Hi from England, at my first attempt at this I went through the hosel cap and nearly through the the other side of my favourite 3 wood. Didn't make that mistake again. Great video
Hi Jim, if you run a large wood screw into it (the shaft) you can pull the damaged tip section out in the usual way...heat an pull (spiral quik-outs will work also). Job done and no chance of damage from a drill bit :-)
Kent Nicholson I’ve seen a T handle with a screw attached which interests me. I can’t use a screw on my puller or it will damage the puller vice. That why I always try to get the shaft to grab with a smaller bit. Good tip!
@@McGolf Jim if you braze or epoxy the wood screw into an old shaft you can use it in your puller then...it just sits in like a normal pull would. I should have explained better, apologies
great video, I have glue residue on the head as well as a graphite shaft snapped at the hosel.....How would you get the glue off the head? looks like gorilla glue
I have a tailor-made stealth driver, I can loosen the screw in the head, but I cannot remove the club head from the shaft. Do you have any suggestions? Thank you.
Help. I broke the shaft in my 7 iron. Ram fx2 with specific shafts. Took to a big box golf retailer that has a "Golf Pro". Was very specific that the shaft had to be the same specs... Weight, flex, length. Wanted the old shaft back. The new shaft doesn't feel the same. How do you verify the flex?
Great video - I am having to do the same thing after my 3 wood met a root and the root won. What type of wheel did you use on the grinder to polish up the wood? I need to do that too before I reshaft it.
Hi, Could you use an easyout left hand thread that you would use to remove a broken bolt? This way you're not chancing drilling through the club head. Heat first then use a tap handle to turn the easyout anti-clock, this should grip the center of the broken shaft, loosen the glue and pull it out.
Stuart Tampen you could on steel and I do that for steel broken at the hosel. Graphite shafts May work if enough heat is applied or you will take out the inner layers and need a bigger easy out next.
HI Jim, another great video. When doing the same repair I've mistakingly drilled right through the hosel cap (not as skilled as you). What would you do afterward? I usual put a plastic plug before reshafting. If there was a small bit that fell into the head, I put some rattle stop in there. Any other tips or recommendations? thanks again :D
Thanks for the video! I have a Taylormade M2 fairway wood that I just bought used but shaft is busted right at the hosel! Can u explain how to remove busted shaft i.e. is it different than this video?

❤How expensive is a new graflit shaft for a driver
Awesome video! More stuff I did not know, and now I do. Thanks!
Hi how do you know when you have drilled for enough to not damage the inside? Busy with a SLDR shaft repair

what size drill bits?
What is the max drill bit size
Have you ever tried using left handed drill bits?

Does any shaft fit in any driver?
I have a Wilson C300 head with a broken shaft 😠
Hi Jim love your work. Can you tell me how to fill a dint on my Titleist 915 driver head, thanks.
no. dents are unfortunately a permanent fixture. I have heard of a guy the tried to use air. I doubt it worked.
@@McGolf thanks
How do I know how far down to drill, like when to stop before going to far and drilling into the actual driver head?
What size drill bits did you use?
5/16
And smaller
Is it possible to re-use the shaft? Asking for a friend.
Jim, how do you remove a broken steel shaft from an iron?
How much do I charge to do this kinda of work?
Is it the same for iron shafts
How would you go about this when you hit a tip weight?
how long will that little torch last in your shop?
How do you get the shaft out if it has a tip weight. What is the proceedure.
more heat and an awl to stir the weight loose. or a small drill bit to catch it to pull out

Looks like a type buff wheel

can you tell me how to re chrome a golf iron? Thank you
Awesome content. Question:. Would you drill out a putter head like that? I hope all is well. Thanks for everything.
yes, it just takes less time
love your videos, how much space should there be between the hosel and shaft before gluing?
TOXICavengers about .01
@@McGolf thank you. keep up the good work.

Gary Yip I’ve drilled through it too, the rattle stop and plastic hosel plug are the way to go
What should i be paying to remove a graphite shaft and replace with another
I would say the going piece is about $30 - $40
Best way to get it out without the mess is using a a screw that barely fits in the broken shaft. Heat the hosel then pull it with a pair of pliers.
Thanks for the video! I have a Taylormade M2 fairway wood that I just bought used but shaft is busted right at the hosel! Can u explain how to remove busted shaft i.e. is it different than this video?
That’s pretty much what this video was
M2 clubs usually just unscrew as they are adjustable
Be careful this is a very dangerous idea, the drill bit could snag and you will be in trouble.
Think about a good heat guy. Gentler heat.
I was 420!
what size drill did you use?
