      Whether the job is good or not depends on many factors. If you got offered that job you must have made some application for the job. In that case you should go for it. But if you are interested in Software Development and you get into Application Support then you may have challenges where you will keep thinking about software development instead of support.

    Hi sir... I have a doubt... Everyone is telling that the salary of app. support will be lower than developer.. Is that true? If true how much difference will be there?

    • @MusingsbyAmit
      @MusingsbyAmit  3 ปีที่แล้ว +3

      As a fresher, your salary depends on what do you know and which company you have started with. As you start growing within a company your salary will completely depend on how you work to achieve the goals of the project or the client or the company which are mostly one and the same. Initially, there can be a difference in App Support Engineers salary vs a Software Developers salary. But after that, your salary is a sum total of how good you are in whatever you are doing and how it is helping your company. So if you are an app support engineer but you are the best one out there then your salary can also go able the software developer's salary. Salaries depend on the invisible position within the company - here find out what is the meaning of invisible positioning bit.ly/invposvid No matter what everyone says. There is no way to determine what will be your salary depending on your starting role or position within a company.

    • @MusingsbyAmit
      @MusingsbyAmit  3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Both are good career options and both have their place in the software industry. As application support engineer you have to make sure that you follow all the processes that are required to be followed so that the application keep running on time every time. Also you need to be able to solve problems and get problems resolved from the development team in case the application breaks. This job requires your problem solving and ability to resolve things quickly. In QA you are managing the quality of the application before it is released into production environment. Here you need a critical eye to make sure that you can find the quality issues with the application. This is more about maintaining the standard of the application. So you have to decide based on whether you are someone who can follow processes and are a problem solver then it is application support. And if you look at everything critically and want things to be perfect then go for QA.

    • @MusingsbyAmit
      @MusingsbyAmit  3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Yes it falls under application support. You have to think about what is your dream. Where do you want to see yourself in a few years? This can be based on tools and technologies you want to support. Or you want to become a software developer. Or it can be just I want to be able to make xyz income. Once you think about your goal which may look impossible. Then you start working on a Path. What is the path can I take to reach this goal. After that it is all about planning and executing your plan. When you are able to follow the 3Ps Passion, Path and Plan then automatically you will see yourself growing.

You will not get a job depending on degree you have but MCA will have more opportunities that BCA graduates will not get and competition will be less because a lot of BCA students will drop out and not do MCA.

      Hi Riyaz, What I am seeing is that if you are a BCA and want to get into Programming Jobs in IT Industry then you have to do some certification or complete MCA. Most software developer jobs require BE or BTech or MCA or MSc etc.

    I have experience in ERP, CRM (no coding),but I don't have payslips, EPF because of which I was put into support analyst.(2.5 lac),while people who can't understand the business flow of the company get more than 6.5. how can I show that I am an ERP developer,Salesforce is easy compared to other CRM ERP

    • @MusingsbyAmit
      @MusingsbyAmit  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      If you have experience in ERP and CRM then you have to prove your experience by working in those fields. Payslip will not prove your experience. Your knowledge and communication skills will. You have to talk to your resource manager without comparing to people who are getting the higher salary. If your work is comparable or better than high paying jobs people then you will get that salary. But you cannot go and say that I know more than these people. There must be something that the company found during the evaluation process because of which these people have a higher salary or are considered right for that job that they did not find with you. So identify those gaps and try to fill the gaps. We can never say that I am better than someone else because there is no way to prove unless you get on the same project and are able to do the work that they are not able to do or do it faster than them. Hello Amit i watching since 5 months nice video's , i back graduate working in BPO back office can I transit my career into it using course my age is 35 please advice , many more people are looking to change their career

    • @MusingsbyAmit
      @MusingsbyAmit  4 ปีที่แล้ว

      Hi Ganesh, To transition into IT you should think about things that you can do coming from a BPO background. If you jump into programming then you have to start from beginning and that can be frustrating. Instead you should get into QA or Project Management or Data Science etc. Get into things where you can use your BPO experience. But it is possible. You have to have confidence and enthusiasm. Dont come in thinking it will change your life overnight.

      Hi Alex, I was doing Musings with Entrepreneurs on Tuesday. But only one or two people showed up. The regular Musings with Software Engineers is on Thursday at 9:05 PM. That I will continue. Maybe if someone comes up with a business or entrepreneurship question related to Software Industry then I will also take it up there.

      Lets meet online in my live on Thursday at 9:05 PM. I have also got a better WebCam so that I have clear video. I have been testing video over the last one week. Because I found out that the video was glitching. So next experience will be better.
