I wish I could show your channel to everyone who ever claimed bass players shouldn't use pedals. Amazing build

I was captivated the whole time. Saw this board on Instagram and really glad you had a video!

I have always had your modular synth approach to bass fx pedals, and many of my pedal purchases were inspired by your vids over the years... but now I am starting a noise-rock band and need to switch from a dozen pedals on a coffee table in the studio, to a portable rig for jams/gigs. This vid gave me the inspiration/motivation to begin the actual build! always an inspiration, Sir!

Very nice - as a fellow Temple Audio user i would be interested as to whether you had to place plates off-center on some of those pedals in order to get the tight spacing, i know i did the first time i did a board with the plates. Good for first build, not so great if you need to move a pedal or reorder things. It's one of my big gripes with their system but...seems like it's just a trade-off of the fixed width grid approach. The 4-port side connector is a wonderful gizmo, i use one of them to optionally insert another small pedalboard (also Temple Audio) into the chain and it is sooo nice that you can simply disconnect that and not have to plug in a loop there (ie it works like a patch-bay, not just a port)

    Looks like a dream board..!
I made a very similar pedal board for guitar a while back using the same temple stuff. Here are a couple of things I learned while using that board (which I have since taken apart):
    1. The sum mod seems great in theory, however, I found that when relying on it to sum my stereo effects to mono my delays and some reverbs were summing out of phase… there were some weird things happening. I was using an empress echo system and source audio Ventris. It might be something to do with how these pedals create width when they are in stereo mode… the only way to fix it was to take out the right side patch cables in both units (effectively turning it from a stereo rig to a straight up mono rig).
    2. When you have a board this big you really benefit from having a pedal board switching system. Something like the G2. It does begin to change the fundamental tone when there are that many pedals in series. Whether that’s good or bad is up to you. But I found that it was too much for me.
Keep up the good work mate. 🤙🏼

Nice job! Something so satisfying about a well thought out and successful board build! My partner finally cracked it at me the other day as I did yet another pedalboard rejig, she said ‘How long have you been playing bass for and you still have got this figured out?’ 😂 She kinda has a point. Can’t wait to hear how it all sounds dude!

@@ZacharyRizer thanks for the reply. I have long presumed it was a choice to have the direct sound for your videos.
I love what you do so keep on keeping on.
I personally find drive pedals harsh without the filtering of a cabinet that is not full range.
      Looking forward to part 2.

Eagerly waiting for part two and more performance videos. The world needs more bass. Boards like this totally expand the instrument and artist’s potential. I appreciate your willingness to share the tools, especially the combinations. I’ve also had my eye on a Microcosm. One more quick look at that might be the tipping point.

Also waiting for part 2 as I'm curious as to why you settled on the Empress compressor over the Cali76

Nice board and thanks for the vid! Not sure but I think the power supply is named after the socal city ojai, pronounced with the Spanish J sound so o-hi …I may be wrong :)

    Hey,
    Great video as always.
I enjoyed it more that I probably should have.
I really like this board design and wish to make one similar.
Could you please measure the holes in the grid for me?
The locking holes and the cable thru holes and the distances apart.
    Thank you so very much.

I've been wanting for mine to be up high too, I move things constantly as well. I was thinking about mounting my main board vertically on the wall and have a switcher (I'll get to regarding your add) on the floor controlling loops and banks. I'm just running it through my head if I want to spend that much on wires...
    Looks awesome!

Very cool sounds coming out of this board.
I believe I started to follow your channel due to the C4 synth pedal, and I'm curious why that didn't make the board?

Your video is really cool! I've been following your channel for some time, always creative and with a lot of information for us very clear bassists and what matters. In the next video I would recommend you to comment on the dilemma of active lows with passive pickups or active pickups, and the relationship of this system with pedals. Be well!!

yes awesome! fun to watch. I also finished building my "last" pedalboard just recently. it is still in a testing mode, but I'll do a timelapse video and some footage how we built the chassis as well.....
always good videos you make! entertaining and informative!

I've definitely been meaning to get my pedals on a board so I could have less set-up when I want to play, and I think I was planning to use a temple board. It's definitely not going to be as complex as this but it's important to have a standard set-up to start and then keep learning I think

Totally awesome and nutz setup. I got 9 pedals on my board at a time and of course it's too much for most. Btw, Ojai is pronounced O-hi (it's a town in Socal)

Is everything running to the front of the amp, or are you putting any of the pedals in an effects loop?

Hi Zachary, I need help. I don't know who to ask ! Please :)
From your point of view, what order would you use to wire these pedals :
source audio C4 MIDI \ Ebs analog compressor \ Octavbre analog octaver \ source audio distortion Aftershock MIDI \ Meris ottobit MIDI \ TC elec. Chorus analog \ source audio Collider Delay\ Reverb MIDI?
    Is this order correct?
In addition, I possess a Morningstar MC8 MIDI controller and a Morningstar ML5 looper. How can I wire the analog pedals to the ML5 so as to let them turned on\off by the MIDI controller ?
Thank you very much for any help
