@@JU0DAS technically the E46 M3 had a street production V8 called the E46 M3 GTR. Here are the Street Version Specs:
• Max. output: 258 kW (350 hp)
• Max. torque: 365 Nm at 5,000 rpm (269 ft-lb)
• Displacement: 3,997 cm3
• 4.0 V8 P60B40 engine ( this is not a normal S engine) detuned from the race car of 460 hp, but we all know what a good tune could do.
• Curb weight: 1,350 kg (2976 pounds)
• no air conditioning, no radio, and no rear seats.
• Only 10 cars produced
The E92 M3 S65 was the first mass produced M3 V8. The GTR in 2002 retailed for $229,000. I have no clue what it would be worth today.

You can hear the E90 and E92 V8 and then immediately the old man's fart sound of the F80.
That V8 is brutal...
This is why I wish the E46 had the GTR available. The V8 here sounds amazing. Don't get me wrong I love my S54, but this V8 sounds so aggressive. Something about a V8 and the right exhaust it just works.
That's what I think as well, my dream build is a E46 with a s65 swap, love the E46 shape but don't like the raspy exhaust sound on the s54 and I hate the E90 shape but love the engine 😂😂

Really like the sound of the e90 but I think the best looking of them all is the e92. What a cracking video. My idea of a brilliant day out that just cruising about in some high powered BMWs
This video really brings home how much better the S65 sounds than these newer cars. F8x sounded like a fart can civic in comparison. I’m so happy that I chose this platform; I’m on my second one now, I first had an e92 and now I’m blessed to own a pretty pristine e90 that I can’t imagine ever selling.

Imo…It’s the best sounding bmw production engine made.
It made me sad when they went to boosted 6cyls in the next generation.
It seems to be the normal with most car manufacturers lately.
They are steadily moving away from N/A engines for smaller boosted engines.
This engine will never have to worry about turbo rebuilds when it hits 100k miles though.
You really realize how bad the F series m3/m4 sound when you watch this video
