5/19/17: Obesity and Diabetes: Science Linking Mechanisms with Therapeutics

Robert H. Eckel, MD, presents a talk about research advances in diabetes and obesity that hold promise for new therapeutic approaches. Dr. Eckel is Professor of Cardiology in the Department of Medicine at the University of Colorado, and directs the Lipid Clinic at the University of Colorado Hospital. An alumnus of the UW-Madison Internal Medicine Residency Program, Dr. Eckhel’s research interests are focused on the relationship between nutrition, insulin action, energy balance and body weight regulation with experiments carried out in both humans and mice. The title of his May 19, 2017 Grand Rounds talk is "Obesity and Diabetes: Science Linking Mechanisms with Therapeutics."
