i am not aware on a method where you can not use a phone number except for one. You can create a gmail on a old device, for me i use my iPad (it has the skip option).

@@quickpointech Nope. I eventually got it to work by making hte account on an android phone, but after 3 accounts on the same phone it started asking for a phone number. I gave up :p
