They formed in 2011 debuting on April 8, 2012 under SM Entertainment. Their music is a unique combination of music genres performed in Korean, Mandarin, and Japanese. In 2014 last time EXO was separated as subgroups to release music, they’ve been active as one group since then performing in multiple languages. EXO remained with 9 members after the departures of Kris(main rapper), Tao, & LuHan after legal issues arose between them & S.M company during 2014 and 2015. In 2016 three of the nine members have a sub unit EXO-CBX while still being part of EXO, which incorporates their stage name initials for Chen, Baekhyun, and Xiumin. The guns filled with alcohol, it’s a play on taking shots(drinking) but also a play on sniper’s shot to the head(nicknamed “Love Shot”), the dancing mimickes both meanings. In the storyline they’re seen battling against “the red force” (evildoers trying to attack & captor them & tree of life). Yes, I am a fan the very moment I first listened n watch EXO music video song about 5 years back! Since then, I never leave EXO, their songs are all awesome, literally every songs are good. Not just the main tittle song of their each album, in fact , many of their B side songs in their album are gold. If you Fan EXO, you will not be disappointed!

A few things u have to keep in mind as you get more and more into k pop...the Companies in Korea (all the companies) make sure they have dancers, strong vocalists, and at least 2 rappers per group, male or female...(example: BTS, R.M. and Jin are not the strongest dancers, at when they started they weren't, but R.M.'s rapping skills were beyond reproach. And well Jin was picked for his face, but he has worked his ass off so much that he is one of the strongest vocalists that they have.) EXO is from SM....one of the top 3 companies in Korea. And in the k pop world, a lot of fans believe that you like only one group and one group only (international fans don't see it that way.) It has caused a lot of fan wars..but its not just EXO and BTS, its all the groups... EXO is an amazing group...and this song and video are an oxymoron...the song (look up the lyrics) is about a relationship behind closed doors, "You can call me Monster" and I believe one other line talks about devouring her, or maybe its swallowing...I can't remember..but the video is actually about Ferguson and what happened there. Its what the guys felt about what happened...the police brutality and the state of anger and pain that Ferguson was in at the time...EXO has been around since 2013..so they have an extensive amount of songs..."Mama", "Overdose", "Call me Baby", "Growl" (which was consider by many as Korea's national anthem when it came out) "Ko Ko Bop", "The Eve", "Lotto" and most recently, "Tempo" and "Love Shot"....all of them are really good, there is a lot more, but start with these. They will help. If you guys really like the dancing...there is another group that is consider to be the most precise, as well as most extensive and one body, one mind kind of group...and that is Seventeen...their dancing is incredible...try "Don't want to Cry" or "Very Nice" or "Clap"...my two favorite from them are "Crazy in Love" (dance practice only) and "Heaven" a collab with another group called Nu'est W... I want to apologize for being long winded, but wanted to give you info about k pop that I wish I was given when I got into it so I understood coming in... Please look up those videos for EXO and Seventeen...you won't regret it...and maybe next time, we will get into the girl groups or more of the boy groups, like Pentagon, ATEEZ, SF9, Shinee, and Big Bang....there is so much for you still get into...
I love EXO! They have a lot of really good songs. My latest fave from them is Don’t Mess Up My Tempo. As for another group, I highly recommend BIGBANG. They’re the first k-pop group I listened to years ago and one of the inspirations for the BTS members. I’m sure you’ll like their rappers. Try their song Bang Bang Bang.

On other hand it’s being reported that Chen, one of main vocalists is the first korean member of EXO to make a solo debut (no worries) they are still a group; the members themselves are preparing for the next step in their careers, so when the older members have to enlist then come back after 2 yrs they have something to fall back on until the rest of the members return from military.
Kris had earned role in the 3rd XXX: Return of Xander Cage movie with Vin Diesel along with other roles before that. LuHan has also been in a few movies himself back in China. As far as Tao has been promoting allot of his own projects (I unfortunately haven’t heard much about Kris, Luhan, and Tao)!

EXO IS THE LEGEND OF THE KPOP
A few things u have to keep in mind as you get more and more into k pop...the Companies in Korea (all the companies) make sure they have dancers, strong vocalists, and at least 2 rappers per group, male or female...(example: BTS, R.M. and Jin are not the strongest dancers, at when they started they weren't, but R.M.'s rapping skills were beyond reproach. And well Jin was picked for his face, but he has worked his ass off so much that he is one of the strongest vocalists that they have.)
EXO is from SM....one of the top 3 companies in Korea. And in the k pop world, a lot of fans believe that you like only one group and one group only (international fans don't see it that way.) It has caused a lot of fan wars..but its not just EXO and BTS, its all the groups...
EXO is an amazing group...and this song and video are an oxymoron...the song (look up the lyrics) is about a relationship behind closed doors, "You can call me Monster" and I believe one other line talks about devouring her, or maybe its swallowing...I can't remember..but the video is actually about Ferguson and what happened there. Its what the guys felt about what happened...the police brutality and the state of anger and pain that Ferguson was in at the time...EXO has been around since 2013..so they have an extensive amount of songs..."Mama", "Overdose", "Call me Baby", "Growl" (which was consider by many as Korea's national anthem when it came out) "Ko Ko Bop", "The Eve", "Lotto" and most recently, "Tempo" and "Love Shot"....all of them are really good, there is a lot more, but start with these. They will help.
If you guys really like the dancing...there is another group that is consider to be the most precise, as well as most extensive and one body, one mind kind of group...and that is Seventeen...their dancing is incredible...try "Don't want to Cry" or "Very Nice" or "Clap"...my two favorite from them are "Crazy in Love" (dance practice only) and "Heaven" a collab with another group called Nu'est W...
I want to apologize for being long winded, but wanted to give you info about k pop that I wish I was given when I got into it so I understood coming in...
Please look up those videos for EXO and Seventeen...you won't regret it...and maybe next time, we will get into the girl groups or more of the boy groups, like Pentagon, ATEEZ, SF9, Shinee, and Big Bang....there is so much for you still get into...

As for another group, I highly recommend BIGBANG. They’re the first k-pop group I listened to years ago and one of the inspirations for the BTS members. I’m sure you’ll like their rappers. Try their song Bang Bang Bang.
