Good thing, gotta test this sucker out. Will miss having the prospector and vulture for a bit and not having those game loops for a bit but it's chill getting back up to that point.
Whether a player cares about a full wipe depends on how they play...time invested and goals. Why should I grind for 1+ months to earn an 890 only to have everything taken away? Over and over. If it's a coding data base issue sure, but not just for "balancing the economy" or some such nonsense. Last wipe they jacked the 890 price 102% (32m > 65m), that's understandable "balancing" not taking players hard earned things away. If someone made money from a bug, fix it and move on...plenty of new players will give valid economic feedback. I've lost more money on bugs than I ever gained. Sure, they'd rather sell ships for IRL $$$, but wipes remove all motivation or desire to earn aUEC.
Idk how anyone can or should be concerned, game is in alpha and is going to need significant testing of the economy prior to a 1.0 release so that it feels right.
I like it and have been looking forward to it for a while, but I definitely hope that quickly make some changes to the economy after they do it. Things are going to be incredibly difficult for new players especially, which is always a big concern of mine because without new players your game doesn't continue to grow.
My aUEC got wiped somewhere along the way regardless. I know there’s always a bit of a wipe but I went from 1.2 million to 20k. Unless there was a full blown wipe that I didn’t know about?
I am all for the wipe and rework. Though I have zero confidence that CIG will make it to 4.0 anytime soon much less 1.0. I give them another 10 years and 700mil before it gets done!
What's up with the game as it is now? Tried it after 6 months or so and goood damn. NewCabbage spaceport gets me 8-12FPS, though it gets better when getting to the elevator and moving to the hangar, but damn. Also everything is super slow. Like door opening and other interactions. Compared to 6months ago it's actually pretty unplayable imho 😢
Chris Roberts is finally leaving studio? That is only wipe I want. To let that handbrake leave development. If he stayed on Freelancer, without Microsoft kicking him out, we would be still waiting for Freelancer.
I don't mind the wipe, but this idea of the economy makes me laugh and I will tell you why. What seems to follow virtually every single wipe is some sort of exploit that results in a bazillion in AUEC coming out in game, and typically this falls into the hands of those who have the ability to gang together and go all in on the exploit. The result is that tons of AUEC is on the grey market - everywhere. You can buy millions of AUEC. This is why you have people popping up all day long and giving away millions to people begging for AUEC in global chat. Now this can be stopped immediately by CIG but they choose not to. Why that is I am not sure, but that is the way that it is. I often wonder about where all this AUEC comes from. Is it from gangs that lock down certain places where money can be had for the purpose of getting it to the grey market? (The money printing terminal?) Seems to be rather organized. In any event, until all of this is plugged, this is not a simulation of what the real economy is going to look like. Further, with the end game now described by CIG, it seems we have two divergent paths taking place. One is this economy that is supposed to be AI based basically NPC moving around doing what they do, and the other is by players. As we are now adding the dimension of players trading with players, selling crafted items which will be better then what is obtainable in stores, players flying around in Banu MM, with store fronts, even players crafting ships, it seems to be that the player driven economy is going to become the important economy and it is going to morph in ways not even foreseen by CIG. The important part of the game is going to be all about PVP, and the PVE will be left behind or used only as a mean to obtain UEC but of little importance to people who will join orgs to participate in all that building, land grabbing, and moving to new solar systems in massive fleets. That economy is going to be about feeding the Org so the Org can build build build and build more. And that economy will definitely fall to pieces if UEC is on the grey market. It will have to be locked down tight as a drum. I speak on behalf of no particular PVE or PVP interest. I am not in an Org, yet recognize the need to be in one when the game becomes a reality.
I dont give a damn about the wipe.. so far 4.0 is a COMPLETE MESS.. Everything is broken .. Framerates are abysmally low.. Crashes.. bugs..gates not working.. Server meshing making 0 difference.. We have WAY bigger problems..
@@RED--01 then you have to been watching the latest builds. There still working on server meshing and it's what's stopping most of the gameplay coming atm as that is what's need for more gameplay
Oh so since you have a circle that you play with within the game you think you and your pals deserve to get to keep your stuff and the rest of us can just suck it up and accept losing our gear? No, a fresh start should mean a fresh start for everyone, period.
I don’t have a group that I play with. I’m trying to build a org so that I can. If you’d like to join just click on the discord link in the description

Looking forward to the wipe. I have my own goals to work to before the wipe. But excited for 4.0 and the wipe. We’ll see how the new refactoring goes
I'm all for a wipe, get all that duped aUEC out of the economy. SC updates have been amazing lately, speaking of which, back to it!

I agree I hope they collect the data they need and make corrections.
