 'Theme from Cheers'). England Dan is Dan Seals. His older brother is the Seals from Seals and Croft, who did "Summer Breeze" and "Diamond Girl".
Oh, and to answer Jay's question, this song reminds me more of The Greatest American Hero's theme song Believe It or Not (which they've reacted to before) more than it does the Cheers theme song.
This is a sweet song. It's about not going too fast. It's about not making the same mistakes. It's about taking the time and not promising too much too early. One of my all time favorites.
I always took the song to mean that an evening night kindled a man who was missing & wanting to see his old love to reach out with the promise of taking things slow. 😊👍❤
This song was playing in the oral surgeon's office while I while was lying there getting an abscess cleaned out. I started humming it, and the doctor paused and said, "I love that song, too." Then we both started humming. Such a cool song.
That's a great comment! I'll bet that was something to hear! As for me, I can't carry a tune normally, much less with a numbed mouth full of Novacaine! LOL!
Hitting some good stuff here. Takes me back to early childhood. These guys had huge radio play in the late 70s. (FYI studio version is much better). Other hits from them you'll love: Nights Are Forever Without You, Love Is The Answer, We'll Never Have To Say Goodbye Again, It's Sad To Belong. 🔥🎶
The guys did a great job on this live performance, but you might like to listen to the studio version. Strings and soft choral backup singers add to the production value.
The Wolfman was one of the very first syndicated radio DJs way back then. Hes a legend. U need to react to "Clap for the Wolfman" by the Guess Who. When I say he was super famous...i mean he was SUPER famous for a DJ. I'd like to hear ur thought regarding the music we grew up with, specifically the 70s. Those singers had to prove themselves in front of live audiences ON LIVE TV. NO electronic voice enhancers such as auto-tune. Just them and the music. How do u feel they compare to music today???
I agree back then better much that's what teens did. We were about the music either hanging out at your friends house, mall or a party or going to concerts. Simpler times.
No comparison! Their live performance was straightforward musicianship without any filters, auto-tune or fillers, unlike most of today's popular music. The song structure was also qualitatively much better than today's pop songs that lack dynamics and chord or melodic complexity. Even if soft 70s pop wasn't your thing, it's still worlds richer than what is being produced today. I hadn't heard this in a long time, and it was a breath of fresh air.
“Nights are Forever” is a great song. You could also check out Dan Seals’ solo stuff. He had a successful country music career after he and John split. “Everything that Glitters is Not Gold” “You Still Move Me” “Meet Me in Montana” all tremendous songs.
You asked who that was that introduced them. That is Wolfman Jack. He was a famous DJ from the 50 60's and 70's. Check out the movie American Grafity. He was in it.
Those of us who used to watch the Midnight Special back in the day really appreciate you playing “our music”. I’m so glad you are enjoying it!❤I loved this song. Brings back memories.😊
Love this song. England Dan later in life went by Dan Seals and sang "Meet me in Montana" with Marie Osmand. Great song. You may want to add that to your reactions list. Beautiful.
I have always loved this song. It is my favorite romantic, slow dance song. I take it as he really loves her, but she wants to take it slow, because he says, "I won't ask for promise, so you don't have to lie, we both played that game before, say I love you then say goodbye." He misses her and just wants to see her and spend time with her.
I’ve waited for this one. You need to dive down this rabbit hole! ❤Such beautiful memories with this one. ❤Everything they do is magical. Legendary musicians. ❤❤
i loved growing up with this music . we had so much fun at the skating rink and listening to this music . times were so much different then , makes me sad that my grandchildren won't ever know about those times .
“Really love to see you tonight” was so sweet! Spend some time together was easy! That warm wind blowing the stars around makes you say yeah ok! It was a popular song we all loved it!
One of the greatest romantic "date night" songs ever. This was a song you had your first kiss to, or fell in love to, or even proposed to your fiance to. This is what makes a love song great.
England Dan, is Dan Seals. He had numerous Country hits. "Everything That Glitters", "Bop", "Meet Me In Montana" is a duet with Marie Osmond. "You Still Move Me", is amazing by Dan Seals.😀❤
Might I suggest, Dan Seals (England Dan) and Marie Osmond, Meet me in Montana. Or anything by Dan Seals showing off his country chops. I loved the reaction and it brough back so many great memories.
This live version is very nice, but I still love the Original 'on-air' or 'Official' version even more, esp. due to the Harmony from the Backup Singers. This was their Biggest Hit, I'm sure, since this is about the only one I remember hearing from them. Really Nice, easy-going Song. Thx for Reaction, You Guys! :)
I saw them at the Carowinds amusement park back in the 70s. Great little concert! Back then, you got free admission to a concert with your park admission. I saw the Righteous Brothers, Frankie Valli and the Four Seasons, Leo Sayer, And others I just can’t remember. Good times!
Wolfman Jack was a prominent DJ back in the 60’s and ‘70’s, so much so that the band The Guess Who wrote a song called “Clap for the Wolfman”!! Check it out sometime, it’s pretty good!! 😜
"England Dan" is Dan Seals, the younger brother of James Seals (of "Seals and Crofts" fame), then went on to become fairly big in country music. (Scored pretty big with "Meet Me in Montana", a duet with Marie Osmond)
You guys are funny. This was an invite to get together and no pressure on her. This was romantic and sweet! Listen to more of these guys, you’ll love them. Thanks for this, it’s a good one!❤
"England" Dan Seals was one of my late wife's favorite singers. He had a good country career after the soft pop era of his career faded. One of note is a song called "Everything that glitters, is not gold". We were lucky enough to see him in concert in the 90's. Great show.
So first of all Mr. Wolfman Jack....Robert Weston Smith, known as Wolfman Jack, was an American disc jockey (DJ). Famous for his gravelly voice, he credited it for his success, saying, "It's kept meat and potatoes on the table for years for Wolfman and Wolfwoman. A couple of shots of whiskey helps it. I've got that nice raspy sound. I had almost forgotten about him. His fame allowed him to do announcer and Master of Ceremonies gigs like this show. Plus he got bit parts on TV Shows and Movies. Now this song brings back fond memories too. I remember many summer days hearing it come on the radio in my youth and it's just one of those songs that brings a smile to your face.
"Nights Are Forever", "Love Is The Answer", "It's Sad To Belong To Someone Else" and "We'll Never Have To Say Goodbye Again" are other great songs by these two men.
Two great icons Wolfman Jack introducing Dan and John Ford Coley also my favorite songs growing up used listen to it over and over again thanks for the memories
I love these guys and all their music. My favorite song of theirs is, "It is Sad to Belong". That song is the story of my life. Thank you to the two of you.
They had a great sound! His brother is Jim Seals of Seals and Croft, a duo that has a bunch of hits also, like Summer Breeze and Get Closer! England Dan & John Ford Coley had great songs like Nights Are Forever Without You, It's Sad To Belong, We'll Never Have To Say Goodbye Again, Love Is The Answer, and Gone Too Far. His solo career was also great with country hits like Bop, Addicted, Everything That Glitters, and his duet with Marie Osmond, Meet Me In Montana.
From the first note, you can't help but love this song. Just a great melody and beautiful sediments. 💕 Great reaction. Buckets of Maple Syrup love from Canada ❤️❤️ 🇨🇦🇨🇦
They have a bunch more great songs. I’d really love to see you react to “Love is the Answer”. Other great ones include Nights are forever without you, We’ll never have to say goodbye and It’s sad to belong
I’ve always loved this song. There’s a movie with Geena Davis, and Samuel L Jackson that has a pretty funny moment. They are driving, and this song comes on the radio. Samuel’s character starts singing out loud, but he’s singing I’m not talking about the linen. It’s really funny. The movie is called the Long kiss good night. It’s a pretty entertaining little action movie.
Dan Seals (the lead singer) went on to have great solo career in country. Everything That Glitters, Addicted, You Still Move Me are some of his best. He was always one of my favorites. R.I.P. Dan. Miss that sweet voice. 💔💔
Other 70's soft rock musicians with great sounds and songs were, Joey Scarbury (Believe It Or Not), Firefall (You Are The Woman), Jigsaw (Sky High), Pilot (Magic), Gallery (Nice To Be With You), Little River Band (Reminiscing), Orleans (Dance With Me), Hamilton, Joe Frank & Reynolds (Fallin' In Love), Pablo Cruise, (Love Will Find A Way), Ace (How Long), Kenny Nolan ( I Like Dreamin'), Sammy Johns (Chevy Van), 10CC (I'm Not In Love), Gary Wright (Dream Weaver), Eric Carmen (All By Myself). So many more, but these were on the radio back in the day.
This is a special song for me. Makes me think of my high school sweetheart. We we started dating in '78 and were off and on until a few months before what was to be our '84 wedding. We went our separate ways but it was always great to see her and we remained great friends until she passed away three years ago. As the song says, I really do miss her smile.
It's astonishing that this live performance sounds almost identical to the studio version. In the 70s, you had to be an amazing musician to make it, no doubt about it. I remember hearing this song on the radio all the time!
Dan Seals (England Dan) is the brother to another great singer/artist Jim Seals from the band "Seals & Croft" this band had several great songs. I'm a big sucker for harmony bands, and I'm so glad you both enjoy them too. Here's another live performance "Nights Are Forever Without You - England Dan and John Ford" Oh and just as others has said in the comments. Wolfman Jack was a famous "disc Jockey" (radio announcer) from the 1960's - 1990's in his early days Wolfman Jack made sporadic public appearances, usually as a Master of Ceremonies for rock bands at clubs and special appearances. Lovely reaction guys thanks for the trip down memory lane🔥✨✨💖🎶🤗
In 1995, I had front row tickets to a all-star concert. The Hollies, England Dan and John Ford Coley, Bread and The Drifters. Sensational show and everyone sounded like they did in the 70's. Even Fabian was there.
Dan Seals had several hits on country and a monster hit with Marie Osmond called Meet me in Montana. I hired Dan for a concert once and he did a great job and ended up coming back to our town several years in row.
Dan Seals had a ton of country hits in the 80's and 90's! Everything that glitters is not gold, BOP, Meet me in Montana (w/ Marie Osmond), Addicted, One friend, They rage on, and Bordertown are all great!
If you haven't already done this one, please check out their Love is the Answer (written by Todd Rundgren). Beautiful lyrics and melody. Album version.
Wow, y’all are taking me back, not only with England Dan and John Ford Coley, one of the best songs from my teenage years, but , Man , Wolfman Jack and Midnight Special! “ Let the Midnight Special shine its ever loving light on you!”
One of the best soft rock tunes out there. Great choice. The "England Dan" is actually Dan Seals of Seals & Crofts ("Summer Breeze")... and he's actually American, not English, which I always found funny. They were together for one grand decade that we call the 70s. I hope you do more of their songs, including "Nights Are Forever Without You", "We'll Never Have to Say Goodbye Again", "Love is the Answer," and "It's Sad to Belong". And I'm glad you got to "meet" Wolfman Jack, who might just be the most famous radio DJ of all time. He got his nickname not just for his facial hair but his tendency to howl. ;)
Seals & Crofts would be a great rabbit hole, even if it's just his brother. Some great songs, they were everywhere. My daughter even had a friend in school named "Summer Breeze."
Cheers! I think your right, the piano riff at the very begging of the intro to Cheers is kind of similar now that you mentioned it! I love the Cheers song! I never noticed that until you said it but wow yeah great connection. I’m from Boston born and raised so Cheers has been a staple for me…..I used to work down the street from the actual Cheers bar. Anyway I was only two years old when this song came out but I do remember it playing on the radio around that time….brings back feelings of a simpler time. Great reaction choice guys.

Jay, Cheers was a great show. Watched every episode back then. It's wild to me how that's considered an old show now. Life goes by SOO fast!!
Cheers was one of the best sitcoms in tv history. God I miss that show and that theme song.
Nights are Forever Without You is still on my playlist but they had a lot of good songs. They did a great job singing this one live.
Mine to.
I love them so much from the 70s and I truly love love is the answer and when I hear it I just get so weepy in the lyrics are so good
Wolfman Jack was a famous radio DJ back in the 70’s
“Nights are Forever” is a great song. You could also check out Dan Seals’ solo stuff. He had a successful country music career after he and John split. “Everything that Glitters is Not Gold” “You Still Move Me” “Meet Me in Montana” all tremendous songs.
I actually cannot suggest Everything that Glitters enough. That’s one of the best songs ever written.
I had and lost a Dan Seals solo album or maybe a cassette. I remember loving it.
Could not hit that like button fast enough!! England Dan (Seals), brother of Jim Seals of Seals and Crofts
Beautiful.
What a great live performance. Real talent there.
I have always loved this song. It is my favorite romantic, slow dance song. I take it as he really loves her, but she wants to take it slow, because he says,
"I won't ask for promise, so you don't have to lie, we both played that game before, say I love you then say goodbye."
He misses her and just wants to see her and spend time with her.
Love is the Answer is the song you're looking for. It's the best.
Love Is The Answer should be your next by them. It's my favorite by them.
Love these classics. The 70's produced some amazing soft rock with great harmonies and excellent writing. Good choice.
England Dan Seals is the brother of Jim Seals from the popular group Seals and Crofts.
Oh so many memories, one of my favourite 70's tracks, takes me back!
England Dan and John Ford Cooley
Love Is The Answer
Nights Are Forever (Without You)
I’ve waited for this one. You need to dive down this rabbit hole! ❤Such beautiful memories with this one. ❤Everything they do is magical. Legendary musicians. ❤❤
Announcer was legend, Wolfman Jack DJ
i loved growing up with this music . we had so much fun at the skating rink and listening to this music . times were so much different then , makes me sad that my grandchildren won't ever know about those times .
Really good tune and excellent reaction as always! You guys have crept up the chart and are now my favorite reactors!
“Really love to see you tonight” was so sweet! Spend some time together was easy! That warm wind blowing the stars around makes you say yeah ok! It was a popular song we all loved it!
This is "Soft Rock" at its very best 👌. Have always loved this one. Beautiful Beautiful song, sung beautifully. 💯%❤🎶❤🎶
Love is the Answer is one of their best songs.
7 years old when I first heard this song, and instantly became embedded in my life's soundtrack.
The piano caught me, and the vocals owned it.
This is an absolutely beautiful song and most definitely a soft rock classic.
Loved this song as a kid. The 70's had such purely great singers.
I haven't heard this song in forever. This song was all over the soft rock stations in the mid 70's!
"Sad To Belong", "Love Is The Answer", +++
So many good songs they had.
Btw, Dan is the brother of Jim Seals, of Seals and Croft.
I was really little in the late 70s...I remember this being on the radio alot..loved it then love it now...70s soft rock at its best...smooth
Totally agree. Background singers repeating the lines added so much. I always thought the Midnight Special recorded songs were not as good.
Amber & Jordan, I have this song on my playlist. This song is just smooth sailing riding around n chilling out.
one of my all time favorite songs, looking forward to the Amber sway.
Yeah, they missed it.
"England" Dan Seals was one of my late wife's favorite singers. He had a good country career after the soft pop era of his career faded. One of note is a song called "Everything that glitters, is not gold". We were lucky enough to see him in concert in the 90's. Great show.
One of my favorites from them is “Love is the Answer.”
I love their songs. ❤
Definitely the 70's
I remember they played this on the radio all the time when I was a kid. Love this.
"Nights Are Forever", "Love Is The Answer", "It's Sad To Belong To Someone Else" and "We'll Never Have To Say Goodbye Again" are other great songs by these two men.
It’s just a lovely song, Melodie’s to die for, it moves beautiful from verse to chorus and has a great middle eight.
I get the "Cheers" musical reference. You are correct.
Two great icons Wolfman Jack introducing Dan and John Ford Coley also my favorite songs growing up used listen to it over and over again thanks for the memories
Such a great song.
I love these guys and all their music. My favorite song of theirs is, "It is Sad to Belong". That song is the story of my life. Thank you to the two of you.
One of my fave 70s songs. It just gives u such a great feeling when hearing it
They had a great sound!
His solo career was also great with country hits like
Bop, Addicted, Everything That Glitters, and his duet with Marie Osmond, Meet Me In Montana.
From the first note, you can't help but love this song. Just a great melody and beautiful sediments. 💕 Great reaction. Buckets of Maple Syrup love from Canada ❤️❤️ 🇨🇦🇨🇦
Wish groups today could sing live like this. Truly a lost art.
They have a bunch more great songs. I’d really love to see you react to “Love is the Answer”. Other great ones include Nights are forever without you, We’ll never have to say goodbye and It’s sad to belong
Love Is The Answer is one of my favorite songs, not just by the duo, but of all time.
These 2 had such great 70s soft rock love songs. Love is the Answer my favourite of their's
Dan Seals (the lead singer) went on to have great solo career in country. Everything That Glitters, Addicted, You Still Move Me are some of his best. He was always one of my favorites. R.I.P. Dan. Miss that sweet voice. 💔💔
Addicted is one of my favorites!!
Dan Seals country career was very good. He's also brother to Seals from Seals and Croft. My personal favorite is All that Glitters is not gold.
Yea, that was a time before equipment to equalize voices. People really sang then.
We’re All Alone by Rita Coolidge is another great song I think you’ll enjoy.
In 1995, I had front row tickets to a all-star concert. The Hollies, England Dan and John Ford Coley, Bread and The Drifters. Sensational show and everyone sounded like they did in the 70's. Even Fabian was there.
I think Whenever I Call You Friend by Kenny Loggins and Stevie Nicks would be a great song to react to.
When you can't help but sway back and forth, you know it's good.
Next do their hit Nights are Forever a little more rock
Love is the answer is their best in my opinion. I hope you get a chance to check it out!
Luv, luv, luv! this song. Has always been one of my favorites since I was a kid.
Dan Seals had several hits on country and a monster hit with Marie Osmond called Meet me in Montana. I hired Dan for a concert once and he did a great job and ended up coming back to our town several years in row.
Bop was one of his first hit country songs and he also called his touring bus Bop. Great saxaphone player also.
Dan Seals had a ton of country hits in the 80's and 90's! Everything that glitters is not gold, BOP, Meet me in Montana (w/ Marie Osmond), Addicted, One friend, They rage on, and Bordertown are all great!
This is one of those songs I love this song so much. When they talk about yacht rock, this is right up there at the top.
He got his nickname not just for his facial hair but his tendency to howl. ;)
no, Jim Seals was Seals of Seals & Crofts. Dan is the brother.
@@surlechapeau Ouch. Good catch. Thanks.
@@Shrykespeare you're welcome
Please listen to "Waiting for a Star to Fall" from BOY MEETS GIRL.
"I'd really love to see you tonight," what a line aye? True classic.
I'm not talking about the linen
