2025 and they are still selling Prebuild "Gamer PCs" - "E-Gamer PC" with GTX 1650 4GB in them. The price is around 766-970 USD and people are still buying this old crap. Something positive I've started to see this year is Prebuilds with AMD cards in them.
If people pay that kind of money, then the price is correct. So you have to vote with your wallet, otherwise there is no chance that anything will change.
4 months ago, Nvidia completely stops making the 4k series graphics cards to completely focus of ramping up massive production of the 5k series. Despite this we get barley anything on launch.
That's literally not what happened. They stopped selling 40 series cards so there would not be any left to buy. Then they release a few 50 series cards and sell them to scalpers. Nvidia has been doing this since the 30 series.
Consoles use PC parts. Any price rises will affect them 3x fold, because they are effectively the budget segment to video gaming. The one thing consoles have going for them is that the hardware is cheap-"er", being subsidised by more expensive games AND PC gamers as a whole in the chip market. If they can't afford the console, they can't play, or afford the gamers either. PC gamers spend more AND are willing to spend more AND they outnumber console players (+1.6 billion PC gamers vs millions of Console gamers). I'm afraid console gaming will suffer a much faster demise vs PC gaming if alongside each other.

Nobody cares about these graphics cards. 99.99% of RTX 4090 owners will be skipping the 50 series completely. There is zero reason to upgrade. Especially for $2,000 for a pathetic 25% performance boost. Not worth it. I will wait until the RTX 6090 is announced.
