I was a protestant minister for 40 yrs and gave it up to become Catholic. I converted July 14th 2024 as it was near the feast of Our Lady of Carmel. I was also enrolled in the brown scapular. I've been praying and searching how I can live my commitment. After much searching I found your videos. They are extremely helpful in every way. I will view the complete series. Thank you. God bless your ministry. 😊🙏
Thank you for this series of videos on 3rd Order formation. I am very grateful because I am not able to begin formation until covid restrictions are lifted, so your videos are very helpful. God bless.

Hello! These formation videos are for the Third Order Carmelites of the Ancient Observance. OCDS is the third order for the Discalced Carmelites. I’m so happy you found the videos informative. The Formation Books are available from the gift store at the National Shrine of Our Lady of Mount Carmel. Here is the link www.ourladyofmtcarmelshrine.com/gift-store Hope you’re going to pursue deepening your prayer life through Carmelite Spirituality!!!
The difference between the two orders is the origin of the Discalced Carmelites or rather they were founded in the 1500s after the reform introduced by Saint Teresa of Avila and Saint John of the Cross. The Carmelite Spirituality is the same. There is a tendency to believe that the Discalced order is more purely focused on contemplative lifestyle whereas our friars and religious are a bit more active in universities and teaching, etc.
Thank you I’m so grateful that I found your teachings….. you are like a companion on my return back to our Lord✝️🙏
