There are a lot of things you can do in NYC for free. Just walking on the streets of the city is good entertainment and this city is walk friendly. Even in a costly city like New York, you have the Staten Island ferry which is completely free. There are also some summer time concerts in Central Park that are free.

This video was insightful. I would wonder why western snacks...pizzas and burgers are so costly in India..150/400 rupees. But now I realize in dollar terms they are like $2 /3. So some sort of parity..rupee catching up to dollar. Price is what you pay, value is what you get. I guess I would've explored the city in similar way saving on budget. I have also got that 1$ pizza slice during my trip. It was surprising for me as I did not know I can get food that cheap in NYC. 😁 Just the previous night I spent almost 10$ for similar slice in a little Italy pizza outlet opposite to Rockefeller center. Bonus was the 1$ pizza shop owner was Bengali like me. Suddenly hearing Bengali in such a far away city was a pleasant surprise

It was banned there . And it is also illegal to sell meat by saying that it's halal certified. I don't know what happened later since I read that article 4-5 years back . May be that judgement is overturned or it is applicable only in some states.
