I just got home from seeing this played by the Rogue Valley Symphony...The lead work for their three-venue program. Sitting five rows from the stage and having this soundscape spread in front of you: It. Was. Stunning. My rational mind was asking how could this piece even be imagined...Then I told my rational brain to shut up. The best you'll be able to do at home is with headphones and your eyes closed -- but give it a shot.
Constant tension, punctuated by melody: the release all the more restful. The threat of cacophony in every measure... bravo. From 7:45-ish culminating at the 8:12 mark... OMG.
What a fantastic piece of work. The attention to detail, the swelling, resonance, dissonance, harmonies - all of it. "For Orbiting Spheres" - what a fantastic name; you can almost picture them coming and going. Awesome performance! I got the pleasure to see the Oklahoma City Philharmonic perform this a few years ago and I'd never heard anything like it.
gorgeous! What stunning orchestration too. Masterfully crafted music.
Missy is the greatest composer presently living and working in this milieu that I know of.

This is the first music I’ve heard by this composer. Wonderful music.
Me too,😊
Now this one, I'll come back to, often. Thanks to Composer and Orchestra/Conductor.
This draws back to the cosmological idea of the Harmony of the Spheres, one of the most beautiful ideas in music
I can honestly say I’ve never heard anything quite like this from a live orchestra. Amazing, thank you so much!
vielen Dank... Maestros ...
danke vielmal!
너무 너무 멋있어요^^
멋진 음악 감사합니다♡

I saw the Halle orchestra perform this live in Norfolk, England last night and it was magical

I wish my symphony would be played by such a magnificent orchestra ❤
Any composer would dream of being played by such an orchestra!
Очень подходящая музыка для 24 февраля!
😢
Das Werk hat mich positiv überrascht.
A veces me cuesta entender este tipo de música pero me interesan los instrumentos y los maestros que ejecutan tan seriamente
