I was there on the 2nd night I was stood next to the lil Scottish girl she had a lil guitar . Liam played to 170k oasis played to 250k over 2 nights here in 96.
I managed to be at their last gig at Wembley stadium 2009. Still got the ticket saved as I knew it was historic!

When Oasis played Knebworth back in 96, 5% of the Uk population applied for tickets (I was there!), I think in 2022 LG had 80k each day watching

I was there was honestly the best gig I’ve ever been to Kasabian were unreal too (took us 4 hours to get out the car park though 😂)
I remember when this record was released ... man, that was a huge one! I was still young and attending a school in the UK (although I am a german) and OASIS was THE BAND! I met the band at a rather small concert in Northampon! They signed my vinyl record ... < I still got it! First copy release, signed! Might be worth a buck or two now! But I won't sale it, sorry! ^^+gg

I got to see Oasis twice once at Heaton Park and the Etihad stadium absolutely unreal.
A reunion tour would sell out nation wide in minutes.
Over 200k people there in that crowd. Not too shabby.

You can say whatever you want about Liam, yeah he's been sometimes a dickhead and all of that, but the dude loves the music and the audience so much, he's living for that. Noel may have been the brain behind Oasis (he's a fantastic songwritter and all of that, I love his work), but Liam was the "living breath" of the band for sure. Legend.
The whole point of Oasis in the 1990s was - perhaps regrettably - a kind of anti-Americanism. Their influences were very obviously The Beatles, The Who, The Kinks - retro British bands that had shook up the US in the early 1960s and which implied greatness. And this worked back home in the UK, where they had No.1 singles and albums (like many, I rushed out and bought their second album on day of release). Whether this translates into any kind of long-term worthiness is open to debate.
Yea sorry to BURST YOUR BUBBLE ! BUT THERE ARE 62 MILLION PEOPLE IN THE UK AND I’D SAY IT LOOKS LIKE ABOUT 100.000 to 200.000 or so ?.
I mean, it's gratifying to hear this enthusiasm, but they wouldn't exist at all without it being - at core - a resistance to Grunge. The UK in the mid 1990s was all about itself. And maybe that arrogance is enough.
In the 90's, Oasis got so huge in the UK that they were hailed as the 'second coming' of The Beatles... However, the band was a mix of brawling, infighting, booze, drugs and bad press... The classic line-up of Oasis fell apart by 1999 after 3 studio albums and 1 rarities album.
Despite the setbacks, brothers Liam Gallagher (vocals) and Noel Gallagher (guitar & vocals) brought Oasis back in 2000 w/ a 4th album and new members, but the band experienced a drop in popularity after the 90's... Oasis split up in 2009 after Noel quit the band after 1 too many fights w/ Liam... Both launched successful solo careers.
In 1996, Oasis played Knebworth, England at the peak of their popularity w/ a quarter million fans over 2 shows that ended the 2nd album's tour... In 2022, Oasis records were still selling to a new generation in the UK and they kept demanding that Oasis reunite for another Knebworth show... In the wake of the pandemic, Liam Gallagher decided to give the fans what they demanded and booked 2 shows at Knebworth that year as a solo act ... Because of changes to concert rules and regulations, they couldn't sell a quarter million tickets over 2 shows; but Liam sold out both dates w/ over 170K fans over 2 days (In addition to 50K at Manchester's sold out Etihad stadium).
Liam wanted original Oasis guitarist paul 'Bonehead' Arthurs to be a part of his solo band, but Arthurs was diagnosed w/ cancer and needed treatment and recuperation time... so, he could not do those shows (He had been playing Oasis songs on tour w/ Liam as a 3rd guitarist).
Both Oasis' '1996 Knebworth set and Liam Gallagher's 2022 Knebworth set are available as live albums now.
