Everyone is talking about the greatness of McCabe, I could never disagree. But, since im a bass player, I have to say that Simon Jones is also a god on bass. He brings back my faith in my instrument every time I hear The Verve on record and, mostly live.
absolutely awesome, this performance still gives me shivers, they really made the festival. they stomp all over oasis, coldplay... anyone you care to mention.
I love Oasis, and ive seen them lots of times including at Glasto and believe me, this performance was head and shoulders above anything i've seen oasis do.
@@tinandgonic3927Ashcroft is twice the songwriter Noel is. Much more depth and substance in his lyrics. Not denying Oasis though they’re brilliant, but verve are on a tier on their own
nice to see the violinist rocking it out with the verve and seems like hes loving every minute of it. very strange tho that he came out of nowhere for their gigs last year.
I cannot understand why you insist on comparing the two bands. They're 2 fuckin' great bands, each have their legacy. I won't even get into the fact that one loves the other too. Oasis and Verve 4ever PS: Sorry for my bad english =P

Ashcroft is the man. What a band And what a style. So underrated.
he gets overlooked sometimes but Simon just nails it with his basslines every time
Yes yes yes!!!!

Will never understand why ppl feel the urge to compare these two all the time. Completely different style.
100% agreed
@@tinandgonic3927 it's just the era they were in and fans generally liked both. The style and attitude had alot to do with it
@@tinandgonic3927 I don't get it either 😕

This song RULES. I love their "reunion" album Forth. An overlooked classic.
I think forth is their best album.
This has got to be the best live version they have ever done! Master piece 👏👍🏻
This concert is the greatest concert ever
nick mccabe and kevin shields have to be the most creative guitarists out there

The Verve! ASHCROFT!!!!! The man is made of music! I love this song....Trippy lyrics too!
What a fucking tune to open their comeback album, someone tell me where the next band with as much passion and talent is coming from?
Temazo..
this is so so good. 5:17 letting the music breathe. Spontaneous. Genius
I didn’t believe in God until I heard this song live.
Keep believing just because you can’t see him God Jesus doesn’t mean they don’t exist 💕

Awesome...this is the first time I've seen this (since being there :-)) because of the BBC coverage missing the best bit of Glasto 2008
This peaks at 4:19 absolutely epic
Mad Richard is back!!!!
I love the style of acting from the Bassplayer
? performing? just how he feels the groove of the music to me, do you play any instrument? do you groove along? record yourself
get loose get loose
I love Oasis's sound and Liam's voice on the first two albums, but the Verve actually has lyrical content, too! Ahhh, the Verve
the verve is the best

Nick McCabe is a god

There is a god on guitar... and his name is Nick FUCKING MCCABE!!!
From 2:31 up to 2:40 look-a-like the Alhambra in Granada. ;-)
