Appreciate your channel. I was wondering if you might do a video some time to show how you tie on your baits? I have seen pieces here and there where you are spinning the bait on the line during the tying process. I would really like to see the whole thing and what knot or knots you like to use. Thanks.

I watch you more than any other show on you tube. I am 73 years old. I wish I could of had a yak ,when I was younger, but I had a 10 foot small boat. I drug it all over Arkansas into any small or large lake I could go to. Thanks for you advise to all younger and older fisherman. My best bait is a Berkley Choppo in the Spring.

Solid stuff Greg, I always admire your ability to make changes on the fly and not be scared to deviate from your original plan. I can so easily get caught up in sticking to a plan even if the fish are proving to me it is not working. You have a good feel for when to abandon one thought process and move onto the next! Tough day for sure. Still caught a few though!

Super clear water, only partial clouds, calm winds, (perhaps post front?)... very tough conditions. Downsize lures and especially line size... and, why ping away while fishing shallow/sight fishing? Save some battery. Turn the Raymarine off. I dig your videos. Good insight on how you rig and how you approach your fishing overall.

You weren't kidding when you said it was tough! We just finished a tournament yesterday. All the bass caught were on dropshots with worms. Some were males on beds, but the big females haven't moved up yet. The water isn't quite warm enough - perhaps in a week it'll be ideal. I'm glad your day wasn't a total skunk 😊

Split shot a smaller profile plastic is a secret we use in Southern California that has been forgotten in the last 20 yrs. Especially pre spawn and post. I went to uc davis. We would skateboard the full pipe. And I used to crush below the dam with split shorting for trout bass and catfish. We called it stitching back in high school

The one style of fishing I notice Greg doesn't use is a Texas rigged watermelon strike king rage tail senko, the bass pro/cabelas cant keep those stocked in my area. Or a straight black Gary Yamamoto senko. I catch 90% of my bass on that single bait, it's nuts. I'd love to watch him fish that and see how he does.

Don't really see you fish baits off the bottom too often. Maybe give it a try when the bite is so weird like that day. Big presentations with a jig, or smaller with a craw-type plastic. Or even get more subtle with a ned rig. And again, congrats on the top 10!!! I legit teared up!!

Don't know if I've ever seen you use one or not but chatterbaits have been really working for me. I'm from the northeast US so I know its a bit different but still a good big blade chatter you can roll real slow and still get a bunch of action. I know you're a literal pro fisherman and I'm simply an amateur at best but just sharing whats been working for me. I caught my pb smallie this past week on a zman big blade chatterbait, not the biggest ever but still a good at least 4lbs.

Though I’m newer to bass fishing, from what I’ve read this seems like post frontal conditions. Just lethargic and not wanting to really feed because of the major shift in barometric pressure.

That lake killed me more than I like to admit, but once I came to terms with those fish like Aaron’s Morning Dawn worms year around I put more fish in the boat. But being hardheaded and wanting to go to natural colors when things got tough made it that much better when I tried it as a late innings attempt to salvage a day. Now it’s every trip on the deck.

I use thermoclines, oxygen meter, main lake currents, and locate deep sunken islands that come up penetrate them, and troll there. Huge bass that few target. Maybe give it a try. Good luck. open to ridicule here, just a curious thought....when i was young my neighbor use to take me out on the river fishing. we wore a life jacket while moving at high speeds from one spot to another. however once we got there we always took them off and in fact when you watch the guys on tv in tournaments they do the same. so how come when fishing lakes or very very slow current, kayak fishermen always have these big padded pfd's on? They would have to be cumbersome and annoying to make all those casts. I understand being extra safe and maybe easier to fall off a kayak but i don't know just seems over kill for some situations. i feel like kayaks are a pretty safe vessel especially given the size of them in width these days. i go out on the river now in the summer and jump right off my (non) fishing kayak and swim around, go sit on the rocks etc. is it a law in some places to always have one on or something?
