      Did he start revving it up in 1st gear ? or do you need to switch to 2nd gear and then rev it up to 6k and above ?

    • @yourgod3157
      @yourgod3157 4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @@CLhighlightsful sure, you can rev it up in 1st gear...at least in a 2000 as it doesn't have the rev limiter.
      He dropped the clutch here and you can hear the wheel hop.....strut cartridges are bad sounds like.

    • @CLhighlightsful
      @CLhighlightsful 4 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@yourgod3157 How do you ensure the gear switch is smooth ? I bought this recently and seems like I am lacking in in shifting. Havent tried 1 to 2, but from 2 to 3 it jerks a bit. I may not be doing it quick enough...

    • @yourgod3157
      @yourgod3157 4 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      @@CLhighlightsful I'm not sure I understand your dilemma..... I usually shift around 4,500 to 5,000 rpm's to avoid unwanted lift. Obviously, you can bring her right up to redline to shift, its up to you. When you shift, let OFF THE GAS PEDAL momentarily to avoid power shifting, or a damaging over rev. That will wear your clutch out fast or blow your motor! I always use the clutch and make the shift quickly, so that when you let the clutch back out, you don't lose many rpm's. As soon as you start raising the clutch pedal to engage, then start to depress gas pedal. I find that the higher the rpm's, the smoother the shift will be. Practice makes perfect for a real smooth shift.. Hope this helps.

      @@Itsmeeman1 VVT-i doen't change the dimensions, it changes only the timing when it should open and close the valve, it has nothing to do with the sports configuration. VVTL-i, like in this Video, does the same thing like thw VVTI-i, but it also can change the stroke of the valves. This Engine does this change at 6000-6200rpm, you can slightly hear it.

    Bad oil pumps

    • @PaidInFull1995
      @PaidInFull1995 4 ปีที่แล้ว +7

      Correction: Bad oil pan design, turning hard to the right at high rpms will starve the pump. The oil pump itself it holds up like any other greatly designed Toyota oil pump.
      My Celica sees 8200 rpms on the daily without breaking a sweat & that's with a dented oil pan, OEM pump & 280,000 km on the clock.
