Thanks so much for watching our first deep dive video - I hope you enjoyed it! Let me know in the comments what other Kingdom Hearts topics you'd like to see a deep dive of! 👑💙
And special thanks to our community members keyofdestiny, kuraikara, and photomix for generously funding a sealed base set booster box on our Throne wish list and making this possible! ✨🎁

Man, been a fan of KH since the beginning, how did I not know about this card game? Wish I could've collected these lol. They should definitely bring it back, the game actually seems fun too.

That is one of the reasons why you didn't know about it. Not just because the tcg market is dominated by established games, but they didn't promote it enough either. It has its charm and is a product of its time for sure

This is pretty awesome! Thanks for making a video on this. I bought about 15 booster boxes and 18 starter decks back in 2008 I think. I have the first 3 base sets

Thanks for watching! That sounds like a collection to be envied!

I collected these as a kid (both the English and the Japanese from eBay since there was so little KH merch available at the time), but I never actually played the game.
Outstanding video with even more outstanding editing!

Wait, so is the part of kidnapping a blonde child a hidden mechanic, or was that one of those mechanics later editions introduced

I only got a couple of packs when I was around 10 years old. Unfortunately, there was no one available to play the game. If square Enix made a reboot of this card game you know I will be playing it.

Sigh... due to a couple of occurrences lately, I've started side-eyeing trading card games, something I've never really been into before. On top of me wondering just how much fun I would actually get out of one should I start and if I would end up bothering to dedicate any real time to it, I'm not sure what game to look deeper into and perhaps pull the trigger on. I'm not sure that any modern TCG has exactly what I'm looking for, but if this Kingdom Hearts one was still around and people were still playing it, I would AT MINIMUM buy the starter pack and go to a few local tournaments. It's a game I think I might actually get into, but sadly, it's just a curiosity now.

This is such an awesome video you created! Awesomely Done! I have completed the first 2 Sets that came out in English years ago before the tcg died out and have them all in holographic form as well. My favorites from the first 2 Sets though are King Trident 🔱 and End of The World, Disney Castle, Riku, Soul Eater Keyblade, and all of the Villain cards are amazing to look at in holo form also. I collected all of the import ArtFX Kotobukiya figures they made for Kingdom Hearts 1 and 2 also those figures are all really nice looking compared to the later released figures at GameStop from Diamond Toys. I look forward to seeing more content soon too! Thanks! 👍

How the fuck did you even get that?
Did you know someone from the factory or KH company?
I have seen those in other cards games too like Yugioh and I always wonder how people get them.

    • @theunclebuddy
      @theunclebuddy 3 หลายเดือนก่อน +2

@SicilianAmericanDreams the company that made the game had a contest for it. You submit a decklist and all the people played the game with the submissions. Winner got the sheet and other things

I collected so many packs for Heart Points too..they never sent me anything for them though. I sent in all my packs with a Money Order back then to Fantasy Flight Games but never got anything back..

@@KHGuides yeah it was supposedly a way to get a Promo Simba, Sephiroth or Cloud I believe and also for promo players of Sora and Riku. I literally opened like 16 base set booster boxes and like 8 of the Darkness awakening booster boxes and countless blister boxes as well for cheap from Ali Baba back in the day but I can't find any now like that.

That’s really cool! I never knew this was a thing, so this was cool learning about such an obscure part of the franchise’s history
Looking forward to seeing more of these! You have such a clean editing style that’s you’ve perfected over the KH1 guides, so this was a pleasant experience learning how the game actually worked. Looking forward to more of these in the future, perhaps a closer look at the elusive OG Coded for non Japanese fans in the future? I can never find anything beyond screenshots and poor quality camcorder video.
    Keep up the good work!
