Hey there, I just ran across your channel by chance and glad I did. I love these " Will it Run Vids". 21 Desotos is one hell of a collection! Regards from Ody Slim
I love the green, too! I had a two-tone green 57 Firesweep several years ago (one of the first Desoto’s I’ve ever owned), and it was the prettiest color combinations!
I was wondering what happened to your channel. I hope you put that rough patch behind you. I'm also glad you got the green car running. Keep coming with the updates!
I hope it’s behind us also! It’s been a rough few weeks! Now that the weather is starting to warm up we will certainly be able to get more done! Thanks for watching!!
wow,, first off, what an awesome collection of desotots, second, once you find , get all your cars tuned up, ready to "actually take for long distance romantic trips" do you plan on a side gig of renting them out for weddings special occasions, highschool grads, if so, i wish lots of luck.
I plan to rent out my flower truck, but it’s not something I’ll hand my keys over to someone. I’ve worked too hard and spent too much money to trust it in someone else’s care. I plan to either chauffeur or use it for photography sessions, though! ☺️
@@kevinkobayashi I’m building a 38 Dodge 1Ton truck for an event truck for my flower farm and have made a few videos on it. We moved it out of the shop to pull the cab and bed off.
my buddy Mike Pettinger here in Nevada is interested in that green Desoto. He has a 59 Imperial 4DHT Crown I think it is. Plus other Forward Look cars. I do as well but Im into my Plymouths and 57 Chrysler Saratoga. He's just excited about this car. John Fowlie will have to come get it from you guys but Mike has been pestering me about finding your channel and I now have lol Very cool stuff!
I’m glad you found us! Jeff has been corresponding with Mike on the phone about the Desoto. Hoping John will be able to make the trip out here to get it in a few months!
Here's to Virgil M. Exner Sr. (1909-1973), and my friend Gordon Davis, still with us today, who is on Facebook. Gordon did detail work on the design of the 1959 DeSoto in 1957, working for the Exner design group. I am amazed that you folks have managed to save this many '59 DeSotos, all in one place! Parts are the big problem, but there are a lot of support groups for these cars now, and if you can't find the part, either used or NOS, you have to fabricate it yourself or have an expert machinist craftsman do it. Where are you located?
@@TheDejael we are good friends with Gordon, know Virgil Jr, and a couple of the other designers still left. We have been doing Desoto’s for years and collect what we can to keep our hobby going. We’re located in upstate NY.
Just curious, where are you guys located? I knew of a guy in Maryland, north of Baltimore (Bel Air, I think?) who had a fetish for the '59, and had a bunch of them in various states of condition. I remember one of them was a Seville. He also had a '58 Firesweep that he wanted to sell. I would have bought it, but someone else beat me to it. This was back in 1995.
Nice job Jeff & Jess. Glad to see that you have the green DeSoto up and running!
Thanks for watching, Gord! We’re glad to have it running, too!
DeSoto heaven!
Thanks so much for watching! ☺️
Great job Jeff & Jess! Loved the video, please keep the updates coming! Love seeing & hearing it run

I love desotos and furys. This is a gem stumbling upon. Keep dropping videos and I will keep watching
Thanks so much!!

I love those DeSoto's. The 59s are one of the best looking IMO. I noticed a 64-66 Imperial in the shop also. Looking forward to some good content.
Good eye! Stay tuned for a little more on that one. It’s a heartbreaker. Thanks for watching!
I absolutely ❤that you guys are saving all these beautiful cars
Thank you so much for watching!
I'm gonna keep watching as you guys do your thing
Glad to see you get that one running. Green is my favorite car color.

@@TheFinFarm I bet I know the exact colors! Neighbors had a 57 Plymouth in two tone green that I thought was just beautiful.
Definitely following this project!

a UNIQUE video, I'm groaning at 13 DeSotos, but an awesome year and model no doubt
Maybe a 361 wedge in this one?
We have a soft spot for the 55-59 finned Mopars. 🤪

Desoto is named after my ancestors anglo saxon european a Spanish explorer spain 🇺🇲
I sww these and I think of that rare pink firesweep they wrecked in Roadwarrior with RHD
I haven’t seen it, but my husband has. I don’t plan on doing anything like that with these. 🫣🤪
I wish I had a 59 Desoto. Alas, I am a broke college student LOL
@@ewbait you’ll get there!
@@TheFinFarm Thanks!
Hernando de Soto a Spanish explorer this car was named after 🇺🇲
Do any of them have the Bendix electrojector electronic fuel injection?
No. That was an extremely rare option for 1958.
What percentage of Chrysler's total production of De Sotos would you say this represents? De Soto was more or less on the way out in '59.
Per google, 45,734 total Desoto’s were produced in 1959. That would make our representation very much less than 1 percent! 😅
I get a feeling you like '59 Desoto's
Guilty! 😅

You could make a Christine out of one of those. 😉
Just paint it red and white and it counts! 😅
