The moment I saw this scene in the episode I audibly gasped and instantly thought back to the “Hyacinthus and Apollo Myth” and the fact that Hyacinthus was in the background when this scene happened just adds insult to injury I honestly can’t imagine what Apollo was feeling in that moment😭
Fun fact! In some version of the myth it’s a genuine accident on Apollo’s part, and in others, Zephyrus purposely sets Apollo’s discus off course with the wind to kill Hyacinth out of jealousy
I firmly believe it was because he made fun of Eros that one time after he (Apollo) defeated Python (Apollo was only 4 days old when he defeated Python, so he must've only have been days old still when he came across Eros). I don't think the whole Daphne fiasco was the full extent of Eros' wrath/punishment
I caught that as soon as I watched it. Poor Apollo. I bet Hyacinthus ran away as soon as this event was about to take place. Don't blame him. And kudos to them bringing Prince Hyacinthus back to life and a God in Blood Of Zeus. Out of all Apollo's lovers, Hyacinthus is my favourite (and I love that in one myth, Apollo actually did bring him back and turned him into a God)
Ares is really confident for someone that only won like 2-3 fights in greek mythology. Man even lost against Diomedes (tho tbf Athena did help him a bit) a mortal man.
@@AdeptKing to be fair, Athens existed. No seriously think about it, who was the Ares the Patron god of? Sparta. Who were the people Athens historically were at odds with? Sparta. In short Athens was better at spreading and recording their versions of the story, so most of the surviving versions we get show Ares in a negative light, usually so someone like Athena can come along and do it better. You see this with other Gods. For example in the Trojan war you had Artemis at one point get into a fight with Hera, something really stupid that ended poorly for her, then you have Apollo come along, and he decides not to go fight a significantly stronger god and instead look for other ways to get what he wants done. One God makes a mistake, the other (who the story teller might be trying to show off as being better) doesn’t, or succeeds where the other fails. Also in that war you had moment when Aphrodite stepped onto the battle field, but then was chastised for this and told she had no place there. In short, it’s a story that tries to counter the idea Aphrodite has any connections to war, even in spite of the fact part of her deal should theoretically be a desire to protect one’s loved ones, for example a mother protecting her child (something she actual does in the story with Aeneas.)

Ah, actually it's Zephyrus' fault since he was jealous, not Apollo. Since then, Zephyr has worked under Eros/Cupid and even helped him with dating his future wife Psyche.
Um, he didn't accidentally kill him. Zephyrus used his airbending powers to draw the disc towards Hyacinth's head killing him. Zephyrus was jealous with Apollo and wanted Hyacinth as his boyfriend but Zephyrus is the "If I can't have you, no one can" kind of God. So he would rather kill his crush than let his crush be with another man/God.
