    Planning to use this video to aid in the repair of stripped head bolts on a 2006 scion tC. There are no good guides for the car specifically but this is the exact same engine so I hope it will be similar :)

    the process of taking out the head bolts had my cringe. Should have it been 2-3 step process just as you install them in?

    Thanks for the video! Could you share what bit you used to take out the cylinder head bolts? I can't seem to figure out what it is. I have seen 10 and 12 mm, and also triple square (XZN), bi-hex (double hex), 12 point, and 12 spline flange...the consensus seems to be 12 mm double hex but I cant find that bit anywhwere. Any insight would be helpful, thanks!

      that could be happened.
      so check basic first how is the temperature guage working

    Yo, why is the top of my engine rattling during constant throttle on the freeway and everytime I shift as well as right between 2200 and 3000 rpms. Started out of no where. No CEL car runs great, passed smog yet it's getting louder. 124k miles first gen tc. Anyone know what the heck it is. Almost positive the sound is coming from under the valve cover on the driver side of the engine, anything helps thanks in advance

    • @levicrespin9058

      might be your pcv valve
      when they get old they will rattle. dont replace it with a cheap version either it will still rattle, go for an oem replacement and should be good!

    Why didn't you show the last bolt being taken out? The vanos must be taken off first with a 10mm socket or else you will STRIP that bolt.

    • @dennissmith3060
      @dennissmith3060 3 ปีที่แล้ว

      OK, I figured it out. That bearing easily lifts out of place with a gentle pry of a screwdriver, and then you can access the bolt underneath.
