My grandmother would go to K-mart and come home with her apron pockets stuffed with leaves! She never bought geraniums she would take a leaf and bring it home to grow it from that stem!
Awesome video!
I’d love more videos on propagating outdoor plants/bushes like forsythia, lilac, roses…
Great, I'm glad you enjoyed it!
I do this all the time for my indoor and outdoor guys as well. I sometimes use rooting powder with excellent results. Thank you for sharing your tips. Going outside today to get my plants ready, I'll be making a small greenhouse with some old windows.
Cool, thanks Linda. Where do you live?
. I am new to propagation. Will keep watching. Love your videos. Well done ..
Thanks Joanna 😁
I have not any idea to propagate, big thanks 😊
You bet
Thank you so much I really really appreciate watching you propagate those garden plants. Hydrangeas are very very easy, and Fatsia is too the same way. Please stay safe and well too xxxx Mags ❤❤❤❤
Thanks for watching 😁
Not sure if it makes much of a difference, but when I propagate Plants that have the Nodes that become Roots, I always cut off the leaves of that Node, and just put them in water... and then once the roots are somewhat established, then I plant them.
I'm going to try this technique this coming Spring with my Clematis! Thanks for showing us how to do this technique.
Great stuff 👍
Really great tips! Thank you!
Thank you so much for all your wonderful videos and education! We adore watching your channel! 🌺🙏🥰
My pleasure 😊
Great video, excellent presentation, clear and concise! Thank you for sharing!
Glad it was helpful!
Very interesting! I never knew this!
Looks so simple , the way you do it !
Thank you! Cheers!
Very informative.👏🏽🌿
I'm surprised you're not using rooting compound to help them along 🥰
I find it a nice to have rather than essential
Thank you for sharing!! I LOVE Hydrangeas and never knew they could be propagated!! But I love propagating my houseplants and creating FREE houseplants!!❤
You are so welcome!

thx so much
Thank you very much very usefull information
Glad it was helpful!
Thank you. 🙂
hmmm now you have me thinking about the honeysuckle that grows over my fence from the neighbor's
When I repotted my scraggly my Scindapsus pictus that was never very bushy, it was only then that I realized it was only 3 vines in the pot… This upset me greatly, so I cut the longest vine back to the length of the other two, and am currently propagating 6 leaves. I decided to use rooting hormone and perlite. Waiting for the root that grew to branch a bit, can’t wait to plant them back in the pot.
I also got tired of my string of hearts being so thin so I bought 2 more 4in pots for $5 apiece, grew them out, and have been regularly cutting back the main one when it starts to dust the floor and planting them back in the main pot. So far doing great, can’t wait for them all to be as large as the main plant!
Sounds great 👍
Would love to know if my rose bush can be propagated. Thanks for the video.
Roses can be done in much the same way. Pick a stem without a flower
Great video as ever :)
I was initially confused with the hydrangea cutting above the leaf joint until you explained later in the video that you can get away with this because it roots so easily that you don't have to cut below the joint as usual. I wonder if there are any other advantages to this approach... Also, I wonder if rooting would be enhanced still further by cutting below a joint...
Thanks! You probably get higher success rate going below but with hydrangeas they're normally dead easy
can this be done with arugula?
My mom and I were just talking about propagating bushes!
We wanted to propagate a beach plum…any suggestions?
Nice plant! I don't have the plant myself but the principles will be the same. Take a few stems cuttings underneath a leaf node and stick it in some soil.
When do you remove them from the pot and plant them in the garden? How long time does it take?
I’d give them a full season to grow out then plant them in the garden
Hi, really interesting thanks. Would you leave them in a pot for a year or so till planting them out? And could they stay out in an unheated greenhouse over winter?
I’d let them grow a bit in the pot and then plant them out
growing demystified
When is it safe to cut? Im in Pac. Nw.
Which plant?
😆😀😐🤔🤨 hiding in the bushes telling us to be quiet 🤫 is not a really good look for you... Great tip for making cuttings though 👌
😂
Propagating life is the meaning of life. Let's also appreciate that more CO2 is equal to more life.
Well said
