Woodpecker should be doing these tours more often. As a w/w we sometimes gripe about the price of Woodpecker tools, but it is obvious they have spent a great deal of money to put out their products. I have so many of their tools - some I do not need - and all of them are top notch and work flawlessly. You cannot say that about many other brands. Love Blue Spruce tools also.
I had the same opportunity for a personal tour by Rich. He is most gracious, completely genuine and an dedicated genius. I only cry once when I spend money at Woodpeckers.
Great tour, by a guy who is so real about his love for woodworking and his mission to produce as close to absolutely accurate tools as possible. Thank you, Tom & Richard.
This was an AWESOME interview! It really opened my eyes to see why Woodpeckers is so expensive... and worthy of every penny. Now I gotta join another mail list... LoL 😊
I have a great appreciation for Woodpeckers tools and buy them when I can. Very few things these days are American made and I don’t mind paying a premium knowing I’m supporting a local business. It doesn’t hurt they make incredibly accurate tools either.
Woodpackers are go! Great stuff, never really knew much about this company other than seeing their ads in the magazines. Mr. Hummel is humble, professional, passionate - all the qualities that you want to see behind such endeavor. Even though these tools are e x p e n s i v e, I do know where the next square is coming from...
The Blue Spruce chisels are no joke. Well worth the money. Not only are the backs flatter than you could ever possibly get them yourself, the actual geometry of the blades is exceptional. By far the best chisels on the market IMHO, but I admit I’m slightly nervous to screw up the backs when I sharpen them
Thanks for a great video! I have purchased Woodpecker products in the past and love them. I have complained about their price on some tools never realizing what goes into manufacturing their tools! What an attention to precision detail and finish!
That was an awesome tour! You have to love their pursuit of perfection. I’m surprised the video doesn’t have more views. It’s probably the stupid TH-cam algo.
I've invested quite a bit in Woodpeckers tools. Some are (for me) more useful than others. None of them are less than excellent. I'm very happy with their products. Maybe time to consider some Blue Spruce tools too!
It seems a wonder that previous generations of woodworkers were actually able to make anything square and true since they didn’t have the stress relived, mirror shine tools available to some now.
Did not know that Blue Spruce and Woodpecker are one and the same company..will now buy more Blue Spruce products only problem is it takes Blue Spruce for ever to fill and ship orders. Brought marking knives and it took 6 months for delivery
Thanks Dan. He did mention they did have supply issues the last year or so but that they are now at a place where production can better meet demand. Thanks for watching!👍
Every h8ter who whines about the price of Woodpeckers' tools should watch this video and contemplate the amount of money invested in machinery, technology, facilities, and the skilled people who design, make, and test the products. The h8ters want high quality for ultra-low prices, but they're not living in the real world.
Yeah, if I did I can imagine he’d say the only way would be to lower his costs somehow…meaning less quality of materials and the end product. It’s like asking Lie Nielsen to lower the prices on their tools. Some things are just better and the price reflects it. 👍 Thanks for watching!
@@rossanctuary5238 maybe, but given what I saw on the tour, a lot of expense has gone into getting set up for making the tools, and he’s not outsourcing anything to China like so many similar companies these days.
This video helped me understand why their tools are so expensive, why the ones I own work so well, and why I will continue to buy their products.
That’s a great first hand testimony to their excellence, thanks for watching Doug! 👍

Perfect description of him David, I couldn’t have said it better!
Thanks for watching 👍
I recently bought my first woodpecker tools. It’s hard to describe why I like them but I’m buying more 👍
Great tour, by a guy who is so real about his love for woodworking and his mission to produce as close to absolutely accurate tools as possible. Thank you, Tom & Richard.
Thank you for taking us on that tour! That was really enjoyable!
This Video brings Appreciation to the thought and care you get, and it will be definitely a part of my future accurate work achievements.

heck yeah, love woodpeckers tools, cant get enough of them...love the video
A millionth of an inch ! Talk about precision !
Thanks Tom and Kris for the behind the scene tour at Woodpecker and Blue Spruce very interesting.
What a great tour. Didn't know Woodpeckers owned Blue Sprouse, I have lots of both, and love them all.
Yes, such great tools, thanks for watching! 👍
I have many of the wood peckers and some Blue Spruce tools. thanks for the tour
Thanks Brian, it sure left me with a greater appreciation for the amount of precise and careful work that goes into making them! 👍😎
Great video Tom. Thanks for sharing. It was also nice to meet you in person in Rochester last week. I enjoyed it!
Thanks Gary, same here, great to meet you! 👍😎

It was my first time seeing how mirror polished they prepped the backs, the first I’ve ever seen like that! 👍😎
Enjoyed the tour Tom. Great idea!
Great tour! I use the 6-inch combination square all the time. It's my go-to and in my shop apron or on the bench next to me.
Thanks for a great video! I have purchased Woodpecker products in the past and love them. I have complained about their price on some tools never realizing what goes into manufacturing their tools! What an attention to precision detail and finish!
That was a great tour Tom. I love Woodpeckers' stuff.

Thanks! And yes, who knows when it comes to the almighty algorithm 😎
Great Tour! Very informative!
Thanks Dennis! 👍

Yes, I have to have one of those mallets and try the chisels. The mirror polish on the backs was amazing! 👍😎
Production matches up with demand? Its taken me two years to acquire 4 woodpeckers tools here in Canada. Truth be told. They're worth the wait.
We’ll said, I think they are turning them around much faster these days 👍
not sure how i ended up on this video, but i'm pretty sure you just cost me a lot of money now that I've heard their processes more... very nice.
😂😂
Impressive!
What a great video and tour. I have a wall of thier tools and love them. Love that it is a USA Company!!!!!!!
Holy crap!!!!
I’m a disabled Vet living on a very fixed, I love your tools. I just can’t afford most of them.
He certainly seemed like an easy person to interview, but, nonetheless, just to say it - you did a good job interviewing.
It seems a wonder that previous generations of woodworkers were actually able to make anything square and true since they didn’t have the stress relived, mirror shine tools available to some now.
It's so obvious, this owner doesn't sit behind his desk to run the company. Impressive.
Incredible! Very interesting.

Hah, I saw a US General service cart in my favorite color at 20:39.
I looked and did not see or know what that was…🤔
I’ve heard Blue Spruce referred to as “tool porn”. That’s what Matt Estlea says. Those tools are amazing.
I hadn’t heard that but they did remind me of the Bridge City line of tools, so nice!
Very interested in the slab flattening mill how about a discount code for the viewers of Epic Woodworking?
Huge investment in engineering and technology. That's why these tools are so expensive.
I couldn’t afford the cover charge to get in the building let alone buy any of it.
Yeah, they are nice to look at just the same 😎

Well if you ever wondered why it's expensive you know now
Yes, machinery to a scale and detail I never imagined 👍
Should of asked to lower the prices on his tools

@@EpicWoodworking can't argue with that.
Great tools.......but they cost a fortune!
