yeah this is just a sticky spot for hoyo. they obviously want money, but no matter what, with this conflicting fan base, people will be angry. i think they went the lightskin route because of how extreme the cn fan base is
Another one I've seen is "go f2p" as is most of ya'll weren't doing that already. At the end of the day, the people that complain about it will still go back to playing the game. It hits a bit harder when you see that NPCs, especially enemies, have a larger range of diversity. In Sumeru we have varying skin tones AND hair styles that include locs and cornrows. But they’re all aggressive brutes minus a few “good ones” (Cyno, the one girl at the academia who’s name I can’t remember, Candace, and Dehya) that have to go above and beyond to prove it

i agree. It's so disappointing to see people of my skin tone and darker only being brutes and enemies to attack and defeat. Not allies or even main characters to be "the good guys"
Im literally Mexican and my mom is from Mexico and i showed her the Natlan's trailer and she said she was glad to see that they are inspired by the culture of where our family comes from I don't understand the skin color thing considering im Mexican and my dad and mom families come from both mayan and Aztec descent and we aren't that dark like my skin color is literally the same as maulani and the other characters for natlans that people are saying are too light like not everyone in Mexico is that dark like sure some people are but not everyone is super dark skinned if you don't believe me go and see for yourself like people don't look for evidence before they do anything it saddens me what is happening (any hate on my comment will be ignored since I'm only stating my opinion and my perspective)
Sure that's true but it's not just Mexican culture so sure it's mostly south american cultures but the problem is that there are no dark characters they don't all need dark skin but having one or two would be nice
I get what ur saying but thats not the problem, the problem is that there isnt much variation of characters with different skin tones from Natlan that are out yet. They are just saying that itd be nice to have more variation of characters with different skin colors.
yes skin tones vary in these ethnic groups but the issue is there are NO dark skinned playable characters at ALL (do not even try to bring kaeya or xinyan they are both still very light skinned) how are you gonna take inspiration from nigeria country thats majority black and darker skinned but have no character that is actually dark skinned? or borrow inspiration from brazil the country with the largest black diaspora outside africa but not have a character with curly hair or dark skin? nobody is saying ALL the natlan characters have to be a certain skin tone but its insane to take inspiration from cultures so diverse in skin color and features and them not actually represent that
That last part "everything about your culture is beautiful except you" hits so hard. I still don't understand why they can't just do darker skin when they can have the funds for it (and yes, I know about the xenophobia and racism of some CH people, it's kinda hard to not know if you live in SEA countries) other game developers did it so why can't they? (not a religious person just a history major lol) it's the same energy as jesus being portrayed as white person, when the entire bible takes place in mostly desert areas where people are darker skinned.
The fact that it might be based on the fact that some people in China are racist is wild to me Like imagine if American media stopped having black people because there’s some states with a lot of racists. Not to excuse their racism, but it’s definitely a minority of people.
I think its mainly hoyoverse, other games with global audiences despite the countrys rooted racism still include diffrent skin tones for all types of players. Biggest example i could think of is love nikki which is a chinese dress up game
Fr I think mualani with a dark tan would be so cool Kachina with that skin tone shown in the video is so pretty That one lion girl would look so stunning with dark skin It’s sad to see the lack of representation
There’s such a discrepancy between the skin tone and color palette that I refuse to believe the initial intention was for the characters to be light skinned. There has to be something going on between the designers and the higher ups because it just doesn’t make sense from an artistic perspective. Very long edit so read it or cry about it: since several people are still disagreeing and being absolute bootlickers, let me spell it out for you word for word and make it longer than it needs to be because you guys can’t take the dамn hint. You cannot take inspiration from a real life culture but completely exclude the people, who are the foundation of it. A culture is nothing without its people and I guarantee you that the vast majority of South Africans/Aztecs are NOT pasty white. This is extremely disrespectful and unprofessional of miHoYo. Sumeru was easier to pass off because Middle Eastern populations ARE generally lighter/medium skinned (Nilou-Iran, Cyno-Egypt, Tighnari/Layla-Arab, etc. you’d be surprised but they are more medium than dark because people frequently wear robes to protect from the sun) but even then there was brief controversy over skin tone and even Candace upon her release because the devs named her the anglicized version of the original name, Kandake. But there is no excuse for predominantly dark skinned populations from South Africa/the Aztec. Even Chinese players are boycotting Genshin and demanding diversity. So being a Chinese company is no excuse for MiHoYo to be whitewashing culture inspired characters to fit their racism. Look at Iansan, Xinyan, look at the enemies in Sumeru, concept art, they are all proof that Genshin is perfectly capable (both physically and financially) of designing and rendering characters who are dark skinned. There is no excuse for this.
Yeah like I saw a version where they have more melanin and it actually looks good and fits their designs better. More and more I describe to the theory that they wanted to add dark characters but were stopped or something. Edit: This is the most likes I've ever gotten on a comment. it’s bad enough that they’re not representing darker skin tones… but to name characters after literal DEITIES and white wash them?? eventually players will start associating those names with genshin characters rather than the gods behind the name and it’s almost like erasing the cultures used for hoyoverse’s “inspiration”

I may seem ignorant, but I have no intention of boycotting this game. I would understand if Hoyoverse whitewashed some historical figure and players didn't like it. Moreover, there are slightly darker characters in the trailer (a girl at the beginning and later a little girl). Or maybe it's because I live in a country that has never colonized or treated people of different skin colors badly. At the end of the day, it's just a video game with a fictional world. And when it comes to culture, it can be processed creatively. In God of War Ragnarök Angrboda has black skin, although the game is based on Norse mythology, this change did not bother me. The anime Record of Ragnarök retold the story of Adam and Eve expulsion from paradise and it didn't bother me either.Don't Americans do the same thing, only in a much more serious way? Do you remember repainting Cleopatra (a historical figure)?
I also noticed that hoyoverse had a horrible habit of making almost all of the enemies and bad characters dark skinned in the sumeru storylines. At one point i was actually able to predict that the characters i had just ran into would secretly be evil because of the fact that they had darker skin, and i ended up being right :(
@@NootNoot127 As with everything accusation without context will only lead to misunderstanding just like the accusation that the traveler is g**ocide crazy person
tbh the Eremites are all brown because they live under the scorching sun of the desert. Dehya doesn't spend as much time under the sun, apparently and Candace is the darkest playable sumeru character because she's under the sun all day Also most characters are still based on a previous game so obviously the skin color will be brought along
But apparently you don’t mind the fact the ‘totally not Russians’ are one of the main antagonistic factions for most of the game. Perfectly fine to always portray the Eastern Europeans as evil and slaughter them by the hundred but black people? Nah black people are incapable of being evil, should never be the enemy even if the game takes place in a dessert.
As a mexican, I'm not offended but disappointed. In the latino community I've seen three main arguments justifying this, and I don't agree with any of them. 1. "Not all latinos are brown". Which is true however NOT ALL LATINOS ARE WHITE AS PAPER EITHER. It's a 50/50 (more like a 80/20 in favor of the dark skin but I'll be generous) but every character is super pale. 2. "It's the beauty standard. A brown/black character wouldn't be attractive". This is just pure bs. Nesa from Pokemon, Karin from Blue Archive, Ramlethal from Xrd, Claude and Timerra from Fire Emblem, etc. All of them are super attractive if you ask me. 3. "Hoyo is a chinese company so being racist is normal for them". I think it's more racist to think that every chinese person is racist lol *Since some people can't read: I'm talking about the arguments I often see and why I don't agree with them, not about if hoyo is doing wrong or not. We all know hoyo didn't think too much about it, they did what they did because they can do whatever they want and it will still sell
I totally agree with ya, its odd seeing hoyo not making more dark skinned "playable" characters when the whole point of genshin was diverse culture in the game. And many other gacha games having much darker skinned characters. Really disappointing indeed...
But the issue with the races you said is none of them were created by china. Your argument isn't representative of the creators. You should find a mihoyo or chinese dark skinned popular character. Not a japanese or korean made one.
@@furyberserk my point is that black/brown characters can be attractive but fine, Reverse 1999 Centurion, she is brown, attractive, by a chinese company and also happens to be a mexa character (insert El Jarabe Tapatío here 🇲🇽)

A cn player talking about this subject put it very well, “Conversely, everyone would likely not tolerate a work that prides itself on Chinese elements being filled with characters who have dark skin and thick lips or blonde hair and blue eyes.” Even the player base that people assume “wouldn’t want characters of color” want Natlan characters to represent the culture they were inspired by. There is harm in saying you want to show all sorts of different cultures from the real world in your game and then doing the exact opposite of that.

After all it's a Cn game mostly targeting the Cn market, and the beauty standards there are mostly pale skin. They sell characters to make money, so they'll lean into whatever designs bring them more.
Its not just because of "natlans trailer". This is something that has been an issue for ages across ALL HYV games. Natlans trailer is the straw that has broken the camels back. We had this issue in genshin since Sumeru
In fact, in the Sumeru desert we had some darker-skinned characters (Cyno, Candace, Dehya, Sethos for example, who are descendants from the desert), while the other part of the region is rainforests, and in fact, it isn’t common for people from there to have darker skin. The issue with it is that we don’t have that much characters from the desert and we should’ve gotten more, but with other characters (not only in the rest of Sumeru, but in other regions as well) their white skin color is actually based on real history. Like, there almost weren’t any darker-skinned people in Germany, China or Japan at the medieval times. So the complaints about Natlan characters are reasonable, but about other regions - no, they are not (except complaining about a lack of characters from Sumeru desert)

Some people have resorted to calling US the racists for wanting proper representation after they literally take our deities, gods and historical figure’s names and our cultures for their game while leaving our appearances out the picture. Some people are saying “they don’t have to be accurate it’s their own vision of the game” while the literal mob npcs do have ethnic features such as dreads and locs while being from the same region. Literal proof that their “vision” does include what we wanted to see more of, but will never be on playable characters. It’s so obvious that they’re doing this because of colourism and even some racism, but for some reason us pointing that out always results in “it’s just a game/it’s a fantasy game” as if fiction has never affected reality before/ as if fiction doesn’t reflect reality. The game was made by real people, so regardless of it being a game those individuals still chose to be disrespectful towards us and keep us out, insinuating that we don’t belong in their game.

Let's focus on the *Humanoid* ones: *-* There are 12 kinds of Fatui enemies, *9 of which* are light-skinned; *-* There are 11 kinds of Treasure Hoarder enemies, *ALL of which* are light-skinned; *-* There are 12 kinds of Eremite enemies, *5 of which* are light-skinned; *-* And there are 5 Weekly Bosses who have a Humanoid form, *ALL of which are light-skinned.* *Have you seen anyone complain about that?* As per the leaked info we have thus far on Natlan, while some enemies have been shown to possess some physical attributes drawn from the same culture Natlan was inspired from, there has also been many NPCs from different cities/tribes possessing those attributes. Let's not pretend Hoyoverse is only painting such characters as Bad/Negative and using them as enemies. That would be unwise.
I’m torn on this issue, because the same thing happened in Sumeru, but contrary to what we (middle and south easterners) expressed. For Sumeru, the issue was that many people wanted the stereotypical ‘Ayayayayayaa’ turban and hijab wearing, camel riding, stereotypical ‘Arab’ and we don’t all look like that. We’re not all dark skinned. A lot of us appreciated more focus on the culture (arts, scholarly academics, food, etc) than depicting the stereotypes that made people comfortable in their virtue signaling. With Natlan though, I do feel the skin tones could be more representative. The peoples of South America and the islands do also vary in skin tone, but it feels obtuse to paint them all white. At the same time, it’s a pixelated game in a fantasy world and like, can we put this much effort into real life activism for the peoples everyone’s harping on about here…?
It being a game doesn't excuse anything talking about this is issue talking about real issues because the problem here is COLORISM and Whitewashing of real poc people and dietys which is a real world issue. If they didn't want to add people with darker skin then why base the areas in game off areas that are known for having people with darker skin tones. No one would be this upset or calling hoyoverse out if they didn't start playing with others culture and religions. If they didn't want to include people with darker skin they shouldn't have included their culture.
Yeah, to be honest. It's just a game that people gets worked up on, while I understand the issue, a game is a game, a fantasy one at that. Is it supposed to have effort into representing the people and not just it's culture? Or have their own cultures that are based/inspired on irl culture and have it's own people? I may be wrong on that, although I do think that protesting over a game is.. Childish? To say the least, it's a game, not irl.
@@NovaAndStaryes. There should be effort into it if they decide to take parts of people's cultures. People are sick of having their cultures used instead of represented, and that's what this is an example of. Especially so when without the people, the culture would die. The people are just as important, if not moreso than what they're deciding to use in their game, especially since they're monetizing off of it.
@@NovaAndStar I think you guys are focusing way too much on the representation aspect and not enough on the fact that hoyoverse whitewashed multiple real deitys. They based these characters off of real gods this like taking Zues or Jesus and suddenly making them black. They did not have to base these areas off of real culturesthey did not have to base these characters off of real gods. they could've easily just made up areas or based them off their own culture but they chose to this route. the people are the most important part of culture because at the end of the day it simply would not exist without them so if you're not representing the people you aren't representing the culture.
“Oh it’s because there a asian company” when literally there’s so many Asian companies that do have black characters that are popular and not only black characters but so much more 😭
I’m Chinese (my entire family is) and I think they’re representing Chinese just fine. I showed a few Liyue Genshin characters to my mother, who was born in China and has all her relatives Chinese, and she says the game did a very good job at representing Chinese cultures. Some Chinese families have different opinions but I think they at least did Liyue right.
Im just gonna call it. The moment Natlan releases, people are gonna spend and get the characters and slowly stop caring about this "controversy" because hyv didn't listen
That will happen but it *can* just be a bias btw. Things will always inevitably calm down because the people who are pissed leave and so it can *seem* like it just blew over and no one ever actually cared enough to do anything about it, when... they did what people say you need to do it and just stopped playing and talking about the game. This can seem even more like the case because content creators and pretty much every other *visible* player will NOT leave the game even if they criticise because... Duh, it's their jobs. That doesn't mean they '"shill"', just that it's not so casual a thing to just leave and also often they can do more by staying and using their visibility to be critical when appropriate.
@@BaileyZKbut again it just shows people don't care enough and this virtue signalling is pointless. @@UndeadAlv Well, some points to get across your comment. 1.- While indeed most mexicans are spanish descendants not all of us are, just in Mexico there are at least 6 indigenous communities of native americans that make special distinctions on people from pure blood and spaniard mixed, including Totonacas, Mayans, Tarahumaras, Yaquis, Tehuimas, Papagos, among others, so there are, indeed, pure blooded native americans in Mexico, and a whole lot more than in the US. You have to understand that the Spanish conquest and the British conquest were a whole lot different, Spaniards stategy was to blend their culture with the locals, they subjugate them by imposing their belief system and their religion, they destroyed ancient texts and architecture but never messed with the local communities, unlike the British, who came to the continent and started going ballistic on everything and everyone that was different, Spanish conquest's objective was to "civilize the savages by faith" that's why there are countless records of academic texts on subjects such as Latin, art and religion in native languages aimed to "educate" the locals, the british just wanted the land so they erradicated everything on their way to settle themselves, so No, we are not all "descendants from spaniards" 2.- The fact that most people are indeed descendants from spaniards doesn't change the fact that Americans do complaint about everything on behalf of everyone else because they tend to live in their own bubble and think everyone has the same views as they do and, thus, have to be offended by the same things, like when they tried to cancel Speedy González 3.- We, as latin americans are not fixated on representation, outside the US communities, people who live in Latin America dont ask for it or care tbh, BUT we do care that, when we are represented at leats do it in a faithful and respectful way, like the thing with Primos from Disney Channel, no one asked for it but we reacted because it is an offensive representation of latin americans

This is the same thing that happened during Sumeru. Yes, Natlan was based off of African, Mexican, and Brazilian culture (and the other parts of South America), so yes, they do need more darker skin toned characters for sure. Im half Brazilian, and the thing is there are white Brazilians (due to when the Portuguese took over Brazil around the same time North America was taken by the English and Irish) however there are not that many in comparison to darker skin toned people, fun fact I'm even in Brazil right as we speak and one of my uncles is white. The Spanish took over Mexico, Chile, Argentina, Honduras, etc as well and they were also white, but again they do need more darker skined characters
@@Radio-97 calling AC a historically accurate game is actually schizophrenic talk. if you wanna be consistent with your arguments youre wrong in both regards as genshin made this with the purpose of representing brown people but somehow forget to include the brown people in their own culture, whereas AC used a beloved legend that hs had multiple comics, mangas, and an anime. the reason i point out that its only about hating brown people is because of the hypocrisy i just pointed out. youre totally fine with inaccuracy if it means that you get to forget that minorities exist.
As a white looking latino person, I am disgusted by the nataln characters. Stop using the “not all Latin American pll have darker skin” comments!! Natlan’s characters don’t look like my friends, or like the people I see on street every day, it’s a reminder of the cultural appropriation and the massive dehumanization we suffer outside our countries.
The day you understand that the game is inspired by cultures but is not a 1:1 copy of real life, you will stop crying about everything. The Japanese have black hair and there are no Inazuma characters with that hair color. The closest thing is Sarah but she has a dark bluish color. Also even with the Chinese opera theme and Yun Jin's actress voice, she came out to say that what they did in the game was not 100% correct either to Chinese opera standars. The game does not pretend at any point to be a realistic story material, it is a fantasy game that takes inspiration from different things of the real world and adapt that to the game.
@@siabenkamui8968then why can they make the npcs have dark skin colored while they cant with the playable characters who are canonly supposed to be dark but instead whitewashed them? @@SatanHades Same reason why Inazuma is based in Japan and yet it does not have characters with black hair but several blondes... the game does not use or intend to use real world racial traits in the characters at any time, except for the fictional ones of the game as half-humans/beasts or onis.

Guys....this has been a problem since sumeru... maybe I cared more about sumeru since I'm Indian and my culture was apart of it but why are you guys so surprised still???? The history book was right infront of you and you didn't learn your lesson??
People never learn from history. Once Natlan comes out this whole situation will suddenly dissappear same as it did with Sumeru and hoyo will have done nothing. Who knows maybe in a year or two this drama will come up again only to follow the same pattern and die down in less than 2 months with no result.
people were really outraged by sumeru. it just seems that the whole thing with natlan is sticking harder this time. but most people will probably move on once the nation and its characters are released, it’s what happened in sumeru.
They also seem to forget Natlan is the nation of pyro in a very literal sense. You will not find tanned people near areas of extreme heat. I'd be surprised if the populace wasn't more pale than Mondstat citizens.
As an african player, i’m deeply disappointed that HYV couldn’t do the bar minimum. Tbh, pale people are not the problem, but why do you want to represent a culture but represent the people from this culture ? Most of latam and west african players thought that Natlan would represent them but…
The thing here is that Mihoyo literally stated that they are not intending to represent but rather take inspiration. But still, that last comment really puts this situation into perspective, I can't disagree with it. Because this is exactly what Mihoyo seems to think and I can absolutely understand your disappointment
yup, im more with the fact that its a fiction game etc but i completely agree with this thing - they are taking the cultural symbols of those countries and basing them in the game where its more beneficial for them to make lighter characters and all. thats one thing i kinda wish they didnt do because that just.. defeats the point?? like its not like ororon looks identical to the irl oloron and has identical powers so why tf even inspire from him? just name him bob and itll be the exact same. like the primordial one isnt called jesus
The absurdity doesn't stop there btw. Putting aside the cultural factor there's still a thing they forgot about: biology. As far as i can see Natlan seems to have a climate similar to the regions right below the equator meaning that the sun there burns you to death from how hot it is. Now here comes the question: how can there be so many white people in a place where natural selection favors dark skin? Even if it's a fantasy game you can still see that biology is still the same. In Mondstadt (Germany) and Fontaine (France) there are a lot of light skinned people. In Liyue (China) and Inazuma (Japan) they tend towards an asian skin color (the difference is really small but it's there). In Sumeru (Arabian Peninsula) you run into a problem. The only dark skinned people are the ones from the desert which doesn't make sense since the Sumeru forest kinda looks like a rainforest and rainforests grow near the equator so technically speaking there should be more tanned characters but it's not the case. You could try to justify this with some characters (Tighnari that is a different specie or Collei that comes from outside) but characters such as Alhaitam or Kaveh should be tanned cause they were born there. As you can see even when you put aside the cultural factors you still end up with something that doesn't make sense to be there. Something that feels inconsistent.
Because hating on Genshin is just a meme at this point. Anything is triggering to snowflakes who think a fantasy game about a fictional world is representative of reality
And how they want to add "cultures" into a "work of fiction" game :V. Like bro, have you heard of Black Myth Wukong? No? There are even some motherfckers out therr want to add FCKING DEI into a game where you control a monkey in a fantasy world and bonk monsters :V
Genshin needs to do better with melanin, but the fact that we cant even talk about Natlan without someone complaining about the skin color is crazy. Like let me play the game in peace? I'm asking this very sincerely, just to preface this, as it could seem somewhat hostile, otherwise. If someone is taking your culture- your stories, your architectural style, your foods, your music- basically *everything except for YOU.* Are they _actually_ representing you? If the people that they are attributing those things don't look like you, or your people who created those things, is it actually representing you? If the only time that they are willing to show the existence of your people who are of darker skin tones is when they are portraying you as being not just being violent and destructive, but as it being *inherently moral to end you,* WHILE they present your culture as being strictly attributed to only a very specific portion of your people, the ones that they go out of their way to portray as being indistinguishable from _how they portray their own people..._ Are they really representing your culture? Or are they taking credit for your culture and saying that _they_ made it, and that any similarities to your culture is coincidental? Can you really that that they're representing your culture if they go out of their way to remove you from it?

I think it's more racist to think that every chinese person is racist lol
*Since some people can't read: I'm talking about the arguments I often see and why I don't agree with them, not about if hoyo is doing wrong or not.

Culture =/= race. I see your point, but it's a bad argument.
But the issue with the races you said is none of them were created by china. Your argument isn't representative of the creators. You should find a mihoyo or chinese dark skinned popular character. Not a japanese or korean made one.

Next is the enemies/eremites being more darker than the playable characters, the remites were also described as "barbaric" and were called many names by other ingame characters

Turban*

You have to understand that the Spanish conquest and the British conquest were a whole lot different, Spaniards stategy was to blend their culture with the locals, they subjugate them by imposing their belief system and their religion, they destroyed ancient texts and architecture but never messed with the local communities, unlike the British, who came to the continent and started going ballistic on everything and everyone that was different, Spanish conquest's objective was to "civilize the savages by faith" that's why there are countless records of academic texts on subjects such as Latin, art and religion in native languages aimed to "educate" the locals, the british just wanted the land so they erradicated everything on their way to settle themselves, so No, we are not all "descendants from spaniards"
2.- The fact that most people are indeed descendants from spaniards doesn't change the fact that Americans do complaint about everything on behalf of everyone else because they tend to live in their own bubble and think everyone has the same views as they do and, thus, have to be offended by the same things, like when they tried to cancel Speedy González
3.- We, as latin americans are not fixated on representation, outside the US communities, people who live in Latin America dont ask for it or care tbh, BUT we do care that, when we are represented at leats do it in a faithful and respectful way, like the thing with Primos from Disney Channel, no one asked for it but we reacted because it is an offensive representation of latin americans

As for the leaks that have been shown thus far, there are many black, and dark-skinned NPCs in the different cities/tribes in Natlan. Even some of the enemies possess some attributes and skin-tones drawn from the real life cultures that have inspired Natlan.
I would definitely say that *"but then proceed to ignore the race of people it belongs to"* is an inaccurate statement.
(not that skin color matters in real life, let alone in a fictional fantasy video game, but still).
Girl ur Pronounciatuon of that Oloron is really good for a non native Yoruba speaker ❤
right??? i was pleasantly surprised
I guess you wanna get isekai'd to genshin world?
@@siabenkamui8968then why can they make the npcs have dark skin colored while they cant with the playable characters who are canonly supposed to be dark but instead whitewashed them? The thing here too is that its clear that their designs were def made for dark skin tones because when you darken their skin, it compliments them SO MUCH more.
@@SatanHades Same reason why Inazuma is based in Japan and yet it does not have characters with black hair but several blondes... the game does not use or intend to use real world racial traits in the characters at any time, except for the fictional ones of the game as half-humans/beasts or onis.
@@siabenkamui8968 yes, i understand what youre trying to point out. But im asking WHY the npcs are dark skin yet the playable characs that are SUPPOSED to have dark skin is not? Yeah sure, the characters are fictional and doesnt base of the real world, but why are the npcs that are also related to the culture dark skin, like how theyre suppose to be, yet not the playable ones who ARE suppose to be dark? the thing here is that, they have absolutely NO REASON for them to not make the characters black since they have npcs that are darker than their literal darkest playable character. Did you play Sumeru at all? Seems like you didn't.

@@tsugumu-mugu Uh dude can you read? At all? Literally read my comment, not once did I call anyone animals or savages.
You should really read properly before reacting.
The original comment said that the Museum has everything but the people and I pointed out that that would mean that the museum would keep people like a zoo keeps animals which makes no sense.
You really need to work on your reading comprehenshion before reacting this angrily on the internet.
No . I didn't give shit for sumeru , nor do I care about the same thing in natlan
@@mob806they spoke for themselves not you . They didn't say "everyone cares abt it "
They also seem to forget Natlan is the nation of pyro in a very literal sense.
Then you would agree assassin's creed shadows shouldn't have a black mc
Same i wish for black characters

When Neuvillette's splash art came out and Ixbalanqué was mentioned, I lost my mind! I was so excited to see my culture in the game, I even re-read my Popol Vuh getting ready to catch all the references in the game! But then I saw Kinich in the trailer and my heart broke. When the vast majority of us are morenos, seeing a white guy representing us just felt out of place. He wasn't even tanned by the sun like my mestizo ass is.
It's like I'm back in the school, when they would choose the only white girl in the class to represent us in a contest just because she was the "prettiest", not because she was the best candidate. A couple days ago Kinich's splash art came out and he looks a more tanned. Guess the pressure is slowly getting to them, but the damage is done.
At this point, I don't want them to get any revenue from my culture anymore.

If someone is taking your culture- your stories, your architectural style, your foods, your music- basically *everything except for YOU.*
Are they _actually_ representing you? If the people that they are attributing those things don't look like you, or your people who created those things, is it actually representing you?
If the only time that they are willing to show the existence of your people who are of darker skin tones is when they are portraying you as being not just being violent and destructive, but as it being *inherently moral to end you,* WHILE they present your culture as being strictly attributed to only a very specific portion of your people, the ones that they go out of their way to portray as being indistinguishable from _how they portray their own people..._
Are they really representing your culture? Or are they taking credit for your culture and saying that _they_ made it, and that any similarities to your culture is coincidental?
Can you really that that they're representing your culture if they go out of their way to remove you from it?
