such a shame we lost dumitrescu, klinsman, and barmby at the end of the season. We played some great football that season and finished on 62 points after a points deduction and a managerial change. Could have done great things if we'd held on to those players.
Klinsmann was world class, was never going to stick around at a struggling club and same with Dumitrescu too. Great players wanna play with great players and unfortunately we didn’t have many, our defence was shocking that season. I agree if we hang onto these players and built a good team around them then we could of done great things.
What a team we had then!? Our front players were brilliant, I rate Andertons crossing ability way above Beckhams. And Klinnsman and sheringham were totally different gravy, always be two of my favourite forward players we've ever had. Could do with them now, both better than Richarlison any day. Great memories. Klinsmann was on another level that whole year. He was robbed of European Player of the Year 😢 I respected his agreeing to go to Bayern after Beckenbauer called him, that would have been hard to say no to. He went on to 2 fantastic years there, but I do wish Sugar wasn't such an ass and signed a strong defender, stopped insulting Klinsmann because he may have got Jürgen to stay. Imagine the following year with a stronger defense and the team already united to start the season? WOW.......maybe the title???? Oh what could have been 😢
