McFarlane toys has the DC License now. They are less prone to QC issues and use stronger plastics.
They've been making Batman 66 figures so there is hope they might make a Christopher Reeve Superman at some point.

I just wanna say how much I enjoy and appreciate these rerelease/remasters for older videos! It's so cool to see the videos that got me into your channel in the first place. I'm also eagerly awaiting the rerelease of the Jango Fett review. I watched that so many times and always laughed the whole way through!
Thanks for all your videos, Dan, old and new! Happy new year!!

The ko nowadays is just as good and comes in the the exact packaging. So if you're not bothered then the ko is a worthy option.

I bought this figure knowing of the fragility issue, and when I got it, put in one pose and left it there. The figure's joint pins are especially prone to shearing.
It's a GREAT sculpt, and looks fantastic, but I cannot bear the heartbreak if I were to ever snap a limb on it.

If Neca had some sort of basic quality control this could have been a cool figure

Never did get this one but have Ledger Joker in storage currently. He's held up but I'd be lying if I say I wasn't worried his legs will snap off someday. It's fun to look back at how far Neca has come from. The sculpt and paint have always been there, but threading the needle on plastic playability and durability has been a journey. Finding one that can hold all that crisp detail and paint that is still durable enough to pose around while keeping it affordable. Nowadays hinge paint flaking is almost nonexistent and I can't think of the last time I took a hair dryer to a new Neca toy.

I accidentally got the knockoff. I really hope this gets a rerelease. This Superman is THE Superman for so many. If they can rerelease the turtles, then Superman DEFINITELY deserves another chance.

License rights are long expired, we will likely never see it again!

Missed this one. I always thought they could do better. I did hold one in Toys R Us. I set it down. Silly me.

This figure is definitely one of the shining pieces of my (enormous) Superman collection. I absolutely left this one in the box, the packaging looks cool, but mostly I am taking zero chances on this one breaking, he is staying in his plastic prison ala the Phantom Zone. Sometimes that's what we gotta do as collectors to protect our precious toys, even from themselves.

It's wild that neca bootlegs have just as good joints as actual neca's...

So..current NECA figures don’t break so easily now right?
I don’t buy em because of the poor QC of the past.

I still always heat up my NECA figures with a hair dryer before I move any of the joints, especially the TMNT cartoon line, they're still fragile/brittle in parts sadly. I do think they've gotten better then they used to be though, but unfortunately the problem is still there, as is the paint chipping/flaking off

They never really broke easily, but no, the last decade or more has seen some really excellent figures and quality. The fact that they've started doing face printing tech has really upped things as well.

Neca still has QC issues. I just bought a Phantom and his legs are backwards from the knees down. Got a refund and ordered another one. I hope the next one is good.

      Apparently NECA stands for:
      Needs-Extra-Care-Always ;)
I like the sculpts & paint work on many of their products, will have to use caution..not for kids I suppose.
